When will Apple sort out import issue with new itunes?

As it says... when will I see "gracenote" syncing, album, track, and cover art etc. when importing?
Message was edited by: KFF

My question and concern is related to what you are saying. I am not sure about your exact concern though. I don't really know what gracenotes is.
My own concern is that I simply cannot find itunes to be functional at all for importing or burning CDs.
How can this be functional if you can only burn playlists? That decision in the new iTunes may be nice for Apple if they want to sell more media or make it more difficult to easily copy stuff. The problem is that anytime you import a CD, the tracks don't necessarily go into the library perfectly. You alway end up with Duplicates. Why on earth would they make the the one thing that people like to do: drop a CD in and copy it with perfect reproducibility more difficult? If you try this with a mixed CD, it will not only mess up your library temporarily and make you have to corral all of these files just to create a playlist and burn the stupid thing, but it wastes so much time. It can also makes a huge mess with duplicates in your library. I cannot tell you how frustrating this is. I will never use the most updated version of iTunes again unless there is something I am missing. If anyone knows an easier way to go about this please let me know.
Thanks,
Robert

When will apple sort out the scrolling issues on iOS versions of iTunes and the App Store?
It seems impossible to get the horizontal scrolling to work smoothly and in a way that doesn't result in some albums/apps in the row being skipped.

Working fine for me. Have tried resetting or restoring?

When will Apple put out a new mapping program. Google maps program seemed to work a lot better than this one.

We don't know. Apple rarely if ever announces when updates will be available in advance.

  • When will Apple stop binding their clients with wasted memory and space?

There are many like myself that will never use some of the built-in apps yet they persist all The same.
With no legal means of removal through iTunes, these apps degrade the product.
When will Apple create the option many of their clients want and allow these superfluous apps to be removed?

Until if/when Apple announce something nobody on here will know, and speculation about Apple and their policies isn't allowed here

  • Serious Issues with New Itunes Release

I'm having serious issues with my Itunes. If I right click on any of the songs and go to reveal in Windows Explorer (so i can find the darn things) it removes pretty much every option from the right click menu, refuses to play music and if i shut down ITunes and try to restart it it refuses to open again. I've tried unistalling and reinstalling the software and i get the same issue. any ideas? its driving me insane and i wish i had never upgraded to the new version because the last version was working just fine.

Also I see that Itunes remains in my task manager in the processes section even after I close it down. any ideas would be woooonderful because i can't live without my music...

  • When will DE sort out the authorization bug?

Yet again I've had a customer caught out by Digital Editions breaking the user licensing info when authorising. Customer purchased ebook, installed Digital Editions and skipped the authorisation step (even though my store tells them this will cause problems), downloads ebook, and then afterwards decides to authorise with an Adobe ID so they can transfer the ebook to another PC using the same Adobe ID. Result: ebook is not readable on the original PC because DE doesn't change the associated ID in the PDF during the authorisation process. The error message is (according to the customer)
license server communication problem : E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER
I did post about it on the old forums with no useful response from Adobe, and I'd heard (obviously incorrectly) that this had been corrected in 1.7, but this customer only installed Digital Editions yesterday so this appears to not be the case. When will this be fixed? Looking at a few of the other posts in this forum I see the same issue is apparent with other users. Back in the "old days" using Reader when authorisation was required there was a lot less hassle being a retailer than there is now.
Oh, and I can't open a support case because I'm not the person affected. I've directed my customer to open a case, and I'm resetting the order in ACS so the ebook can be downloaded fresh using the Adobe ID, but this really is something Adobe should have addressed long ago.
I wonder how long DRM has left to go ... Microsoft Press is going to DRM free distribution of their ebooks through O'Reilly Safari, and with Barnes & Noble having decided to use Fictionwise/eReader DRM in their ePub files there's going to a lot more confusion reigning about the place of DRM. Personally I'd like to see it go completely, but as a retailer I understand why publishers want it. It's a shame that the dominant DRM ebook reader software on the market can't get this right, it's probably contributing heavily to the push towards DRM free retailing.

Working fine for me. Have tried resetting or restoring?

  • When will Apple update Safari to work with Yahoo! business mail?

This doesn't seem right to have this issue with so many users and not have a fix.

I disagree, there are a bunch of other posts with people having the same problem. And it only recently started after a Safari update. Those of us who have gone to Yahoo! about it get responses like this:
"I understand you are not able to switch between your Yahoo and business
    email account.
+"First I would like to confirm that you are using Safari to access your+
+emails. The reason why you are having this problem is because of the+
+recent updates that Apple has done on Safari. If you have noticed+
+recently Safari got updated and the version updates from version 3.1 to+
+3.2. Which has caused this issue.+
+"We have a lot of our Customers who use there accounts through Safari and+
+every one is having the same problem as you do. This is nothing to do+
+with your account or with the Yahoo! Server as this is something related+
+to Safari which needs to be looked into by Apple. Apple is already aware+
+of this issue. As a work around until they resolve it, you can download+
+Firefox on your computer and use your account through it. As with+
+Firefox you will not have this problem and you will be able to switch+
+between your accounts with no problem.+
We would just like to be able to use Safari for our browsing. We shouldn't have to use Firefox...which by the way does do it, so I doubt it is a Yahoo! issue.

  • When will Apple offer a Security Update with ntp 4.2.8? In the meantime, are there companies/Consultants that provide online help?

I have a Macbook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.1. Have tried to follow steps to patch npt 4.2.8, but it gets a little too complex when it comes to installing the Xcode into Terminal. Has anyone been able to complete this process? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

my online security company has put me out of compliance with PCI because I don't have ntp 4.2.8.
Why would anyone care what versions of software you have on your Mac? I got out of the roll-your-own-credit-card-merchant-account stuff when PCI came along. I really don't know what it requires. If you want to do that though, you need to play it smart. What kind of machine is PCI actually checking? Is this a server or something? Then give them what they want. That doesn't mean you have to use it. I guarantee that all of the massive hacks the past few years of millions of credit card companies were all perpetrated against companies with perfect PCI compliance. That is a regulatory requirement. To be regulated, you must meet that requirement. Don't let requirements dictate security. Instead, handle your security properly. Then, PCI is happy because you meet their automated tests, your customers are happy because their data is secure, and you are happy because you are using a Mac.

  • When will Apple Lossless Music be Available from the iTunes Store?

I have recently rediscovered the wonders of uncompressed music. I bought my first CD player in 1984. The best vinyl records were better then than the best CDs, and still are, but the average CD was a lot better than the average vinyl. The CD average has probably gotten better since then. At some point, I imported the CDs I listened to into my Mac, initially as 128K AAC, and later as 256K AAC, and thought I was still getting good quality. A couple of months ago, I bought an external USB DAC (NuForce Icon µDAC) and some better-than-the-usual-computer-speakers powered monitors (M-Audio AV40). And I reimported my CDs in Apple Lossless format. Oh! Sweet new music!
The difference between 256K AAC and Apple Lossless is subtle, but through good equipment it's still very noticeable. I have lots of music I bought from the iTunes Store over the years, in 128K and 256K AAC. Some of those I've replaced with CD rips, but I don't have all those CDs. I sure would like to be able to upgrade to Apple Lossless through the iTunes Store. I'd be happy to pay the HDTracks.com prices of $12/album or $1.49/track for the privilege, but it isn't available. The best Apple will sell me is 256K AAC. So now I'm getting all my new music from HDTracks.com, who have wonderful recordings, but a small selection, or as CDs from Amazon.
Apple, when are you going to step up to the plate for the audiophiles in your market and sell us Apple Lossless (or FLAC) music? I realize that we aren't nearly as big a market as the teeny-bopper iPod users out there, but we ARE a market, and I for one would happily return to the iTunes Store if I could buy full-resolution music there.

Wonderful question, would be nice if Apple was not so hush-hush about new developments, but alas, that is what they must do to stay on top of the game. I cannot wait for the day when I will open iTunes and see the phrase, "All Downloads now in Full CD Quality Apple Lossless!" Woohoo, what a momentus occasion that will be. Fortunately, we can hope that they will allow upgrades to Apple Lossless just like they did for iTunes Plus (and why wouldn't they, it's a money maker).
I too have only been purchasing cds mostly from amazon to rip in Lossless, and just came across an album of interest to me that is unfortunately only available through iTunes and Amazon. The hard copies of Steve Jablonsky's Transformers Score are only found in highly marked-up quantities on amazon and ebay, so i am left to bite the bullet and purchase the adequate 256kbps AAC version from the iTunes store. At least I don't have to buy Amazon's MP3 coded versions(typed with a smirk).
With the capacity of most iPods ranging between 8 and 160 GBs, I think it is safe to assume that storage space is not really an issue anymore. Let us cross our fingers for Apple Lossless soon(or use those fingers to raise typed awareness).

  • Horrible issues with new iTunes update

I am having a few issues with the new iTnes update:
I cannot find a way to view the album artwork in the bottom left-hand corner like I used to. I can't find the option anywhere! I want to see it.
Some song files have had their song titles, album titles, etc. changed from what I had them listed as. For example, my Footloose file, which used to say the song title was "Footloose" and the album as "Footloose", now shows the song title as "Footloose (from 'Footloose')" and the album title is blank. When I go to try to change it back, it is all greyed out and will not let me change it!
Song files that I had put in more than one album artwork for, (if the song appeared on more than one album, including greatest hits albums and sountracks) the update now lists them as all individual songs from each one of the albums, so I have tons of repeats. I want it to go back to showing me all the album artwork for ONE file.
This new update has completely destroyed my iTunes library. I am NOT HAPPY.

Well its simple. Just go to your finder and search for iphone. You will find a backup folder. But, you should just be able to restore your iphone. Then after restore it will ask which backup your will like to use. Then in the drop down menu select your phones name and it should restore all contacts, text messages and notes as well as bookmarks. It worked fine for me until I used iFuntastic and Apptap. I guess it alterd the backup file and deleted all my notes. So, unless you have "hacked" your phone it should restore and re enter your info fine.

  • Issue with New iTunes

Unfortunatly, I had to restore my computer. I downloaded the new iTunes after restoring, and now I cannot associate my iPod +Nike with my old account. The new iTunes does not allow it. It will only allow me to create a new account, I do not want to lose my old runs and such though!
Does anyone know how I can associate my Nike+ account with the new iTunes????

Ok. I figured it out after my 1st new run. Although iTunes does not let you associate with Nike+ after you install it... after your first new run when you plug in your ipod a dialog will pop up allowing you to associate your iTunes with your account...
Apple Nota Bene: You should be able to associate it right away ... but it's not a techical "flaw" just a minor inconvienence.

  • Issue with new itunes version

    Dear All,
i have a really big issue with the new itunes version. I loaded it today. Besides that every single view changed...
    So coming to my issues:
    1. my playlists changed to a status of Middle of 2011
    2. the songs which i loaded since that and are already on my hdd are only available in the icloud... means to listen to it or to put it to a playlist, means that i would have to load the songs again.... which in my case means 660 Songs.... downloading again on my hdd (means roundabout additional 9 GB of data) and last but not least paying for the 9 GB download...
Is there any chance to link the songs in the playlist again on my hdd, i mean they are still there and i already loaded it down ?!?!?!?!?! In the past it was possible
Hope somebody can help me... and please apple tune back.... itunes is not an easy to use interface anymore... and honestly after having 3 Ipods, 1 Pad and 2 iphones and von itv, i should think about changes... it is already the second time that Itunes completly destroys my playlists and costs me more money.....
    HELP!!!!!!
    Thax in advance

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • Importing playlists with new iTunes

I just got a new computer and transferred all my music but I can't transfer my iTunes playlists. I have my iTunes library files from my old computer (both .itl and .xml) and I've read about a dozen posts on how to do this--seems that they don't apply to the most recent version of iTunes, though. In the new iTunes, there's no "import playlist" option, and opening the files in itunes and/or adding them to the library also doesn't work--none of the playlists transfer.

You need to simply copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to /Music on new computer then open iTunes.

Why does the new update for IPod screw up the function? I can't get on hardly any of my apps, let alone, download any more apps either. I am one unhappy person.

Did you already try to set it up as new device, without using the backup afterwards?
