  • When to use which adapter?

    Hi Experts,
I have an query regarding use and advantages of adapter!
I want to know in what preference should the adpaters be used IDOC,RFC,PROXIES. what should we consider to use first and what are the advanatages of one over the other.
    Regards .
    Saras Jain

    Hi Saras Jain  ,
These r the details regarding Adapters:
    Adapter framework
    What are XI Adapters?
Adapters enable communication between the XI integration engine and an application system. This leads to the compatibility between heterogeneous systems.Adapters convert the XI protocol (SOAP with attachments over HTTP) to the protocol spoken by the application system and vice-versa.The key purpose of XI is to integrate heterogeneous systems and adapters are the key enabler to achieving this goal
    Adapter Categories
Application adapters provided by SAP (IDoc and RFC) and 3rd party vendors (Seeburger, Siebel, Oracle, ...)
Technical adapters relate to specific protocols
    File systems (FTP / File)
    RDBMS systems (JDBC)
    Messaging systems (JMS)
    Web services (SOAP)
    Mail servers (SMTP)
    SAP Business Connector
    Marketplaces
    Industry standard adapters
    RosettaNet
    CIDX
    The Adapter Engine
The XI Adapter engine is the home of the majority of the XI adapters. Only the IDoc adapter and the plain HTTP adapter do not reside on the adapter engine. They reside on the Integration Server.
It is fully integrated in to the XI landscape with tools provided for configuration, logistics and monitoring. It's Adapter Framework is based on the JCA.
SAP XI requires an adapter framework to communicate outside of the SAP system. These adapters translate code from external applications to an XML message for NetWeaver processes using the Java Connector Architecture. It is a part of the Adapter Engine, which provides interfaces for configuring, managing, and monitoring adapters.

  • Do I Have To Use A Standard Account for Computing Security?

    Hi,
I have often heard that it is safer to use a Standard Account for normal computing and keep an "Admin" account separate, but it bugged me to have two accounts.
Once I began to use File Vault 2 I thought I could only sign into my Mac initially with the Admin account and would have to log out and switch over to the standard account every time I turned my computer on, which was never going to happen, but I just found out that I can sign in with my Standard account from the beginning if I give it permissions.
    So my question is...
Do I really need to separate my accounts?  What security measures are in place when I use my standard account vs the Admin if I can just use the Admin password when I need it (like I do now)?
Also, are any changes made in a Standard account (such as files downloaded for school or software installed) carried over to the admin account or would I have to transfer that new content over if I ever decided to delete a standard account?
    Thanks!

Using a standard account is probably marginally more secure.  Both standard and admin accounts give you the ability to modify any files in your home folder.  But standard accounts can't modify system settings nearly as easily.
However, you don't *have* to use one to be sufficiently secure.  I would certainly recommend that you ensure Gatekeeper is set to "signed apps and app store apps" and NOT set to allow all applications by default.  Then, just use a modicum of good sense about things.

    Hi Liz,
Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem.  Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File",  then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu.    I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine.   The Browse Backups  opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine.  I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day.   I then clicked  "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen.   Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal.   When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1).  I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend.   I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu,  when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library.   Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed.   Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto,  that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto?     If so have you clicked "upgrade"?
Good luck Liz,  if you have Time Machine running as a back up to your library, maybe you wil be able to get help there, by following my instructions above.   Otherwise,   good luck with your investigations.   I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

  • Benefits/ Limitations when we use  SAP HANA Extended and Standard products.

    Hi All,
We are going to purchase SAP HANA media. Please let me know what are the benefits/ limitations when we use  SAP HANA Extended and Standard products.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Vishall

    Hello,
please check Master Guide (page 9 - chapter 1.6 Software Components)
    https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000604552011
There you can find edition comparison and detailed description.
    To extract the short summary:
Platform edition = SAP HANA Database + Studio + Client + Host Agent + Information Composer
Enterprise edition = (Platform edition) + LT Replication Add-on (SLT) + LT Replication Server (SLT) + SAP BO Data Services
Enterprise extended edition = (Enterprise edition) + Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise + Sybase Replication Server + Sybase Replication Server Agent + SAP HANA load controller
It depends on what licenses you already have and how do you intends to use HANA.
Platform edition = ETL via BO Data Services (you already have license for BO Data Services)
Enterprise edition = SLT and/or BO Data Services (including licenses)
Enterprise extended edition = all replication technologies

  • Ebay "plug-in failure" when using the standard pic uploader - HELP

Hi.  I sell on Ebay frequently and have not been able to use their "standard picture" uploader.  This feature allows you to upload multiple pictures at once, which saves time.  However, whenever I try to use this feature, I get the attached error.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash, enabled plug ins under security preferences.  I have also ran and completed a software update on my mac (safari was out of date).  I have cleared cache, shut down and rebooted.   I'm still getting the "failed plug-in" message.  I am on Safari version Version 6.1.1 (7537.73.11) and have a MAC OS X 10.7.5.  Thooughts?

I am having the exact issues:
Same day problem started, using newest flash version, also on iMac OS X 10.9.4 browser is safari. I've also uninstalled & reinstalled flash without resolve. Cannot have multiple tabs open when on broadcasting sites & youtube, as using the up/down volume both on keyboard & wireless headset produces "Plug-in Failure" message on all sites. Refreshing the page works, but cannot touch my volume without error message reappearing.
    Would appreciate a solution promptly.

  • Hi I just updated from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. I write DVD's using Final Cut Pro, creating a DVD that plays HD and Standard Definition on one disk. My problem is when I used load the disk on my G5 it would ask if you want High Definition or Standar

Hi I just updated from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.
I write DVD's using Final Cut Pro, creating a DVD that plays HD and Standard Definition on one disk.
My problem is when I used load the disk on my G5 it would ask if you want High Definition or Standard Definition, now it just defaults to Standard Definition.(I'm using Apple's DVD Player)
    Can I fix this problem?

Addendum: I read on a post here (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=420169) about removing some kext files in order to trick OSX into thinking that there were no FireWire ports.
I followed the instructions and removed from /System/Library/Extensions/ the following files:
    IOFireWireSerialBusProtocolTransport.kext
    IOFireWireAVC.kext
    IOFireWireFamily.kext
    IOFireWireIP.kext
    IOFireWireSBP2.kext
I restarted and BAM...Snow Leopard booted crazy fast and the mouse and keyboard worked instantly.
The System Profiler says "No FireWire ports were found."
So this tells me that the FW port is probably the culprit and is messing up the installation.
So how do I hack the Mountain Lion installer and tell it to ignore the FW port, which is obviously quite dead? Or is there something I can do to the Base system that is similar?

  • How do I remove top and bottom margins when printing using Adobe Acrobat XI Standard.

How do I remove top and bottom margins when printing using Adobe Acrobat XI Standard. (I selected 'Fit to scale' and there's a huge gap on the top and bottom).

Those margins are usually reported from the printer settings to Acrobat. Meansif you have, for example, an inkjet printer and that printer can not print seamlessly, then there will be a minimum margin.
    Check your printer's page settings.

  • Getting a runtime error when using a standard Form Interface

I am getting this Error analysis:
The following syntax error was found in the program /1BCDWB/SAPLSM00000212 :
"Field "VBRK-WAERK" is unknown. It is neither in one of the specified t"
"ables nor defined by a "DATA" statement. ."
The problem is, I am using a standard interface INVOICE_INTERFACE for a custom form. Why am I getting this error? Where in my form should I declare VBRK-WAERK for my program to work?

Here are some troubleshooting steps that will help you isolate and fix this problem:
Create a Z-copy of the INVOICE_INTERFACE (ex. ZIF_SD_INVOICE).  Use this interface in your custom form (ex. ZFRM_SD_INVOICE).
OPTIONAL: In your custom form, deactivate all of the fields you are not using.  This will minimize the amount of work in the next steps.
In your custom interface, go to the Currency/Quantity Fields section.  There are 88 currency fields in the stock interface, but only 12 of them are defined in this section.  At this point you have options:
If you still have fields that are active, but not listed here, you will have to enter them.
If you didn’t deactivate anything, you will have to define the remaining 76 fields here.
Use the interface at the bottom and deactivate the CMPRE_FLT field in your Adobe Form. It can be found in the PAYMENT_CARDS table contained in the HEAD_DETAIL structure of the interface.  The other CURR and QUAN fields are all defined in this interface.  The pictures will guide you to that field in your form.

  • When to use the Adapters and in which case

    Hi Experts,
I am little worried and searched the sdn, but i am not getting the proper answer for my question.
My Question is when to use which adapter and at what stage?
    1. File      --> when to use it and in which case
    2. IDOC
    3. RFC
    4. SOAP
    5. XI
    6. HTTP
And also where to use BPM and Proxies, when should we go for them.
Please help me out. I Beg the answer from experts.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi,
If an incoming or outgoing message is a file(.txt,.csv etc), we use a file adapter
If the outgoing message is an IDOC, we need an IDOC adapter.same for RFC also.
    SOAP for incoming/outgoing webservices
    XI while using proxy scenarios
HTTP- while you an HTTP request.
BPM and Proxies is a vast topic.
    For Proxies http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/5d/112d20f6ce6c46ba66afb98d278fbd/frameset.htm
    and for BPM http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/5d/112d20f6ce6c46ba66afb98d278fbd/frameset.htm
    this will be useful.

  • Getting a calendar to show up with a date field when using Adobe Standard 6.0.3

Is the calendar available with this version of Adobe Standard? I know with Adobe Reader 7.0 it is, but we have to use Adobe Standard 6.0.3 and I would like to make use of the calendar.
    Thanks.

The calendar control was only implemented for windows in the AcroForms plugin for Reader 7. There is no alternative in 6.x.

  • MSI, please stop using non-standard keyboard layouts.

God dam it MSI, why do you insist on messing with layout of the bottom row of the keyboard?
You get everything else right, but for some reason when it comes to the bottom row of keys you want to say "Industry standards? 20 years of tradition? Fack that, we're gonna move things around for no facking reason."
Explain to me why you feel the need to put a superfluous "\" key on the keyboard to the right of the space bar. Nobody wanted that, nobody was asking for that, nobody needs that. Why the hell did you do that?
Explain why the Menu key is missing in action.
Explain why you put the Windows key on the wrong side. And while you're at it, explain why you thought this clusterfack of having that second "\" key there in combination with the missing menu key being not where it is on top of the Windows key being in the wrong place was a good idea.
Bottom row of a standard keyboard layout goes like this:
Ctrl, Fn, Alt, Win, Space bar, Alt, Win, Menu, Ctrl.
    MSI layout goes like.
Ctrl, Fn, Alt Space Bar, \, Alt Gr, Win, Ctrl!
    WHY?!
MSI seems to think that having the keys in the right place so my fingers will know where they are without having to learn key placement all over again is a horrible idea. Instead they seem to think that my fingers should need to relearn the god dam keyboard all over again for no reason at all.
But hey, at least the kept the numpad the same, right?
    GOD DAM IT MSI!
Aparantly MSI logic works like this:
    Everyone uses the numpad.
Nobody uses the trackpad to game.
Delete that numpad that everyone uses, insert fancy trackpad that nobody will use.
    Profit?
What the hell are you people smoking?
Seriously, when is the last time you gamed on a PC with anything other than a mouse in your right* hand? Do you ever use the trackpad when you game? Ever? I own two laptops and I never, ever use the useless trackpad. I hate trackpads. First thing I do when I buy a new laptop? I plug in a mouse. Second thing I do? Disable the god dam trackpad.
*Some left-handed use of mice can occur. See nearest lefties for details. May contain nuts. For external use only.

I had a Gateway FX years ago that was a great laptop, but the "fn" key was at the bottom left instead of ctrl. I used that laptop for years and I was never able to become accustomed to it for gaming (group select ctrl+# ffs) or word processing, so I feel your pain.
That being said, you should be able to re-bind your keys without any problem, and possibly pop off the keys themselves and move them to their new locations if they're the same size and you like that consistency. You can rebind via the registry, or certain bios, or w/ a third party application.
The track pad is essential if you've got limited space and/or aren't a twitch gamer. For non-real time games, there is hardly any advantage to using a mouse over a good track pad.

  • Industry Standards for the Retail Industry

I want to know " SAP recommends which of these Industry Standards for the Retail Industry?
    1.GS1
    2.ANSI ASC X12
    3.eCOM
    4.GSMP
    5.EPCglobal
    6.GDSN
    7.GCI
    8.VICS

SAP has avoided making any recommendations. I specifically asked one of their architects a similar question a couple of weeks ago.
In general the X12 and EDIFACT standards are king within the retail industry. Within the United States X12 has been the default standard for many years and is used by all the giants. Within the European Union EDIFACT is the default standard and is used by the vast majority of retailers. However the UK has a standard which is called Tradacoms. In my experience UK retailers have, when pushed, also offered EDIFACT messaging. It should be noted that these formats are not XML. However many XML convertors exist for them. X12, EDIFACT and Tradacoms are what are commonly referred to as Traditional EDI.
The GS1 standard called eCOM is being increasingly adopted. I do know that Accenture and CapGemini have recently been heavily involved in promoting GS1 and eCOM. This is because eCOM standard is realistically the most heavily backed replacement for the Traditional EDI standards. The several of the largest US and European retailers and manufactures are now throwing their weight behind eCOM.

  • Industry Standards - What are they?

    Hi everyone,
I need to know what industry standards usually are when it comes to video. I know that Audio is usually 48 Kh with a frame rate of 29.97 for broadcast and 24 for film. However, what I don't know are compression settings that will help me keep my videos in great quality. Is there an industry standard when it comes to compression? From what I've read on the boards, i know that DVD's use MPEG-2 video, but is this the same standard that professionals use? If so, what is a good guide for my settings?
Also, I've read on the boards that if I were to use Compressor on my videos to fit them on a DVD I would need to use the MPEG-2 DVD setting, however I do not have an MPEG-2 setting that specifically says MPEG-2 DVD. I have numerous MPEG-2 presets, and each has a drop down box that lists DVD PCM Audio, but I just don't know enough to make heads or tails of it and the manual doesn't really seem to explain what any of these settings are/do. Thusfar, I have used DVD Studio Pro for my videos, and it compresses everything to DVD. It's taking videos that are arond 45 minutes long and 10 Gigs and sizing them down to around 1.2 gigs. Is this good? Should my files be sized down THAT much?
If anyone could help me out with this or at least point me in a good direction to get insight on this, I would appreciate it. I realize this is quite a few questions and they probably make no sense. I am a stickler for quality, though, and I want to make sure I'm doing all this RIGHT, not just doing it.
    Thanks.

Well, I can qualify it with my experience, and I can explain it with facts. It is my experience and that of most people I hear from that it is the highest quality - for shorter work.
CBR uses one datarate throughout the program - no matter whether it's fast-moving action or black screen. So data is "wasted" on the black frames but the highest quality possible (within the parameters you set) is used everywhere.
VBR uses lower datarate where it thinks it can get away with it. That saves space on the disk, but even in the data-hungry parts it is limited to the parameters you set.
Unfortunately Compressor and friends just don't generally do a good job deciding where to save space. Except perhaps in truly expert hands.
As far as I know the only reason to ever uuse VBR is if you're trying to max out disc capacity. Which is a perfectly good reason.
But there's no reason to get into that if you're just getting your feet wet and/or you have projects less than 60 or even 90 minutes.
