When will Itunes/App Store be back up???

Still recieve the "cannot connect to iTunes" error message. I've tried signing out, resetting phone, and changed password.. is there a projected fix time? I'm in the US, it's 3 pm here.

No, the app store will be out when the iPhone Firmware 2.0 is released. The 2nd gen phone is to be released "some time in 2008" not necessarily when the 2.0 update is released. However, Apple has been letting stock of the 1st gen iPhone draw down so you can make your own conclusions.

When will the App store be expanded to more countries?

I have a pre2 and love the gizmo, but the **bleep** issue is that I'm in a country that does not allow to buy via the app store. It seems Belgium is a 3rd world country.
This is extremely annoying, as in most of the lite versions of the programs you can not exceed a number of storags capacities.
And i want to upgrade them but it is simply not possible.
Are there any plans to expand the number of countries and so yes when will this be and what list of countries would that be?

Purchased my Pre in october 2009 and little did I know that I still would be without paid apps in 2011.
Sure I feel neglected but webOS is still amazing and its not like there is a good alternative out there. Can't wait for the new devices to launch as that will hopefully be done on a wider scale and give support to more countries. Now, bring us some Pre3's and Touchpads to Scandinavia, please.

I wish the App Store had a wish list to mark apps for a later download. Many apps get better with later versions and it would be helpful to keep track of interesting ones. Anyone agree?

App will not download to iPad when purchased from App Store - stuck with Cloud icon

Device : iPad Air 32gb wi-fi model (not cellular data)
OS version : 7.1.1 (up to date)
Location : UK
Problem : App will not download to iPad when purchased from App Store - stuck with Cloud icon
Last night I tried to download an app over wi-fi onto my iPad Air, but the app did not install.
I have plenty of space (the app is 24.1mb, I have 3.4gb free space) and there are no restrictions whatsoever on my iPad - no blocks on App store purchases, no age-related restrictions, no country restrictions etc.
Normally from the App Store page you would tap the price (in this case the app was free), enter your iTunes password, and the app would download.
Also a new icon appears on the home screen and a circle shows the progress of the download.
However this did not happen.
Instead I have the Cloud icon (the one that shows when you have bought an app but it is not currently installed on your device) and a message that says "You've already purchased this, so it will be downloaded now at no additional cost".
If I press OK I am then prompted to enter my iTunes password, the Cloud symbol briefly changes to a circle (and I mean for a split-second, like the blink of an eye) and then the Cloud symbol appears again.
The app does not download - in fact it does not even *attempt* to download.
I have tried this >20 times now and it always occurs excatly like this.
After Googling this problem (which seems common) and reading over a dozen threads on this forum plus Apple's own official support pages, this is what I've tried:
I can re-download other apps that I have previously purchased on this iPad, with no problems.
I purchased another app on my iPhone 5 and was then able to download onto my iPad with no problems.
I have reset my iPad >5 times - both by pressing/holding the home/power buttons, and also a full switch off and restart.
I have logged out of my iTunes account on the iPad, and logged back in.
The wi-fi is Virgin Media fibre optic broadband with a verified speed of 20 meg (confirmed by Speedtest) plus an 802.11-n Belkin router and my iPad will happily load web pages, stream videos on YouTube, download other apps etc.
I have reset/rebooted my internet connection
In an attempt to eliminate by broadband connection from the possible causes, I have switched off my router, linked my iPad to the hotspot feature on my iPhone and tried to download the app over cellular data, but still cannot download the app.
I have tried on 2 other wi-fi networks but still cannot download this one app.
My iTunes account has a cerdit balance from an iTunes card, but the app was free anyway
Nothing I try will download the app in question.
The app is iPad only, so I cannot install on my iPhone to try and kick-start the process.
I guess I could install the app on my computer and then sync the iPad, but that's *working around* the problem - it's not *fixing* the problem.
(Since getting the iPad I use almost never use my computer. And anyway what if I did not have a computer? Didn't iOS go "PC-free" with version 5?)
I would like to call Apple but my 90-day telephone support has expired (the iPad is around 6 months old) and I don't want to buy Apple Care for this one problem.
I can't make it to an Apple Store to speak to a Genius.
Bearing in mind the list of things I've already tried, what do I do next?

No need to apologize, I actually found the phrase "If your iPad ever craps the bed" amusing under the circumstances
I checked the list of installed apps like you suggested (Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps) but this problem app is not in the list. I have also swiped down on the home screen to search for it, but again it does not show.
While it has not let me download the app (and I just tried it again) it has helped me to eliminate a few things from the list of what to try, and I can definitely conclude that it has not downloaded.
I guess I need to fire up my PC and download it / sync my iPad.

Why does my iTunes / App store go to the German version when I travel in Austria?

Since I updated to iOS 6 my iTunes Store and App Store are both going directly to the Austrian stores. I am in Austria at the moment travelling. But how come I can't change back the Canadian stores? I think someone dropped the ball on this one.

No, go to "settings", "iTunes & App Stores" click on your "Apple ID:" should be some type of email address. Then hit "View Apple ID". Once you sign in w/ your password, hit "country or region" (even if it already shows the correct country) your basically reverifying. I'm guessing since you updated while on vacation your locations services were on thats why it changed countries. Anyway follow the steps update your payment info (you will only need the security code for your debit/credit card if it stayed the same). And you should be good!

then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item (free or paid-for) from the store.

If not then you will need to enter credit card details - you should be able to remove the card after entering it

4. Enter your user name and password;
5. Tap Country/Region;
6. Tap Change Country/Region;
7. Select the region where you will be located;

It seems to be closed right now due to some announcement of the Iphone 5 and all and redesign. Is it going to open back up for purchasing tomorrow or anytime soon?

If that does't help, try resetting Winsock. This has solved the problem for some people, at least.
1) Click on your start menu.
2) Go to accessories
3) Run the Command Prompt application. For those with Vista or Windows 7, right click on Comman Prompt and choose "run as administrator".
4) Once it opens, type in the following command...
netsh winsock reset
5) hit Enter and it should say something like Winsock reset successful.
6) Reboot your computer and try the iTunes Store again.

When using the app store i get kicked back to the home screen?

I will be browsing through the app store on my iPad and all of a sudden the screen goes black for second and then I'm back at the iPad home screen? It happens pretty frequently and only seems to happen when using the app store. I don't understand why I keep gettig kicked back to home screen and any solution would be appreciated.

Im sorry I will try to be more clear.. and I appreciate all of ur input. Wi-fi works fine.. everything opens and functions fine on the I pad. The problem is I will click on app store or the I tunes store...it opens fine and I am able to look at and download apps etc... but after being in the appstore or I tunes store for a couple of minutes I get kicked out to the I pads home screen. Its like pushing the home button but I didn't. It only seems to do this when im in the app store or I tunes store. I have been using the chrome browser and other downloaded apps such as ebay just fine with out this problem occurring. Not sure about safari as I dont use it and use chrome instead. Um I don't think the home button its self is faulty because it works fine and as stated before this only happens when I am in the appstore or I tunes . I've only had this I pad 1 64gb wi-fi for a few days .. I got it off of ebay it was stuck in restore mode getting error code 1611. I was able to successfully Restore it with I tunes and it running ios 5.1. Seams to work great besides the problem being mentioned.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't remove the App store app, you must hav moved it to a folder somewhere. Swipe the screen to the right until you get to the search screen then do a search for the app.
