When will Photoshop Touch be updated to support the new iPad (3)?

Since the screen is now greater than HD and the camera has just been enhanced to 5 MP, PS Touch should be updated to support pictures larger than 1600 x 1600 as quickly as possible as well as adding direct support for the Retina screen. Otherwise it will look fuzzy and seem underpowered for the device going forward. Any estimate on what date this much-needed update will be released?

Hi Plossi,
I don't have an iPad3 myself but I have heard from others that PS Touch looks and runs great on it. Adobe will continue to release updates to PS Touch to make the app better and take advantage of the latest hardware (including iPad3). It's not possible to provide dates around any future releases though. Larger image support is a very common request. Please add your vote here is you haven't already.

  • Will an app that was developed for the new iPad resolution run on prior iPads?

Will an app that was developed for the new iPad resolution run on prior iPads?
What happens if we develop an app at 2048 x 1536 and try running it on iPad 2?

    Yes.
It will run, but won't have the same resolution as New iPad.

  • How/when will AIR support the new iPad?

I believe that the following will be needed:
    - new placeholders in app xml for the new iPad retina icons
    - a mode that will allow the content done in 'non-retina' iPad to be viewed on new IPad (like the tag that makes iPhone 4 to fill 4 pixels and be used as the iPhone 3)
    - a simulator for all AIR environments, which allows the visualization of the iPad retina display (I guess it will have to have scrollbars for the first time in a mobile phone simulator, since the height is going to be 2048 pixels :-O )
    - anything left on the list?

ok so i guess its 50/50 so far. stretching to big screen works fine but native resolution does not seam to be supported. Meaning i see pixilization on side of the image. if vector is used it should not be a problem (i guess)
for testing i used high res images from here: http://www.zastavki.com/eng/Motocycles/Harley_Davidson/wallpaper-12206-18.htm just to give proper credit to who ever did the image
So for 1st test i used regualr ipad resolution 1024*768 i used HIGH res setings and placed 1280x800 photo obviously it got cut off, some side of the modules pixelazied but oveall model is ok no big digtortion
Next i inputed resolution to be 2048*1536, image now fully fits in, so i would expect it to be rendered nicely on large canvas yet i have same ordrder pixilization (ani alising needed i guess) I may be a bit picky but i consider interface by Apple to be perfect and our image that seams to be well rendering (externally) gets dissorted
    Anyway here is snapshot
Now, lets play with bigger resolution  image... i used 1920x1200 resolution source image and HD canvas. Got image to be displayed almost full screen but sides of the images are not that perfect again.
Now i figure that print screens may not shto artifacts of renderings so i took some photos
As you can see around (5) has sitortion even though there is no on original image. This is photo of last test in HD mode full screen large image.
    Here is another one
So my conclusion so far, is that 1024*768 and 2048*1536 have sa,e result in both case there is some sort of stratching and smoothing applied by player. Logically higher resolution images should look better on "new ipad" but i did not see that in my test.
Maybe i did something wrong but taht what I have so far! Any comments ideas? Lets get this thing to have perefect output... maybe you have other test assets?

  • When will Photoshop CC be updated in Swedish

I am waiting for the Photoshop CC version with Edge Reflow support to be available in my Creative Cloud membership, Swedish version.
It is released in US ...
    When will it be available?

This is a user to user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.
But this is not the Camera Raw Forum.
Furthermore: Have you contacted Sony as to what their reasons are for not using DNG or working with Adobe to make their new RAW Formats usable in ACR in time?
(Camera makers’ preferring their proprietary software for RAW conversions may be perfectly legitimate if the results are superior to Adobe’s, but is that always the case?)

  • Will iPod touch 4 cases work on the new iPod touch in white?

I bought a white iPod touch and a case for the 4th gen iPod touch at the Apple Store thinking it would fit because it is really a 4th gen right? I never had a 4th gen (had 3rd gen) so I'm not sure if it's new but is the power button moved down or something along the back for 4th gen? The case I bought doesn't seem to manage to get this button and it's annoying. :/

Are you sure there are actual differences between this year's and last year's 4g iPod?  Maybe the case you go is not really right.  The following lists the dimension of the iDevices so that manufacturers can design cases.  It only has one drawing for the 4G iPod. It does include a drawing for the iPhone 4s.

  • I just bought the latest ipod shuffle to use with another older one. But when I tried to download updates and charge the new shuffle it is nowhere to be found. The new download is not recognized

I just bought the latest ipod shuffle and want to put my library songs on it. Why when I tried to install the latest version of i-tunes nothing happened. My new pod is connected to my laptop USB 2.0 port but it is nowhere to be found. Why is this new shuffle pod not recognized?

You downloaded iTunes AND installed it, right?  What you downloaded is the installer, which installs the iTunes app (and other things like drivers) on your computer.  You then have to run the iTunes app.
If you did that already, make sure the USB docking cable's plug is completely inserted into the shuffle's headphones jack, as shown in this document
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3572
When connected, the shuffle's light should come ON.  That indicates it is getting power.  If it blinks orange (at least initially), that indicates it is connecting for data.
If you are good so far, in iTunes, the sidebar (along left side of window) may be hidden.  If it is, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  When the shuffle is connected, it should be listed in the sidebar, below DEVICES. Does it appear there?

  • When will Acrobat Professional XI save files to the new Adobe Workspaces?

Here is the dilemma and I can't believe Adobe has not addressed this...
The product Adobe Acrobat Professional XI saves to the cloud.  But the location that it saves to is files.acrobat.com (Which you have to comb the Internet or forums to find this out by the way).  When a user goes to Acrobat.com, Adobe tells them that we are now Adobe Workspaces with all the features, etc. and tells us to go there instead, but the FLAGSHIP PRODUCT -- ADOBE ACROBAT PRO XI saves to the old supposedly obsolete Acrobat.com - What am I missing here?
Is there a plan to start saving from Acrobat Professional XI to Adobe Workspaces??  What do we do when Adobe shuts down Acrobat.com???? Why is this not addressed anywhere???  What's the plan???

    Hi WarithNiallah,
    This behaviour is as designed.
Acrobat.com - Personal File Storage is a free service that is integrated with Adobe Acrobat XI software, which was first released in October of 2012. This service lets you store documents online and access them from computers and mobile devices.
Acrobat.com - Workspaces is the original (legacy) Acrobat.com service, offering a team workspace with up to 2GB of storage, an online word processor, and an online table tool. It can also be used to host shared PDF document reviews invoked through menu choices in Adobe Acrobat software. These services are available for free.

  • Will app sizes increase across the board because of the new iPad?

After the release of the new iPad on Wednesday, most apps figure to update their capabilities accommodate the new iPad's boosted resolution. And it appears that this process will result in an appreciable — if not significant — increase in app size. For example, Apple's Find My Friends app has gone from 14MB to 18MB in an update optimized for the new iPad Retina display. GarageBand went from 768MB to 801MB. Obviously, for users who download lots of apps (like me), these app size increases represent a strong argument against purchasing a new iPad with the minimum capacity of 16GB. What do you think?

People seem to be focusing on the size creep in apps, however, this is likely to be functionality driven more than due to the display for most apps. The real driver that I have found wrt storage space is videos. Now with the new display it is likely that people will move more to HD videos from iTunes, etc.. and this will be what drives the increase in storage required.
If your photos are compressed JPEGs then what you'll have to think about is how many videos you want to carry. There is also the possibility that with the new screen resolution that people start to store pictures at higher resolutions also which might drive storage.
Either way HD is a canny move by Apple as it will ultimately drive revenue growth through iTunes ;-)

  • Ipad will not turn on or do anything. I have the new Ipad.Whats wrong?

Ipad will not turn on. I have the new Ipad. Whats wrong? Its only about 2 months old.

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Will Adobe ever update the graphics for Photoshop touch for devices like The new iPad?

Will they ever update it, because the app looks fuzzy on The new iPad.

The 1.3 update added support to the retina display. Have you installed this version?

  • When will there be an update for RAW files from the new Olympus OM-D E-M10 for Lightroom 4?

    Hello there,
when will there be an update for Lightroom 4 which provides the option to import RAW-files from the Olympus OM-D E-M10 directly into LR4?

Lightroom 5.0 came out in June 2013 with a public beta for LR5 available at Adobe Labs back in April 2013.  It seems you may have been unlucky purchasing the old version just before the new version came out, or perhaps LR5 required a minimum OS level your computer didn’t have.
Purchasing a new version every year isn’t necessary, but you do have to buy a new version whenever you buy an unsupported camera.
Adobe employees need to get paid just like the rest of us, and their releasing a new payfor version every so often is how they get paid.
Never mind that the new version has improvements beyond new camera support, so there was a full development-release-training-marketing effort behind it.
The upgrade price is cheaper than the full purchase price and if you want Photoshop capabilities, there is a LR+PS Photographer’s Bundle that is half the price of purchasing Photoshop, itself:
