When will I be able to print from my ipad?

Everyone asked for printing, Apple rushed an iOs update but we still cannot print through iTunes.  Sort it Apple please.

I have just tried all the advice above, and reiterate that there is not a proper solution for windows users to print via their PC.  I have not looked re Mac options, but if the only option is with a similarly dodgy airprint activator this is not a proper officially supported solution.
The Airprint activator I found on all the sites re windows is a small unsigned app downloaded from a filesharing website with no support or copyright information, and no information who wrote it.  As the app is not officially signed by any company I am not very keen on using this or recommending anyone else to use it.
Not withstanding I have experimented with it and been unable to make it work.
Re buying an app to print from - it is not possible for a developer of an app to add a second print option to all iOS apps that support printing.  Therefore the only way an app from the iTunes app store can enable printing is to force a user to run the specific app, to locate the content on the internet or email account using a bespoke interface in the third-party app, and then to write all their own code to print.
I can't believe when Apple do such a half-assed job of implementing a feature I am getting put down for asking them to sort the problem.

  • I have bought an airport express after being assured that I will be able to print from my IPad. I have installed airport utility on my Hp laptop and it is configured correctly but the printer I have is showing neither on laptop nor on IPad. Can u tell how

I bought an airport express after being assured that I will be able to AirPrint from my IPad. I have set up airport utility on my Hp laptop and configured it properly with the express. But still I'm not able to detect the printer attached to the USB port of airport express, neither on my laptop nor on my IPad. Can someone tell me if and how it can be done?

Who assured you that an AirPort Express would allow you to use AirPrint from an iPad. They were incorrect.
AirPrint from iPads and other iOS devices is only supported on a select few wireless network printers that expressly advertise that feature. An AirPort Express will not add that feature to a printer that does not support AirPrint. Also, for printers that do support AirPrint a wireless access point is not required since the printer needs to support wireless networks connections internally.
The HP laptop should however be able to print to the printer connected to the AirPort Express. Try also installing the Bonjour Print Services for Windows. It will make printer discovery a lot easier when using Bonjour enable devices like an AirPort Express.

  • Used to be able to print from my iPad but now when I print the paper comes out but there is nothing on it

Go into iMessage and Facetime and sign out.
Go to Settings > iTunes and App Store, log out the person who sold it to you and enter your information.
Or go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings and then start from scratch.

I'm not able to print from my iPad. Any suggestions?

    1. Buy a AirPrint enabled printer; see list below
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
    2. Run the CD provided and setup as network printer; this will setup your printer to the same network as your iPad

    3. Start printing from your iPad without wire

  • I used to be able to print from ipad and iPhone and now it doesn't why?, I used to be able to print from ipad and iPhone and now it doesn't why?

I used to be able to print from my ipad and iphone5 but can't now. Why?

does it not show a printer when you use airprint? were you using airprint or a thirdparty app to print? Some basic steps would to be power cycle your iPad and iPhone and also the printer, and make sure they are all on the same wireless network if you are using air print.

    Hello Jfadair9,
Thanks for the post.  I'm not sure which model printer that you have but you should be able to print from your iPad 2 with the HP Home and Biz application.  This is for wireless printers that are NOT web enabled.  I've included a link below with some great information on how to get this resolved.  Good Luck!

  • Why can i no longer print from my ipad 2 to my hp 4500?

I used to be able to print from my iPad 2 to my HP 4500 G510n-z but now all of a sudden I can't. It still shows in the eprint app as ready with a great dot beside it, but when I try to print it says it is unable to print?  All of the searches I find say that it doesn't have eprint capability, but I was able to do previously with no problem, HELP?

    Is this thing on??

  • I want to print from my ipad wth the least amount of issues. I have downloaded some apps that let me print but only out of e mail. What printers do you recommend that print from most apps?

I would like to be able to print from my Ipad 2 with the least amount of effort. I have downloaded a few apps that I thought would be good but they
just let you print from the app and you have to e mail it to yourself to print. I need someone to recommend a printer that I can print seemlessly from most applications and the Ipad will find it.

You need an AirPrint compatible printer, then you don't need any app to print/

Canon and Epson have also announced AirPrint compatible printers:

  • How do i print from my ipad to the officejet 6500a plus?

I read there may be something else required. I want to print directly to the Officejet 6500A Plus. Apple says ths is an Air Print printer capable of doing that. I'm not taking this monster out of the box until I know it will do what I want without a lot of trouble. Thanks.

Ok, so you were talking about needing the update.  It's hard to say as it all depends upon if it came with the new firmware or not.  It is not really relevent, however, since it will update itself upon enabling Web Services.  This process takes only a few minutes.  There is no computer necessary for the firmware update as long as the printer has internet access (i.e. connected directly to a router via either ethernet or wireless).  Yes, with an ad hoc connection, you will be able to print from the iPad, but you would have to use its 3G connection as opposed to going through your router.  It can only support a single wifi connection also.  Go ahead and set up the printer and keep me posted as to what happens.
BTW - What is the issue with your PC that it cannot access the internet?
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided.
Although I work for HP, my posts and replies are my own opinion and not those of HP.

  • I can't print from my ipad. i had the app hp service and it just shuts off whenever i click on it.

I have been able to print from my ipad before, but now I can't.  I get an error message saying no printer can be found.

I would unplug router and printer for about 30 seconds. I would also power down iPad. I would confirm that printer was on your network. I would attempt to print again. I would also make sure I was using the correct app Hp ePrint app.
Let me know if this helps

  • How do I print from my iPad 2?

I have a wireless printer but haven't been able to print from my iPad. Is it even possible to do this??

Your printer must support AirPrint. Not all Wi-Fi printers support AirPrint. See this Apple support document for a list of AirPrint enabled printers.
