When will Lightroom be updated to accommodate Canon 6d RAW files?

When will Lightroom be updated to accommodate Canon 6d RAW files?

Its not supported in the Latest version of Lightroom 4.3 Release Candidate or ACR 7.3 RC which expires at the end of Jan 2013 I believe.
Since the 6D is a high end and likely a popular camera model it is my expectiation that it will be supported when the final release of LR 4.3 / ACR7.3 is issued.
I do not know just my opinion.

  • When will Lightroom 4 support tethering for Canon EOS 6D?

    Hi, all...
The Canon 6D is not in the current list of supported cameras for tethering in Lightroom. When will Lightroom 4 support tethering for Canon EOS 6D?
    Thanks
    Steve

To be clear: Lightroom 4.3 now supports Canon 6D Raw files

Lightroom still does not yet support tethering for Canon 6D

  • Will Lightroom 5.0 or 5.3 open raw files from my Canon 70d and will I subsequently be able to work on them in Photoshop CS 5?

I don't want to convert to DNG files. I have have Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS 5, neither of which will open my raw files from my new Canon 70d. Trying to decide between buying the education version of Lightroom 5 with update to 5.3 if that will do the trick or joining the creative cloud for $9.99/month. Would appreciate accurate advice. Thanks.

You need Lightroom 5.2 or later. The educational version should work fine.

  • When will Lightroom be updated with camera raw 8.7?

    Hi Folks,
Can anyone tell me when LR will be updated with camera raw 8.7, containing support for the new Nikon D750 camera?
    Many thanks for any feedback

Until you convert to DNG you wont be able to import the 750 NEFs into Lightroom.
As I am a Windows user I'm not sure what you mean about Command R but to use the DNG convertor you need to download from the link and install it.
Then you start up the convertor as a separate application and you will see the following panel:
Then choose the Images to Convert
Select a location to save the converted images (defaults to the same location as the input images)
Rename the images if you so wish (Default is just to creat a file of the same name with DNG extension)
Then Convert and after the conversion you will be able to import the DNG files into Lightroom 5.6
Then it doesn't matter if you have Camera RAW 8.7 in CS6 as they will open directly from LR to CS6 as you would normally do.
I guess it is a little inconvenient because you have an additional step to convert the NEF to DNG but it at least get you there in the meantime while you are waiting for the final LR product.
    Enjoy!

  • When will Lightroom recognize Nikon D750?

When will Lightroom be updated to recognize the new Nikon D750 camera?

    Hi Rob,
Yes this is just a hack. Not a recommended long term solution.
I'm sure Adobe will come out with an update soon.
I am currently shooting raw and jpg.
Best to backup your original files just in case something goes wrong.
I have not had anything strange happen yet. But who knows.
Because its a raw image.. you are adjusting white balance, sharpness, contrast, etc. anyways.
The Nikon d810 was released July 17, 2014
Adobe released Camera Raw 8.6 with support for D810 on July 28th.
Lets hope the turn around for the d750 is the same.

  • Adobe Lightroom 5.7 does not recognize Canon 60D raw files. I have Camera Raw plugin 8.7 installed. Is there solution?

Neither Bridge CS6 or Lightroom 5.7 can recognize Canon's raw file (Canon Camera 60D).
This only started a few months ago without any change that I made to the system
    Any clues?

Is this only when reading CR2 files on the camera memory card or also for CR2 files that were previously imported to your hard drive (i.e. ALL of your 60D CR2 files)?
LR 5.7.1 is only at Camera Raw 8.7. so OK. What Bridge, PS, and OS versions are installed? In Bridge go to Help> About Bridge
From inside Bridge launch any raw file and check the ACR version:
From inside PS go to Help> System Info and check PS and OS version:

  • When will iphoto accept Canon 40D raw files?

When will iphoto accept Canon 40D raw files? I have a new camera and would love to use the raw files in iphoto. No luck so far. Aperature seems to lack the abilty to open them also. Anyone here as to when iphoto will be updated?

    Hi again.
No, I don't use aperture, I tried the demo and liked it, but I'd previously bought the commercial version of Pixmantec RawShooter converter for my 10D - Pixmantec were 'bought out' by Adobe, and Adobe generously offered all RawShooter purchasers a free licence for Lightroom, which I also like a lot (though haven't fully got to grips with), so can't currently justify Aperture too.
The one thing I'd say about Aperture is that the colour management for some reason just nailed the colours when printing using canned profiles, in a way other apps hadn't on Windows (including QImage). I was particularly impressed by this using an old Epson 1290S A3+ printer which always tended to produce prints with a colour cast.
iPhoto seems to handle RAW conversions very well and simply, although it's not as refined as the high end apps. This together with organising features are probably what make you find it so easy. Remember though that when you display/tweak RAW files, iPhoto will be creating a file to store these changes as the RAWs do not get directly manipulated. As all this is done behind the scenes again this probably makes it seem easy.
If you don't have Aperture or Lightroom, both were available for 30 day demo last time I checked.

  • When will LR read Canon 40D RAW files?

Any ideas when Adobe will post an update for the new Canon 40D RAW files?
Neither LR 1.1 or ACR 4.1 can read them.
Thats the major problem when new camera models are introduced and one have got used to the LR workflow.

I know that when the 30D came out, it was not similar to the 20D. One main difference as these new models come out is that they are higher resolution than their predecessors. There was a hack that came out shortly after the 30D came out that managed to make ACR work by using the 1D Mark II specification (I think), but it did not work reliably.
At the time, the history was that ACR was being updated about every 4 months if for nothing more than to accommodate new cameras. If you assume that that pace would continue, then ACR would be "due" late September, and LR maybe a month after that.
That is pure speculation on my part based on history, no guarantees, of course.

  • How do I update Lightroom 4.4 to download canon g16 raw images?

How do I update Lightroom 4.4 to download canon g16 raw images from my camera?

You cannot read your G16 native raw files with any version of LR 4 so there’s no information, here, about paying to update from LR4 to LR 4.4.  You need LR 5.2 to read G16 raw files natively.  LR 4.x to LR 5.x is a pay-for upgrade.
Alternatively you can use the DNG Converter 8.2 or newer to convert the G16 raw files to DNG raw files and those will work in your older LR 4 version.
Adobe updates whatever the current version is with new cameras, so once LR 5 came out LR 4.x ceased to be updated for new cameras.

  • When will lightroom support d750 raw files?

when will lightroom support d750 raw files?

No one who knows can say and no one who says knows.  I’d GUESS it’ll be before the end of November, around the time Canon releases the 7D Mark II which has already been announced by has a ship date sometime in November according to B&H.
While you’re waiting, you can download the DNG Converter 8.7 RC from Adobe Labs, and convert your NEFs to DNGs and import those DNGs into LR.  The DNGC is in the CS6 branch of the ACR 8.7 download, here:

  • When will Lightroom and Elements support the Nikon D600?

When will Lightroom and Elements support the Nikon D600?  In the meantime is there a workaround so the D600 raw files can be exported to Lightroom or am I simply out of business until Adobe develops the needed patch?
As best as I have been able to figure out I may as well rebox the 600 and go back to my older, supported camera, until whenever.

A: What were you using before your precious D600 showed up today.
    A D90 with good glass.
    Nikon 70-200 f2.8, Nikon 24-70 f2.8, Voigtlander 58 f1.4, Tokina 11-16 f2.8.
Now I need to get a good FF wide solution for the D600.
Trigger on the D600 is much more stiff than my D90 so I'm having to press down a bit harder to get the AF confirmation. Just need to get used to that I guess.
FYI, JPG files right out of the camera are looking good.
B: Don’t you think Adobe wants to sell you the next generation product/upgrade to accommodate all of our insatiable photographic pursuits???
I had been using Apple's Aperture and switched to Lightroom a couple of months ago. I thought the price was actually quite fair for the power of the LR software. I did have to updgrade my computer's RAM....
C: Have a nice glass of wine tonight and enjoy your $2K investment. I’m personally looking forward to savoring a next generation photographic paradigm.
We did enjoy some vino last night! I was thinking I would possibly jump ship to Sony A99 and just switch to all Zeiss glass with autofocus, but I'm not convinced that the EVF is for me, and I'm really not a video shooter, mostly just landscape and real estate. Also, I the Sony turned out to be priced a bit too high for me personally in comparision to the D600.
    Buenos Dias!

We'll know when it happens, Lucht - software companies don't make support promises in advance.

  • Photoshop Elements Organizer 9 will not read in Canon 70D raw files. All updates have been made.

Photoshop Elements Organizer 9 will not read in Canon 70D raw files. All updates have been made.

The Canon EOS 70D was first supported in Camera Raw 8.2 (the plugin used by Photoshop Elements to read Raw files)
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Camera Raw 8.2 is only compatible with Elements 12 and later. It is not compatible with Elements 11 or earlier.

    Your choices:
Upgrade to Elements 12 to open 70D Raw files in Elements
Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all 70D Raw files to DNGs then open and edit the DNG files in Elements 9
