I have a ipod 4g and i try to download apps like ibooks i cant because i dont have ios.7 and it really bugs me and i was wondering if itunes could and when update iphone 3 and ipods to ios.7 please do it ASAP

Sad to say your out of luck and iOS 7 won't come to iPod 4 ever because iOS 7 require at least 512mb of RAM where the iPod 4 only has 256mb of RAM. Think about upgrading to a iPod 5 as it will also support iOS 8 and it about 2x+ faster than the iPod 4 so games will run better. It also has features like a better camera, etc.

Sorry to say that you may be at a dead-end as far your your device goes. You can't update to any iOS version above 5.1.1 due to hardware limitations of the iPad 1st gen...thus, you cannot use newer apps that are released. Use the link that Niel provided. You are still able to use the apps that are currently on the device but as far as newer apps that require iOS greater than 5.1.1, you're stuck.

A second generation iPod touch can't be updated past iOS 4.2.1 or run applications which require iOS 4.3 or newer. Unless you have older versions of them on a computer or in a backup, you can't use them on it.

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

I agree with Tgara. For me my first gen iPad does what I need it to do - I don't need the cameras (and therefore FaceTime or PhotoBooth), and though the 2nd gen has got a faster processor I'm happy with the performance of mine so it's not worth me selling it and buying a 2nd gen.
