When will Adobe Flash work on Firefox 4.0 - I have had to go back to IE and don't like it

I received notification of an update to Firefox 4.0, went ahead and installed it and then had a lot of problems. Narrowed it down to Shockwave Flash 10.2.153.1 add-on. If this is enabled, FF will hang. If it isn't enabled, a lot of the value of the internet is lost.
Adobe suggests it is a 64-bit problem with IE and recommends using Firefox...
I have reinstalled both multiple times, anti-virus turned off, have lost various stored preferences and user information in the process.
Does installing an old version of Firefox work?

When the screen goes black, can you try hitting CTRL+Q to quit the program? Let us know if that quits the program and restores the screen back to normal.
Here's how to start Firefox in safe mode and reset all your prefs to see if that fixes the problem: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Resetting%20preferences?s=safe+mode&r=2&e=es&as=s

I love my IPad BUT when will adobe flash be available?
    Thank you

Since most of the mobile devices are being converted to Adobe Air instead of the native flash, finding a official release for Apple devices probably wont happen, the devices that have it now is starting to be a dieing breed.  Adobe has already reported considering discontinuing flash for mobile device.

  • When will Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 support iOS 5.1 and the retina display?

I have installed Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 along with the Adobe AIR 3.3 SDK and am understanding that there isn't support for iOS 5.1 nor the Retina display devices, is this correct?  If so, when will this be available?  If not, what is a good workaround?
    Thanks,
    N.M.

note sure if I'm much help other than to CONFIRM it is working for me by using the sdk WITHOUT the compiler. Check out adobe's little note: "Note : Flex users will need to download the original AIR SDK without the new compiler."
I am using FB 4.7 with AIR 3.6 and seems to compile correctly for iOS.
    Maybe try reinstalling flash builder?
I honestly don't know if the JRE has anything to do with it... I'm using 1.7 ....to see what JRE you're using, open the Java Control Panel (I right click my java orange icon and hit properties), select the Java tab, then hit "View..."

  • When will Adobe Flash  Player be available for my Windows Phone 7?

I have the new Samsung Focus SGH-i917 Windows Phone 7. When I visit news pages that require Adobe
flash player, I can't play the videos. When I try to download the player I get an error message that it is not supported .

If it's Android 4.0 there will be no further development of Flash Player. Android dropped all support for Flash last year, and Adobe isn't developing for it anymore as a result.
There  are alternatives to Flash for Android devices:
You can find info about "Dolphin" for Android at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser It seems to be the browser of choice to play Flash content on an Android device.
Also, check the Android forums to see what their "gurus" recommend.

  • When will adobe flash player become compatible with google nexus7 android tablet?

Also, I just found by your site that elearning is by Adobe. Why can't i access elearning on the nexus with Google Chrome? Why do I have to use Firefox?

Here's the official blog post on the state of Browser-based Flash Player on Android:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/flash-player-and-android-update.html
I don't think the folks that work on eLearning monitor the Flash Player forums.
You'll want to post that question over in the eLearning Suite forums: http://forums.adobe.com/community/elearning
Also, moving this over to the Using Flash Player forum, as it's not specific to the Flash Player 11.5 Beta.

  • MP4 embeding...when will it ever work on FireFox?

As someone who deals with video media on the web quite often, this handicap inherent in Firefox is a fairly big and ridiculously obvious problem. When, if ever, will it be resolved? If Firefox wasn't such a popularly used browser, this issue wouldn't be as much of a concern, but people ''are'' using Firefox quite a bit on-line. It seems very strange to me that this otherwise excellent browser from Mozilla can't play back a simple MP4 file in HTML 5.
''"Firefox doesn't support MP4 and 3GP due to their patent-encumbered nature."''
Is there a way of resolving that at any point? If not, is there a reliable format that I should switch to instead of MP4, like Flash? I'm aware that there are plugins available to make Firefox "see" MP4 files, but asking customers to download and install a plugin is not really a professional solution. Please advise! Thank you.

  • Which version of Adobe Flash works properly with Mac operating systems?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=no0Fn_gIoCo
On Xat Flash Chatrooms it freezes. I thought Adobe Flash Beta 12 would fix my problem of the chats animations and chat freezing but it only temporarily fixed it because when I rebooted my Mac it still freezes the animation and chat! The latest versions of Adobe Flash non-beta Adobe Flash 11 something freezes too! Which specific Version of ADOBE Flash works properly on Mac OSX? NONE?
I'm on Safari Browser and Mavericks 10.9 OSX.
    Specs:
    Haswell 3.4ghz
    graphics card: gtx 760
    4 gigs of ddr3 ram
Macbook 2009: My other mac that does it too
    Intel duo 2 core 2.13ghz
    4gigs ddr2 ram
I believe my macbook is running Nvidia 9400m 250mb card
So each Mac that has had this problem is running Nvidia tho I don't know if thats the problem and I doubt it is. I'm sure it's a bug in Adobe Flash and Apple not caring enough to address the problems with Adobe Flash not working properly. If the two companies can't get a long, then why doesn't apple spend a little bit of money making their own compatible Flash for their safari browser?
My friend who is a girl that I talked to on Xat said that she has a Macbook I think from 2010 or 2011 running Mavericks and her Macbook does not freeze. Is there an explanation to why my Macbook 2009 freezes in Adobe Flash and if there's a solution to it? Is her Macbook running ati card maybe?
This is becoming very frustrating, so I need a solution. It does this on my Macbook and my Desktop Mac both which have Nvidia gpus.

The latest Flash 11 works fine for me on Mavericks, on every site that plays videos.
I have no idea what Xat Flash Chatrooms is (and really have no interest), but it sounds like the issue is with that site, as Flash in general works for literally tens of millions of people on most other sites.

  • Got a new dell laptop. adobe flash works on IE but not with Firefox. Manual installation failed. help!

When trying to install adobe plugin, it fails, as does trying to do it manually. When trying manually, it says to close firefox then it will work but it doesn't. Again, when under IE, adobe flash works but I prefer Firefox.

In step one you would have downloaded that file, if Firefox is using the normal configurations you should find it in the same location where you download any other files.
To find out where Firefox downloads files, in the options window go to the general panel and it should show where files are downloaded to. Alternatively if Firefox stores the history of downloaded files, open the downloads window (you can do that by using keyboard shortcut Control+J), right-click on the install_flash_player.exe entry in the download window and select "Open containing folder"

  • When will Adobe Muse will integrate responsive design (like bootstrap twitter). Will you work on this or no ?

When will Adobe Muse will integrate responsive design (like bootstrap twitter). Will you work on this or no ?

    Hi Gaurav,
Yes, thank you. However I was more specifically referring to this:
"Sites that use responsive web design, i.e. sites that serve all devices on the same set of URLs, with each URL serving the same HTML to all devices and using just CSS to change how the page is rendered on the device. This is Google’s recommended configuration."
You can find that on this Official Google Webmaster Central Blog.
I would think that Adobe might want to open their ears to Google's recommended configuration. No? Isn't it about time that Adobe starts listening to their customer base (and Google)? We've been tirelessly asking for responsive design for years.
Regarding:  "Adobe Muse works perfectly when it comes to Separate URLs". True ONLY if you can get it to (re)direct correctly. Since they introduced multi device layouts I (and others) have never been able to get the correct version to display on any of my tablets (Archos & Samung Tab 2, 3, 4). The phone site would always show up on the tablet even though the hierarchy for the tablet is: Tablet/Desktop/Phone. Adobe has acknowledged this issue exists and has done nothing to solve it. How again does that help me?

  • Adobe flash crashes in Firefox but not with Internet Explorer

I don't wish to go back to an earlier version of Adobe flash as the earlier version caused other problems.i.e. with RealPlayer. Why is it that the latest Adobe flash works perfectly with Internet Explorer but will not work with Firefox.
Is there any way I can get it to work with Firefox, rather than when the problem occurs having to download IE and start again?
    Would appreciate your advice. Thanks

  • Why Do I Have Multiple Versions of Adobe Flash Plugins in FireFox

    Hello,
I usually have 2 versions of Adobe Flash plugins installed in Firefox at the same time: the most recent version and the prior version which remains behind after an update. I usually disable the older version but sometimes this also affect the updated version leaving me without Flash capability in FireFox.
This week I updated FireFox's Adobe Flash plugin to 12.0.0.43 but was surprised to discover the 2 prior Flash versions also remained. Now Firefox had 3 versions of Adobe Flash plugins. I discovered the Adobe Flash uninstaller and uninstalled all Flash from my computer. Surprisingly when I reinstalled Flash player in FireFox, again 2 versions were installed: 12 and 11. I attempted to use the uninstaller on FireFox alone but it did not recognize the older Flash plugin, only the updated version 12.
The recent Adobe Flash update, version 12, is a 'Critical Security' update. Therefore, I am a bit anxious to resolve this issue. I hope you can assist me with this issue.
    Thank you.
    Windows 7
    Home Premium (64 bit)
    FireFox 26'''bold text'''

I might have thought the uninstaller would have found and deleted the old FlashPlayer. Maybe it was a custom install and in an odd location. (I suppose another possibility is that registry entries are wrong).
Try totally uninstalling FlashPlayer using the Windows Control panel, before re-installing. Then check with the FlashPlayer uninstaller before reinstalling again.
Note whilst doing this that Windows Internet Explorer has its own FlashPlayer plugin that is separate. You will need to reinstall both the Fx fox & IE plugins afterwards. Also note that for 32bit Firefox you will need the 32 bit FlashPlayer.
