I used the Premium telephonie equipment for mobile devices in my VW Tiguan 2012) together with my BB9900. It worked perfect. Via rSAP ( remote SIM-Access-Profile) the phone was alreday connected to the car equipment and I had all the features (e.g. using the external antenna, etc.).
Now I migrated to the new Z10 and get HFP (Hands-Free-Profile) only. This means bad reception, short battery times and unnecessary much radiance in the car. I heard that rSAP doen't exist for the Z10 up to now. How are the plans for implementation?

surely they can sell ip4 without contract but do you have an account AT&T? Because I believe you still need an account with AT&T in order to buy the phone. And even if you do buy it without contract, your still locked to AT&T.
I suggest getting the ipod touch instead.

Your site has been crashing a lot lately... I suspect due to upgrades? However, taking away the AOL toolbar is a major *downgrade* for me. When will it again be available, or is there a secondary replacement toolbar I can use for the sites I had bookmarked?

HP When will I be able to scan again?

Since upgrading to 10.5.x, my photosmart 2575 has been giving me errors during scanning. Most typical error is:
"The function you have requested cannot be performed because another program already has control of the device. If the program currently using the device, save any unsaved work, close the program, and try again."
I've tried installing the latest driver & software from the HP site, version 9.7, but the outcome is the same.
I tried Vuescan but it does not work with network devices.
Any suggestions or AIO suggestions are appreciated. At this time, I'm considering leaving HP in favor of another brand that is more Mac friendly.

I called them and was told that I would have to pay for support since the unit was over a yr old. I said no problem and opted for the one event support for $35.00. This took about 20 mins to set up. Then I was transfered to support. After being on hold for another 20 mins, support answers, "what OS do you have? XP or Vista?". It did not matter that I told the automated service and the rep MAC OS X. So this guy transfered me to Mac support. There I was on hold for 35 mins. While still on hold I called back from another phone and had to go thru all the menus and their script because GOD forbid they deviate from it. After another 13 mins, I was transfered to Mac Support. All this time my other line was still on hold for MAc support. After being on hold for about a min on the recent call, I get a message saying thank you for calling mac support but that they are closed. At this point I hung up both lines. Called hp support again to ask for a refund since I could not wait until Monday. After going thru all the menus and their scripts, I get transfered to the person that could issue the refund. That's what I was told but to my surprise, she transfered me back to Mac Support. "Sorry but we are closed..." message. No kidding! I already know that. Hung up called again, answered menus, script and re-explained situation. Transfered to another dept/person who put me on hold for several minutes and finally tells me that I should receive a refund in 2-3 days. This whole thing must have taken over 90mins. No wonder companies are going out of business. Tailored customer service is definitely a lost practice. I don't expect getting a refund but will contest the charge when I get the bill.
HP, it's time to bring tech support back to the USA.

When will Apple be supplying new stock of ipads to John Lewis stores?

Out of stock at john lewis online and local stores for 2 weeks now. Even john lewis say they have no idea when apple are sending them any more! Really want it from them for extra year warranty. Anyone else having this problem?

Was looking at John Lewis but could not wait, so ordered one from apple. Had it within a week. Great service
Now have two, the first one again from apple , well the family look it over. No real problems with them at all. Wi-fi ok, heat ok, charges in 6 hours, just had a small problem when finishing a spreadsheet. Did not wait for it to save and upadate so it froze. How I wait for the sheet to update and save before closing the app and I have no problems.
so HAPPY with the IPad, downloaded pages and numbers and I can do all I want. Such a joy to use. Yesterday I packed my windows desktop away, and my other windows machine a laptop is not used now either.
Should have brought one months ago. We all learn .

When will the ACROBAT PDF function work again for Office 2011 for MAC and PC?

Adobe Tech support suggested I submit my comment to this post in hopes that this will help resolve the issues. I feel for them having to field these calls.
I can no longer convert Excel, Word and Powerpoints to PDF. If our company converts one Office doc to PDF a day, we do at least 50 conversions to PDF. Since the 9.4.2 update, the PDF feature does not work on MAC...and since the 9.4.4 update it no longer works on a WIN system.
We have Acrobat 9 on all the MACs and PCs in the office. We downloaded Acrobat X to test it out when it first launched. Other than some nice bells and whistles with the convenient interface and new enhancements to the Portfolio feature, Acrobat X still does not do the basic function Acrobat was designed to do....convert to a PDF.
We began converting PDF's on the WIN systems because the file size and object data handling on MAC had become difficulty over the past year (lost fonts, file size bloated, etc). Now, nothing works on either system.
Last year Adobe and Microsoft Office suggested we upgrade to CS5 and the new OFFICE to fix the problems. MAC remains closed box which is why the system is so clean, but poses a real challenge when running non MAC software. Now Adobe advises that Acrobat only works on the previous version of Office (?), but not 2007 and that they are not compatible with the new office even thought it worked just a few weeks or so ago. Unfortunately, we have used some of the new features in the new Office and now are being asked to go back a step.
OFFICE automatically turns on your 90 day free tech support now when you call in to tell them PDF doesn't work. They feel they are giving YOU tech support. Last year, the Microsoft Office group advised that once they hand off to the PDF processor, that function is all Adobe. And it seems that Apple has their own Quark processor running scripts in between the two functions which is why the PDF file sizes are bloating on MACs.
The Adobe Acrobat engineers at AdobeMAX suggested to run Paralells or VMware on MAC in order to convert files to PDF properly/small size (which is what they say they do to get around the object data and bloating issues internally on their own MACs).
I know so many colleagues now who just run dual systems (WIN/MAC) so they can realize the full function of the Adobe software. It is not convenient when traveling or cost efficient for small businesses, but that is what we had to do to get our jobs done. I "HAD" a couple of the most incredible PDFing maching in my office until about a week ago...a $4k mega WIN System raided, 2 SDDs, 2 1TB HDDs, major video card, etc....and they are sitting lonely because PDF doesn't work anymore. But goodness, how fast it converted things to PDF.
Is there another patch coming imminenty to fix this issue?
I don't really care if there is a 32 bit or 64 bit issue. Customers pay premium price for the software which boasted 64 bit, etc and it should work as advertised. I ponder, are all my macs 64bit now??? They still don't work either. Customers depend on the software to do even the most basic functions in daily business and should not have to spend hours on the phone trying to figure out a problem that has nothing to do with them or a workaround because their investment did not work as advertised (and has genereally worked for years)....
One click of the button should be all that is necessary to make a PDF and make people everywhere happy when they need to send a secure output of their huge powerpoint to a customer to get business or their child's project for school that morning.
Is there a software war going on between the companies?
Are they rushing to market too quickly?
Do the companies thoroughly test the patches before running the updates?
Are there not enough API's or "hooks" allowing companies to make their products work with the different hardware, firmware, etc?
I don't really care what the internal issues are. Just fix it! The software should work as it is marketed (including the platform) and these companies need to get together and make it work (if that is the case) so their loyal customers can get their jobs done enabling them to purchase the next version of software that is suppose to be better than the last for their work.

Do you happen to know why Adobe is saying they are not compatible with Office 2011 now? I found a link on the Adobe webite along those lines yesterday, but was not able to find it this morning to insert into this post.
Our CEO had a real meltdown at about 2am the other morning when trying to pdf something for a meeting the next day. Was not very pretty.

When will Forecasterfox add-on be available again?

I installed upgrade version 29 and now the add-on Forecasterfox is not compatible. I think it is VERY unfair not to warn of add-ons that will no longer be compatible 'before' an upgrade is applied! Do you know when/if the Forecasterfox add-on 'will' be compatible??

That's a really good idea, but I (nor this community) is not the one to make that decision. I think that would be a good idea for a bug.... Worst thing that happens is that it gets marked as WONTFIX.

I did not realize that downloading Firefox 4.0 to test it would mean that I would lose the ability to use Zotero. This has greatly impeded me in writing papers for graduate school, most specifically my master's thesis. Is there any way to get re-set to the Firefox version prior to 4.0 and regain the use of Zotero?
