When will AS10.1.3 includes portal?

When will AS10.1.3 includes portal? which version of portal runs on oc4j 10.1.3?
Thanks,
Yan

This of course raises the question who is Santa Clause at Oracle?
Regards #2, a long time back Grant Ronald confirmed for me that there is a large rewrite of the LOV functionality in the works. I can only assume this was for JSF:
http://www.groundside.com/blog/content/GrantRonald/Forms_in_SOA/2005/04/19/Sharing_with_you_some_of_our_plans.html?page=comments
I notice in this release of ADF Faces (EA 20) that LOVs have still been explicitly left out. This indicates there is a thread of truth in the above comment. Maybe Oracle could comment?
Regards #3, I thought that was in the preview release as an ADF Editable Table? Drag and drop your VO from the Data Control Palette onto your empty page, select tables from the pop-menu, then ADF Editable Table.
Regards #4, some updated doco would be nice too.

    Thanks for your both answers.
Yes, I know that users dont know what Apple is planning. But I saw that Apple people are in the discussion groups as well so I tried it
The feedback form is a good way to tell Apple what could be optimized.
I tried some times to tell my problems with Safari bugs but without any response its like talking to a wall.
I know that for Apple it generate costs to answer but when a good report shows a bug as clear as possible it would be nice to get a "Thank you!".
I wrote to Steve Jobs directly to tell him about cool ways of GUI features Apple hasnt implemented yet, but no response either.
I would say that such ideas makes the difference between a normal and a good system and Apple should be able to say some words.
Yes, I am a bit long in talking about this topic but I think its worth to be mentioned

  • When will Adobe issue an update to Camera Raw to include the Olympus E-M 5 MARK II camera?

When will Adobe issue an update to Camera Raw for CS6 and Lightroom 5 to include the Olympus E-M 5 MARK II camera, does anyone know?

What I wonder is when folks will start researching their favorite software BEFORE buying a new camera model?
I have never seen a cart pulling a horse!!
We know the our software, we know the new camera will be 'ahead' of updates. its the time between that we all seem to just accept. We should not.
We can go round in circles pointing fingers as to who is to 'blame', thats not the point. The point is, no matter how far you go back, since the advent of digital this has been a problem. Posting on all web sites as far back as I remember contain "when will there be RAW support for xyz?". There are even some on this site back in 2006 asking the same question.
The interdependent link between camera makers & software vendors is not working properly. They need each other yet don't support each other. Do you think Adobe thought up DNG just as a exercise? From memory it was an attempt to standardize, with an open code, a raw format that was universal. I blame Canikon for not wholeheartedly supporting it. Then the Oly, Panny alliance come along with MFT, an ideal opportunity, but proprietary issues prevail as if they got some sort of advantage from it. They don't IMO.
Sorry for the rant, got carried away! Its just so frustrating.

  • When will ID Include Integrated Kindle .mobi Export?

    InDesign Mavens,
Can anyone shed any light regarding why Adobe has yet to include Kindle .mobi generation (export) as an integrated function in InDesign?
The release of InDesign CC further illuminates this problem...KDP's latest Kindle Plugin for Adobe InDesign (PERPETUAL BETA) v0.9.7.3 does not appear to support InDesign CC.
Really...by now...why is it necessary for Adobe to force InDesign users to rely on a third-party, perpetually BETA plugin for so many years in order to gain access to one of the largest (if not the largest) eBook marketplaces?
WHEN WILL ADOBE integrate Kindle .mobi generation into InDesign?
Do you want .mobi export integrated into InDesign? Please indicate your request in the comments below (hopefully someone from Adobe InDesign's Product Management group will get the message).

My apologies for the delayed response. Also, my apologies for the incorrect assumption about InCopy exporting to Word. I should have limited my response to things I have better knowledge of… but in my defense, I had just read this snippet in the InCopy manual and it seemed fairly clear, so I went with it:
    Export InCopy documents
You can save all or part of an InCopy document in a different file format. In most cases, each component (for example, text frames and graphics) in an InCopy document is exported to a separate file. The exception is exporting an InCopy document to Adobe PDF, which copies all of the text and graphics in a document to a single PDF file.
    Do one of the following:
To export text, click in the text with the Type tool  .
To export a graphic, click the graphic with the Position tool  .
    Choose File > Export.
Specify a name and location for the exported content, and then select a format under Save As Type.
The XML format appears in the list only if XML tags have been added to the document. If you are exporting text and don’t see a listing for your word-processing application, you might need to export the text in a format that the application can import, such as Rich Text Format. If your word-processing application doesn’t support any of the InCopy export formats, use the Text Only (ASCII) format.
My assumption was, if InCopy allowed you to export to different file formats, and if it provided a listing of word processor programs, and it gave the option to export to RTF, then Word must be one of the options. Apparently I was wrong. That being said, the point I was making is still valid.
I am questioning the rationale behind Adobes decision to exclude support for the Amazon Kindle reader format. The reason stated here is, “Kindle uses a proprietary format that is not an open standard so why should Adobe spend the resources developing a solution to support it?” In response, I expressed doubt that this is the true reason because Adobe fails to take this position in other applications and I mistakenly provided an invalid example. So allow me to correct this mistake and reiterate that Adobe does not require that a technology or language be an “open standard” in order to incorporate support for the same.
These are examples of Adobe products supporting non-standard technologies (that I have personally verified from with the applications):
Acrobat Pro:      Export to Word and Excel
Certainly these formats are not open standards
    Photoshop:        Save as PXR format
Pixar originally created this proprietary format for use with proprietary Pixar Imaging Computers used in medical imaging applications and, of course, animation. Later it was adopted for use in Pixar’s Renderman and Marionette 3D animation programs. I didn’t research other image formats, but my guess is the majority are proprietary and not open standards.
Fireworks:          Export to Lotus Domino Designer
Really? Is this what Adobe considers an open standard?
Dreamweaver:  Create files of type: ASP + Java Script, ASP + VB Script, ASP.NET C#, ASP.NET VB
Obviously these are proprietary Microsoft technology solutions.
I think this demonstrates Adobe’s position on open standards fairly well, and as to the question of “Why” Adobe should support Kindle: for the same reason Adobe supports all the other, non-standard technologies. Because developers need it and Adobe is in the business of providing tools for developers. With regard to the characterization that Plane Wryter’s workflow is somehow “non-standard” is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, it might be true that the majority of Adobe’s ePub developers have no need for the Kindle tools. However, Plane Wryter and I (and every other independent developer and small ISV) cannot afford to limit our options and exclude potential clients based on (stupid) limitations imposed by our chosen development tools. We must remain flexible in order to survive. Adobe should recognize this and make an attempt to provide for our needs as well as the needs of their big enterprise customers.
Adobes position on this is a perfect example why I always look for tools created by smaller providers who have a vested interest in catering to the needs of the little guy. That’s why I chose tools from companies like Frame Technology Corp (creators of FrameMaker), eHelp/Blue Sky Software (creators of the RoboHelp product line) Aldus (providers of PageMaker, Freehand, and PhotoStyler), and Macromedia (creators of Flash, Shockwave, and Dreamweaver). I originally began to use these titles when they were competitors of Adobe, but they have since been acquired. It’s unfortunate that Adobe doesn’t see the value in continuing to provide small companies and individual developers with flexible tools. What other option does the little guy have except to look for alternatives from companies who still have an incentive to provide the tools we need?
In conclusion, I don’t buy the “not an Open Standard” excuse for excluding support for the Amazon formats. It’s an excuse of convenience and one that is not reflected by other Adobe products. The real reason Adobe isn’t providing development tools for Kindle is most likely tied to their Digital Editions reader application. I can see some Adobe Fat-Cat exec sitting at his desk on the 30th floor, with his feet up and chair leaned back, smoking a Gurkha (a very expensive cigar) of course, saying something like, “what kind of sense (puff) does it make (puff puff) to invest money and resources into (puff) a new ePub reader program, then (puuuufff) turn around and offer development tools (puff pu pu puff) for our competitors products? It doesn’t that’s what! Needles to say, we will NOT offer Kindle development tools (puff)”.
This sounds closer to the truth than that silly line about open standards. I don’t know about the rest of you guys, but I have a thing about being fed a line from a uber-mega-corp that’s acquired the vast majority of it’s product line through shrewd business practices. Do I honestly think they consider my needs as a developer? Naahh, not really. I’m going to follow Plane Wryter’s lead since Adobe leaves no other option.
One last word of caution to Plane Writer, I don’t like the way Steve Werner wished you luck with Vellum… (nothing personal Mr. Werner) but it almost sounded like “Good luck with Vellum, Adobe will be acquiring them real soon… “  Call me paranoid, but history speaks for itself, doesn’t it? If it’s a good product that’s competing with Adobe, then they will want it. (can you feel the walls closing in?)

    Question
I am unable to open certain pages on sites. I have to switch over to IE because the new Firefox update is not accomodated on their websites! When will this be fixed... sites included Ameritrade, FAFSA, and others...

First and foremost, you should update to 3.6.17 because the version you're running at the moment is insecure and exposes your system to attack. Update via '''Help '''| '''Check For Updates'''.
That may even fix the problem since several minor bugs were also fixed in later versions.
Similarly, after updating, go to the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update those which are necessary.
If the problem persists, try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
I didn't experience a problem myself accessing any of those sites you mentioned. See screenshot.

Verisign announced a new CA certificate in October 2010, Verisign Class 3 Secure Server G3. When will this be included in the CA list of the browser? It is in other browsers already (IE, Safari, etc), yet in Firefox you're currently prompted with a security warning for a trusted CA.

That is one of the intermediate certificates that VeriSign is using. Intermediate certificates are part of the chain that is formed by the web server certificates and build-in root certificates. Such an intermediate certificate needs to be send by the server and is not included by default in Firefox. Firefox will store such an intermediate certificate for future use when a website sends it.

  • When will iLife'09 come out & when will it be included in the leopard disk?

I'm about to purchase leopard, but since it's so close to the new year, I started thinking about iLife. If I got leopard now, then iLife would be out in no time and I would have to spend another $80 to get the update. But if I waited a little bit, I could get it with iLife'09 already installed on the disk. So when exactly will the new version of iLife be out, and more importantly, will it be included in the disk immediately (once they ship of course) or will there be a delay? Or will they not even include it in Leopard and wait until Snow Leopard comes out? Please and thank you.

    Hi basstome97;
The fallacy in your plan is that iLife is not part of Leopard. So it doesn't matter when you buy Leopard you will not get iLife. In order to get any version of iLife you have to buy it.

When will IAS9.0.4 be released !!!

Indeed it's very confusing. This week I also heard that version 9.0.2.6 will be released in the end of March, including the upgrade scripts.
The release date for 9.0.4 is not set yet, but they told me that upgrading from 3.0.9 to 9.0.4 will NOT be supported. So, we all have to migrate first to 9.0.2. I do not know whether you've tried it yet, but one of the biggest problems is that virtual hosts (and ssodatax) are not working in that version. So, if you have more than one domainname pointing to your portal-server, it will not be possible anymore to keep the url as the user typed it in. By the way, version 9.0.2 is the first "major release" and would it be wise to use that version for large production sites?
It is also very alarming that 904 takes so long. We only wanted a nice WYSIWIG editor for the text items and got a completely new product 902. Perhaps 904 will be totally new as well....

You log enhancement requests through Metalink.
The procedure is documented in Metalink document 166650.1 as follows:
How to Log an Enhancement Request:
Create a new Service Request in MetaLink.
On the Create a SR - Brief Description screen, in the Type of problem field, select Enhancement Request.
Important factors to remember when filling out the Enhancement Request Service Request template and creating the Service Request:
Fully describe why the current product functionality does not meet your needs.
Explain in detail the enhancement you would like implemented
If possible, describe how the product can be changed to achieve the desired results.
Describe your business expectations. Include key milestone dates and justifications as to why this request is so important and the benefits your organization stands to gain should this request be accepted.
Once your Service Request has been created, it will be assigned to a Support Engineer who will validate your information. In some cases, your request may be a new or known product defect that the Support Engineer can either provide a fix, a workaround, or introduce to Oracle Development for resolution. In other cases, you may be presenting a valuable product enhancement that can improve Oracle product functionality. In all cases, the Support Engineer will be able to qualify your request and pass along the information to Oracle Development.
Once the Support Engineer validates your request, and an agreed upon action plan is created, your Support Engineer will create a new Enhancement Request and provide you with an Enhancement Request tracking number. The BUG search tool on MetaLink can then be used to receive status updates.
Please note that the Support Engineer will close the SR once the enhancement has been logged.

  • When will these issues with iOS 8.0.2 be fixed?

Admittedly, this problem has been going on since Apple released the core iOS 8 software, but it's glaring (worse) here. Let's go to the beginning.
I own an iPhone 4S 8gb and upon release of the core iOS 8 software, I installed it like a fool and I didn't know that a lot of problems came with it, so the next morning, my iPhone's internet (connected to a WiFi network) was shotty as sin and I really needed it at the time because of a Transit thing I was doing until recently. The features that came with the iOS 8 is impressive, but I also was shocked when I couldn't even listen to my music for a whole day (I fixed that when I hooked up and synced in iTunes), despite my library having the same number of songs before the update on the iPhone. Now, I've heard of these problems from a friend who apparently works for the Apple tech department days after I discovered them myself, so I waited for the next update in hopes that it'd fix all of the core iOS 8's problems, but... short and to the point, this update is even worse than the core software. Problems include, but not limited to:
Safari lags like crazy at times, especially when you're trying to type something. Also, Safari seems to not direct you to Google unless you searched for the topic again; I don't like doing that. I like typing in a research topic in Google's engine only once.
Siri is much worse than the 7.1.2 software; the assistant can't tell what you're saying 69% of the time. I'm also not pleased with holding the home button to speak to the assistant and continue holding it until you finish speaking to her/him.
Apps freeze and become unresponsive and in common cases, they crash in the middle of the night (a perfect example would be YouTube) while I'm sleeping (not 100% sure who's to blame for this, Apple or the app developers themselves).
(refer to the lagging Safari bullet) The keyboard lags on you badly and I'm not just talking about Safari, this problem is every where you need the keyboard in, including basic texting in iMessage.
The Music app apparently can't judge your selection at times, like, when you select a song from your library, it takes 3 hard pushes on the touchscreen to select it and sometimes, it randomly selects the next song under the one you want to listen to.
Did I mention the constant lag?
I'll probably find more problems as I scan though the iPhone tonight, but above are the main problems that I have with 8.0.2, not 8. I know what you're probably saying: "Why not just downgrade back to 7.1.2 where you didn't have barely any problems at all with your iPhone?" Well, apparently, Apple stopped signing the software when I tried to restore the iPhone in iTunes to that firmware, so I find it completely pointless to try to downgrade. My core question is "When will these issues with iOS 8.0.2 be fixed?" I know the iPhone 4S can work with the newest iOS, because, if it wasn't, iTunes wouldn't have notified me of the update. I was thinking of getting an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus June or July of next year, but if the software is still buggy at the time, I'll stick to my 4S until my contract ends at the end of 2015

Also, I've noticed that the 4S' battery life is horrible even if there's just music going on in the background. Common battery life for the iPhone is 3 hours (just having music and data active) and most of the time, I'd have to carry my USB charging cable with wall socket so I don't have to worry about it shutting down on the go and I know it's the software that's the problem because it wasn't like this prior to iOS 8.0.2 or even the core iOS 8. Common battery life for the iPhone on iOS 7.1.2 was atleast 7-9 hours on the same conditions as listed above.

  • HT4757 When will Apple iPhoto/Aperture support the new Leica V-Lux 4 camera RAW format ?

I just bought a Leica Vlux-4 and found that the current verisons of Aperture and iPhoto do not reconize the RAW files like they do for earlier versions and all of the Canon & Nikon DSLR's.  I see from the support doc that Apple supports the Vlux-1 and 2, so when will RAW support be added for the Vlux-4 ?
I dont want to move to Lightroom but it already supports the Vlux-4 camera !
    Thanks.

while this all may be true,
it is all speculation, and we are not supposed to speculate here; Apple does not publish the reasons for missing raw support, and for the Vlux-4 it is early days yet. There may very well be a raw update including your camera soon. The only difference I see, is that the the Vlux-1 & 2 did not come with Lightroom included, only with PSE, and the support stopped, when Lightroom was included - the direct competition to Aperture.
Send feedback to Apple to let them know!
