When will Fios Internet come to my area?

I have notice that in the summer of "2014" they were installing Fios in my area on the main street. The projects a couple of blocks away from me has had Fios for a couple of years. The whole Project? So what is the problem that Fios can't come on the side blocks? As of yet Fios has not come on my block I live in the area of 10026. Why is it taking so long for Fios to come into the side blocks.

FIOS has been expanding throughout the whole city for about 7 years now. Specifically in my area for the past 5. Within my one mile radius, for the past 4 years, they have been expanding. They have been expanding north south east and west of my address, and nothing still available. I can get FIOS literally, accross the street or up the street, not at my house. I have asked about 15 technicians. They say its coming. They have said that for 5 years. I have called the 1-800 number, they have submitted fast past tickets. I have spoken with the people who are laying the fiber for FIOS and they say they don't know when its coming to me. They just say its coming. I have even gotten one of those tags on my door that says the wait is over, FIOS will be here in a few weeks, still no FIOS. Where is FIOS?

This forum is strictly for Verizon Wireless, you need to go to Verizon Residential for Fios questions.
Regardless, you will not get a projected date until you are within a month, maybe 2, from it actually becoming a reality.
This is not necessarily the fault of Verizon, though, as they need approval from all of the local governments which they impact and THOSE entities can work at a snail's pace.

As has been said many times already in these forums, all Apple has announced is "Fall". Beyond that no one outside of Apple knows a specific release date. We'll all have to wait and see.

Can I purchase FiOS Internet alone, and what are the costs associated with it?

There is no FiOS available in my area currently, but is expected to become available soon. This is my question, when my brother signs up for the bundle, (television, telephone, and internet), is it possible to add another FiOS internet line (we prefer to have separate internet connections), and ONLY internet, without telephone and television? If so, what are all the costs, such as if I need to get another telephone line to facilitate FiOS internet?

FIOS is fiber to the premise, you do not have to have a phone circuit. Tekephone and Data, and Video if available in your area, are available bundled or as seperate packages. Call your local sales office or go to www.verizon.com/fios for prices
You can not have two data circuits on one account, so you will need a seperate ONT unless you live in an apartment building and they hav a Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU) Optical Terminal installed.
If you want two seperate routers on one circuit you can do that, but Verizon does not support it, you would have to set it up yourself.

I have been waiting for a couple years now, and have still not hears anything about FIOS internet coming to Illinois or even a rough estimate, the only internet we can get here right now is very slow and unreliable and I'm eagerly awaiting when it will be available in Illinois, and doesn anyone have any idea on when it will?

As Anti-Phish stated, Illinois is now Frontier's service area. Frontier won't be running FiOS out your way any time soon, unfortunately. Frontier's main goal right now is to try and get people who are without DSL and without clear telephone service up and running the way they should be. Since their core business (Telephone Service) is on a demise and considering they have taken on a new, huge service area, they have a lot of things on their plate and I also imagine money has been stretched. From what I know Frontier is still building out FiOS in existing service areas, but away from that and newer neighborhoods, the most you can hope for right now is a Cable company to show up or for Frontier to bring DSL out to you if they haven't already.
If you have DSL with Frontier, you could visit DSLReports and post up in their Frontier Communications forum. I am a DSLReports member and am also a Frontier customer besides a Verizon customer, so if you do this, the next time I stop by the Frontier forum I'll take a look at what is going on with your connection.

When will FiOS be available in my neighborhood?

I live in NJ and have not been able to get an answer to my request as to when FiOS is going to be installed in my neighborhood. You would think that Verizon would have some schedule for installing their system especially since they advertise FiOS so aggresively. It's not like I live in the middle of nowhere. Is ther someone out there that has access to a FiOS installation timeline for areas in New Jersey?

Verizon is protecting their rights. If the competition knew they were getting ready to promote FIOS in a given area, the competition would flood that market area with flyers and specials that promote their service and require a commitment. Look at it this way. Even if the competition knew FIOS was building out in a given area, they are going to hold out the best deals until the very last minute. This has been discussed may times. All a user can do is continually go to theVerizon site and ask for availablity and to be notified. There have been some limited releases of schedules in certain areas, but Verizon will promote availability when convenient for them. Usually the areas that are released to the public, are areas that Verizon needed to get a franchise agreement with the local government and that is public knowledge anyway. If Verizon had no comeptition then I am sure they would post schedules on bill boards. In my book there is no competition, unless cable companies were the do FTTH.

When Will FIOS Be available in Howell NJ?

Good afternoon! My section of Howell, NJ (Ramtown) has yet to see anything about FIOS and when it will be available to our area. My friends a mile away from me and further north in the same town have it, yet I can't get it. I heard a year ago we were going to have it, but since then I've heard nothing. I am on the fringe area of the Brick NJ exchange or whatever it's called. When will it be available in my section of Howell? I want to get rid of DirecTV if at all possible and switch all of my other services over to FIOS. Thanks!

They are still expanding in NJ. Not sure if Howell is one of the areas planned for by 2014.

There is no way to tell if an item is coming back in stock. Your best bet is to bookmark the item and check everyday for a week to see if more get in stock. If it does not come back in stock there is a chance that model is not manufactured anymore.
