When will AppleTV stop cluttering my menu choices?

I love my AppleTV but I'm almost at the point of getting rid of it.
I barely need the Movies menu, I will never use the TV Shows item, Music is useless to me and Internet is cluttered wiht so much trash that it's becoming unusuable. NHL, WSJ Live, MBL.TV and Vimeo are worthless to me.
It seems that everytime I update AppleTV, instead of giving me more features it forces more clutter onto my TV. Please Apple, stop assuming you know what I want to watch and let me make the choices myself or pretty soon, I'll be forced to simply restore your device to the factory defaults and ignore the updates.

Unfortunately, the AppleTV2 can only be reset to current firmware not older or shipping versions.
While I don't mind extra features for those who'd use them I agree about clutter and would prefer that any 'extras' were selectable options in Settings not stuck there by default.
The Internet category is the main culprit as all the new stuff of limited appeal has been put at the top of the menu not the bottom.

I believe Apple is all about innovation, simplicity & thinking of the box. Adobe Flash is an old technology - which over the years has not been developed or succeeded with a better offering from Adobe, leaving behind an application that is slow, buggy and a resource hog. When Apple creates technologies it thinks about future, which is the key to success. Like everyone you too should moved on. HTML 5 is the way to go.

hi there, i'd like to know when will apple open some app store here in Slovak Republic.
Man, we're in the 21st century and we are still waiting, like we're the last nation on the planet. If I want to buy some apple product, i have to visit some local distributors with overpriced products (for example iPhone 4s, 16GB for about 800 eur) - that is insane!
Me, as an slovakian, it is not possible to place an order in Czech App Store because, i am not a citizen of Czech Republic.

Apple is not picking on you. Apple would love to have everyone's business. We do not have Apple Stores in Mexico and you cannot get much closer to the USA than Mexico, unless you are in Canada. We do have an Apple on line store. Apple is in the markets that it is allowed to sell in and where it is profitable to do so.

When will apple stop selling the 3GS

When are apple set to stop selling the 3GS as I've got one with apple care and am wondering what will happen if it goes wrong before the apple care runs out.

While they may stop selling them in the next year (as soon as their stock runs out - I'm guessing they're not making many new ones) undoubtedly they will have a sufficient quality put aside for warranty replacement.

I am a Celtic heroes player, a mmo app available in the iTunes store, it will be updated soon, but it will be the last update where iPod 2gen (or ios4) will be supported. Now I play on an iPod 3 gen and I was wondering how long apple will still allow apps to be updated with iPod 3the gen / iOS 5 support.

Safari by default doesn't accept 3rd party cookies and there have been reports that Firefox will follow suit. Any information in terms of the timeline as to when this will come into effect would be much appreciated!

You will probably see the change to only allow third-party cookies from visited sites in Firefox 26 (currently on the Aurora update channel).

When will Intel stop making 875 compatible cpus?

I wanted to know if anyone has any idea at what point Intel is gonna stop making processors that are not compatible with our 875 Neo boards. For example their newest and fastest cpu is the P4 3.2 EE and that is compatible but at what ghz will they no long be compatible. I just wanna know so I can kinda prepare for the future, and I am curious . Or is the limiting factor gonna be our boards? Like our boards wont handle FSB speeds that high...

Well the BIG question is ARE THEY(i875andi865) GOING to be able to support the PRESCOTT CORE?? At first all the MO-BO makers were saying YES!! But as of now it is prety much up in the AIR ..And it is INTEL that has to take the blame!! From what I understand it was INDEED INTEL that told the MO-BO makers that built BOARDS with the i875-i865 that the NEW PRESCOTT would be a shoe in as far as compatability is concerned ..Well now INTEL is having problems trying to get the new CORE to run with the current POWER SPEC.(the current 4-pin 12VOLT plug)...As they are finding it very difficult to do...But have FAITH!! THE ONE THING INTEL DOES NOT WAN'T IS TO WIND UP WITH EGG ON THEIR FACE...I REALLY THINK THEY ARE GOING TO PULL IT OFF....Sean REILLY875

When will Firefox stop eating all my memory?

For the past few versions, Firefox has been a memory hog. I have done a fresh install of my entire OS (Windows 7) and Firefox, ran it with no plugins, and still have the problem. I've got my plugins installed now and it's not much worse than it was before. This is ridiculous. It regularly consumes up to 700+MB of memory and if I don't monitor it carefully, it will creep up to over 1.5GBs. Not even Photoshop is that obnoxious to me.

Ok, I found the solution (for at least my boxes!) Yay!
The trouble is that Firefox changed the amount of HTTP connections it permits simultaneously from 30 (pre version 6) up to 256 for version 7. Each connection uses CPU and Memory!!!!!
I won't ponder why they did that, but the fix is easy:
Lower the max number of HTTP connections
In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter.
The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
In the Filter box at the top, type network.http.max-connections.
Double-click on the network.http.max-connections preference, the "Enter integer value" dialog box will open.
In the field, type 30 which was the default value in old versions of Firefox and click OK.
My version 7.0.1 firefox suddenly started working! Yay!

HT5129 When will iPhoto stop telling me that Mobile Me is gone. I know. I'm over it.

Is anyone else still getting messages about Mobile Me being closed. Its annoying - but not as bad as what happened at first when for some reason it resulted in my emails being dowloaded time and time again and taking up nearly all my HD space. had to go to the Genius Bar to sort it out in the end!

Remove all mention of MM in the iPhoto Preferences and then the SystemPreferences

When is apple going to fix the crashing issue of pages when you activate iCloud... It crashes on the iPad as well as on the iPhone..

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Your system software is way out of date which is why Safari is crashing.
Click the Apple menu icon top left corner of your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update.
Restart your Mac after the updates are installed.
That should bring your Mac OS X from v10.6.4 to v10.6.8 an Safari from 5.0.2 to 5.1.7

When will they stop overcharging for HD?

For one, HD content from iTunes is nowhere near the video quality of an actual HD blu-ray movie. Why do they insist on charging +$10-$15 more to download HD? All new movies/TV shows are shot in HD so it's not like there is extra effort needed to provide the content. Most decent broadband connections make download times between SD and HD negligible.

Not sure what you mean by "insist." The price is clearly marked, and consumers who feel it is not worth it can decide not to buy.

Designer ES is a step backwards in design tools.... when will a new version be released????

After using this tool for a couple of days, I have realized that the Adobe Designer ES application is a huge step backwards.
I have worked with JetForm 99, Designer 5, 7, 7.1, 8 (briefly), 8.1(briefly) and now ES. ES is by far the most unfriendly from the Designer's perspective.
- xfa.host.print is not supported. I cannot print a form to legal sized paper, even though it is set properly on the master page by the new form wizard/assistant.
- read only fields are in the tabbing order.... thereby making them something other than 'read only'.
- when designing, a selection of multiple fields is not maintained from one operation to the next.
- The relationship between a field listed in hierarchy and in the design view is broken.
- duplicating and copying and pasting of objects is different.
Okay, some of these might be growing pains... but not all. So is a new version in the works? When will it be released?
