When will iTunes UK enable movie purchases on Apple TV?

As title states, I'm frustrated that he UK always lags behind. The key ability of not being able to either directly purchase movies off the apple tv or view existing purchases is a required feature. Why should it make a difference which device I purchase it from if I am doing the buying.

It's not just the UK, but with AppleTV the US has always got the goodies firts let's just hope we get them too at some point.  Maybe at present this is to ensure that if you buy something you have a copy in iTunes/iOS device as you cannot redownload, and AppleTV does not have permanent memory - no reason a puchase there couldn't kickstart an automatic download to itunes next time you ran it though.
Personally I think the studios are quite stupid here, as there are things I would buy in HD if available instead of my older DVD copy, but I won't be buying the BluRays of those titles.
Another thing that puts me off buying at the moment is that even when there are a few titles in HD, they are mostly 720p - in the US I guess you would get the option of redownloading either 720p or 1080p, but without a rdownload option in UK you'd worry that as soon as you bought a load in 720p, they'd up the feature to 1080p availability and expect you to pay again.
