It is not a problem. it is the way it should work.
ALL U.S. iphones are carrier locked and CANNOT be legally/legitimately unlocked at all.

I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version. I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again. I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again. My blue tooth doesn't work either. I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this. When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue. My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!! I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue. Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it. Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.

Contract free does NOT mean unlocked. It will still be locked to a carrier, whichever one you choose when purchasing.
I'm guessing your intent was to ask when the unlocked iPhone will be available.

No contract iPhones will likely be available on the 21st when the iPhone 5 becomes available for retail sales. Note though that you can buy an unsubsidized, contract free iPhone which will still be locked to a specific carrier.
If you want an unlocked iPhone, that is also sold at the full retail, unsubsidized price, but Apple has not announced yet when unlocked phones will be available.
Just beware that contract-free does NOT necessarily mean unlocked, so make sure you are buying what you actually want.
Also note that the new iPhone 5 GSM only phone comes in two versions - one for NA LTE channels, and one for European/Asian LTE channels, so be sure you get one that will work with the data networks available where you plan to use it (the non-NA LTE channel version will not be sold in the USA).

I live in Brazil and would like to have an iPhone 5. But (what I thought unthinkable) I got to know it's not compatible with Brazilian internet 4G. When will iPhone 5 be compatible with our 4G? Let me try and give a couple of examples:

You may think it's not wise to open PDFs (or anything else) on an untrusted website anyway. Well, you don't have to. PDFs can be embedded in websites so that they are loaded automatically and trusted websites can be attacked.
A fake app attack described here: http://www.computerworld.com/article/2845146/security-bug-leaves-iphones-open-to -fake-app-attack.html. A fake app replaces an official one. I admit this requires carelessness but it exists nevertheless.
Also, National Cyber Safety Center of Finland has instructed people to stop using Safari on devices with iOS 7 because of a vulnerability that, used together with another exploit, can be used to run arbitrary code on the device. I assume this is the PDF vulnerability but I don't know about the other exploit(s).
Or am I not up to date with these issues? Have I missed something?

None of the Apple Stores nor authorized resellers in any other country would ship to you. You would have to either travel to a country where Apple is selling unlocked iPhone 5s or know someone in such a country who could buy the iPhone 5 for you and send it to you. If you consider this option, know that the warranty on any iPhone is valid only in the country in which it is sold; you could not get service from Apple service providers in Paraguay for an iPhone sold in another country.

Until Apple makes an official announcement, anything you read is purely rumor and speculation. The last word from Apple was later this year but that was some time ago.

You've never used Excel? You can delete multiple rows or columns with ease.
Yahoo mail gives you an option, by checking a box preceeding the messages, to move or cancel selected (range) messages in mass. I use it daily.
Outlook and Outlook Express both give you the option to cancel a range of messages, highlight the first message, shift key held, highlight the last message, delete.

Actually I ordered my 16GB Gold phone on line @ 12:10 AM Friday morning and received it the following Monday.
I should note that I ordered it from the ATT.com website. I had 2 computer up, one on Apple and the other on ATT. At midnight, boths changed to "waiting". At 12:10AM, ATT's site popped up and I ordered the phone. Shortly thereafter I received a message stating my phone would arrive between Oct 21st to Oct 30th. The next day (Saturday) I received a message that my phone had shipped from Ft Worth.
Apple's website never did popup (at least by the time I finished my business on the ATT website).
Go figure...
Was the midnight start the same across the country? I'm on the west coast. If it was the same time, that would mean the east coast had to wait until 3AM. Is that right?
