I've been outside the U.S. for 16 months, and I haven't used my iTunes account. Is it still active? Until how long? What can I do from overseas to keep it alive?

Start here (change country if necessary) and navigate to 'Password and Security', reset your security questions using the link provided, you will receive an email to your rescue address, use the link in the email and reset your security questions.
If that doesn't help, you don't receive a reset email or you don't have a rescue address, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

How to sync when setting up another iTunes account

My son just turned 13 and I want him to start using his own iTunes account. He had been using mine (I have an iPad and an iPhone) but I'd like him to start using his own account. I set up an iTunes account for him and figured out to do the home sharing so that he can import apps from my library that he wants. These apps now show up on his computer under his iTunes account. However, when we try to sync apps, it looks like it will erase everything he has on his iPod and replace with what we have checked, which is fine but will it erase all the folders and force him to set those up again? Is there no way for it to keep the apps that he already has in the folders they are already in? I'm not sure if I'm explaining this right but hopefully someone has done this before for their kids and nows what I'm asking.

No. Its not possible.
Alternatively, create another user account in your computer. Install iTunes in that account with the library you wish to sync.

"None" is not an option when setting up new iTunes account

When you google the words, 'itunes without a credit card' the first result is: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534 which says that all you have to do is download a free app, then agree to the terms and conditions and choose your country then....
Select "none" as you payment method.
I've been looking for a solution for this everywhere and I keep finding conflicting reports, but I can tell you with certainty that "none" is not listed when I try this method.
So with that in mind, can anyone tell me how to set up an itunes account (for my daughter if that makes a difference) without entering a credit card? I don't want my daughter to be able to spend hundreds of pounds in the app store.
I am so frustrated by this that I will send £10 paypal to the person who gives me the solution.

The idea is that no CC or money is needed to create an account for free apps (and iTunes artwork).
I have forwarded a suggestion to the forum hosts and asked them to review the article and add to make sure the user logs out when using an iPhone to create a new account (as is shown for the computer).

The iTunes account is nothing more than the users login details, payment information, and purchase history.
Media is only where the user put it.
Copy the media from the old computer or the backup of the old computer to the new computer.
There is absolutely no logical reason why anyone would expect that media would magically appear on a new computer simply because they signed in with their Apple ID.

I have 8.1 and iTunes and its working. My cloud doesn't so I had to remove the 'sync contacts and calendar to the cloud' and to back to the old say, but I just synced my iPad and iPos (both running 7.0.3) last night and it worked.
There are features with 8.1 that may be messing things up. For example there's a setting when you upgrade to 8.1 where you can turn off the automatic install of drivers. With devices, every time the iOS and iTunes updates there is a new driver to make your device visible on a computer. If you turn off that auto install then you may have blocked your computer from getting that driver.
In addition, with iOS7 there came the 'do you trust this computer' which is a choice you have to make on your device. If you tell your device no, then it may have issues connecting to your computer.

When will Apple fix ITunes to work with Windows 7 (64)?

After many attempts, iTunes (10.5.1) can not synchronized with iPod . If I import musics or create a personal folder, all info will disappear after I close and re-open later iTunes. However works perfectly under Windows XP. It looks like an incompatibility problem between these two... When will Apple stop denying this and fix the problem? Two other friends have Windows 7 and they experience the same problem! All programs (iTunes, QuickTime and Bonjour were uninstalled and all folders removed from the computer. Even regestries were cleaned up!....Re-installed twice but iTunes still not function normally as far as synch features.

I don't know about iPod, but I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and other than a current problem accessing the iTunes store, it seems to work OK. I can sync my iPhone fine. Do you have a conflict with another software package you are running, like an anti-virus or firewall? It might not be, but in troubleshooting sync problems with my PC and iPhone previously, I found that I had a conflict with a firewall. The firewall has since been updated and is behaving nicely with iTunes now, but they can sometimes be a problem. Anyways, I hope this helps, but thought I'd mention that my Win7 x64 and iTunes 10.5.1 seems to sync OK in case it helps you to look for other causes to the problem.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes.
Restart the PC first.
If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".
If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", and click "Change". Select "Repair" and click "Next" as per the following screenshot:

I saw Apple saying that iTunes 11 would be released in october but due to recent researched, I cannot find when it will be released. I guess it's in november, but does anyone have a date? This app would make my library much easyer to use! Thanks a lot guys!

When will apple debug itunes 8?

itunes 7.x worked great, foolishly I "upgraded" to itunes 8, and now itunes will not even open. Looking at the boards this is not unique, so why won't apple give access to early versions.
An another thing, why does it have to be so hard to copy my own ripped CDs to more than one computer????

Help! I "upgraded" to version 8 when prompted. My music is stored on an external hard drive. Now my computer shows less than 10% of music is now available (back on the internal drive and these few files are deleted from the external hard drive!). When I go into Edit/Preferences/Advanced and change back the folder location (that the "upgrade" V8 install automatically changed), iTunes will not recognize any of the music files on the external hard drive. I am able to find and play the files (not via iTunes) on the external hard drive so I know they are not lost.
How do I get the changed files back to the external hard drive that were moved during the upgrade and get iTunes to recognize those files stored on the external hard drive?

I have a fifth gen Ipod and have changed computers. I was not able to transfer all the music over when I created an itunes account on the new computer. How can I save all the songs on my ipod and upload new ones? It wants to sync with my new account.
