When will portrait format rotate problem get fixed?

A Slide Show generated in Organizer and output to Premiere Elements for video editing can still have problems with Protrait Format photos.
These photos have proper orrientation in both Organizer and the Slide Show when viewed in Orgaizer.  However, when the Slide Show is transfered to Premiere Elements for video editing and production, some Portrait Orrientation photos lose their proper orrientation and end up laying on their sides.
This problem appears to be camera specific.  My Canon SX230HS is an offender.  This problem can be avoided by using an edited version of the photo.  However, that is a pain if the photo does not otherwise require an edit.  I believe that in PSE/PrE Version 8, the problem could be corrected by a simple rotate left and rotate right sequence in Orgainzer.  However, that "work around" appears to have gone away with the PSE/PrE Version 9.
This problem is a real pain when producing a slide show containing photos from multiple cameras.  I would think that if PhotoShop Elements, Editor and Orgainzer are aware of Photo orrientation, then Premiere Elements could also have the same intelligence.

To permanently alter the Rotation of portrait Images, yes, that would be a good workflow.
I normally shoot in RAW (Nikon or Canon), and then process the Images in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) through Photoshop. There, I will do the Rotation, and when I Save_As PSD, the Rotation is permanent. For users of Adobe Lightroom, the operation is the same. I assume that it will be the same with PSE, but have to admit that I have never used that program. Still, in most respects, it works just like its "big-brother," Photoshop. Now, I also use Adobe Bridge (big-brother to Organizer), and with that Save_As, it will handle the task of Rotation too.
One thing that I have never experimented with is the differences between doing the Rotation in an Image editing software, like PS, vs doing it with the Fixed Effect>Rotation in PrE, or PrPro. Based on the Scaling algorithms in PS vs PrE, or PrPro (up to CS 5), I would think that the Image editing software would be a bit better, but that is ONLY a guess on my part, and especially as the Rotation algorithms will be different than the Scaling algorithms. Maybe I need to do some control testing, though my workflow is set up to do the Rotation in ACR.
Good luck,
Hunt

When will the problem of non-admin accounts not able to see all flash content on
    web pages be addressed???

in addition to poor open GL performance, i've also had problems with any program utilizing antialiasing support. i recently sat down and called apple and had a discussion with their support line. while i didn't mention the poor open GL performance, i did mention the graphical errors i was experiencing with my MBP. i was told these issues are not normal, and have a replacment on the way. while these issues are some what numerous, i've not been able to find much more than a few articles or discussions on the topic. i'm hoping this means it is contained to a few MBPs and not all. we'll see when the replacment comes. if not, however, i'd consider a class action suit. the machine i bought was sold as a portable gaming machine, (apple.com/games/hardware) and thats not what i've gotten. i am very disappointed that apple has not even acknowledged the issue to let us know some fix is in the works. if enough of us make a big enough noise about it, perhaps we can get some sort of reply. i'd recommend you sending a note to apple as mentioned, then take some time to sit and give apple a call. they are very interested in listening to you, don't feel silly about calling about game perfromance, they are advertising these machines as such.

  • When  will this cr*p IDe get fixed?? !!

    Hi Creator Team,
Even after all this time the IDE still performs absymally.
(I am writiing this after trying to run project and getting gery screen!!)
Still having to shut down via task manager about 10 times a day !!
Its such a pity the IDE takes away from a functionality rich app.
    Regards,
    LOTI

I haven't heard of the Visual Web Pack yet. Is it basically Creator embedded in NetBeans?
Yesterday I had to shutdown the task processes as the IDe has just hung. And that was only trying to run the porject. I have a top of the range dev pc with 2gb. I have adjusted all the xms settings in domain.xml,etc.
I have been going on about the IDE for over a year now. Whilst the latest releases are a massive improvement, there is still that sluggishness and unpredictablity of whether it will last one hour without giving me problems.
Still for all its faults, it is still a great tool.

  • When will the ipod touch 4g get an update

when will the ipod touch 4g get an update

    Probably never again.
6.1.3: latest version of iOS 6 for all devices (except iPhone 5)
6.1.4  latest version of iOS 6 for the iPhone 5
After that Apple released the beta of iOS 7 and then the final (7.0)
    I wouldn't expect anything.

    And what will it have?

No one here will know that, as we are just fellow users.

  • When will the atrocious  OpenGL performance be fixed?

I have a 15" MBP w/ the 8600m GT and have been suffering with absolutely terrible OpenGL performance ever since I bought it. I am aware this is not a new issue and I am not alone, but I was reminded of just how bad the situation is when I was reading a review of a new Santa Rosa-based MacBook, and it included OpenGL performance tests. Of course the MBP beat the regular MB in OpenGL performance, but the iMac with a Radeon 2600 beat the MBP by about 30%, even though the MBP has vastly superior graphics hardware. This is unacceptable. This has been unacceptable for many many many months. Does anyone from Apple ever read these forums? You've had months and months to fix this issue. If an MBP user just installs Boot Camp he instantly gets double the OpenGL performance in Windows. Have I mentioned this is unacceptable? When will this be fixed?

in addition to poor open GL performance, i've also had problems with any program utilizing antialiasing support. i recently sat down and called apple and had a discussion with their support line. while i didn't mention the poor open GL performance, i did mention the graphical errors i was experiencing with my MBP. i was told these issues are not normal, and have a replacment on the way. while these issues are some what numerous, i've not been able to find much more than a few articles or discussions on the topic. i'm hoping this means it is contained to a few MBPs and not all. we'll see when the replacment comes. if not, however, i'd consider a class action suit. the machine i bought was sold as a portable gaming machine, (apple.com/games/hardware) and thats not what i've gotten. i am very disappointed that apple has not even acknowledged the issue to let us know some fix is in the works. if enough of us make a big enough noise about it, perhaps we can get some sort of reply. i'd recommend you sending a note to apple as mentioned, then take some time to sit and give apple a call. they are very interested in listening to you, don't feel silly about calling about game perfromance, they are advertising these machines as such.

  • When is this phone going to get fixed?

What is going to be done for us customers who have bought this phone?  When is it going to get fixed?
This phone has had issues since day one for a lot of us.  Many of us are outside the 14-day return period so many of us are up a creek when it comes to returning the phone for another phone.  Including myself.
I don't want to sound like I'm complaining.  The phone is a great phone, I love the featureset and I love the LTE network.  Many of us wouldn't want to go back to a non-LTE phone including myself.
We know that Gingerbread is coming soon and that with it comes a promised fix for all these issues, including a fix for the dropping signal issue which has to be the biggest issue that all of us Droid Charge users are having.  All we ask is when we can expect this to be released to us.  A lot of the older phones are getting Gingerbread before this phone.  Why?  This phone is new, shouldn't we expect it to be the first phone on the block to get Gingerbread?  It only makes sense to have this phone get Gingerbread before every other phone.
It is after all, Verizon's "flagship" phone.  The one that Verizon is marketing the heck out of on television and the Internet with their "Rule the Air" commercials.
Some say that Gingerbread is being held up by Samsung because of issues with the new TouchWiz.  Personally, I don't care about the new TouchWiz.  Release the update without the new TouchWiz and get these immediate issues fixed then release a point-1 upgrade with the new TouchWiz when it's ready for release.

    Dear trparky,
I can understand your frustration, although I am one of the seeming lucky minority of Charge owners that have relatively few problems with the phone.  I live in a 3G only area, but occasionally travel into 4G-NYC for meetings and have not experienced the switching/dropping problems that many others complain of.  Based on your location, I am guessing you have 4G in your area, but can't take full advantage because of the switching/dropping problem.
I would not count too heavily on the next iteration of the OS to solve the problem.  As far as I know, no one has definitively identified the source of the issue; it could be software, but it could also be the hardware in the phone, most possibly the radios or the antenna (remember the iPhone "death grip" problem?).
I hope Android 2.3.x is released soon and that it solves the problem.  But I would not count on either of those things too much.

  • When will people in the UK get siri business

I got my new iphone 4s in decemeber 2011, its my fault for not checking that siri is in beta and that it dont have as many features as i saw in the ads but im still happy with my purchase.
My question is tho when will i get the other features im in the uk and i would like to get the business searching for siri, does anyone know when they are doing an update for it?

  • If I buy an I Pad mini will there be a problem getting it hooked up in China

I am buying an I pad mini with cellular and wi fi to give as gift to a CHinese national living in China.  Will they be able to get service fro a local Chinese carrier on this?

So, it's kind of a toss up. If you're buying it off of Apple.com, whilst located in the Philippines, possibly.
If you buy it whilst in the US, then no.
    Unless it's unlocked.
If you buy unlocked, you can use it anywhere.
So, I would suggest puchasing either unlocked, or through a carrier in the Philippines.

  • I have a 4-way scroll button on my Acer that no longer works with the current firefox. Is there a way to make it work? It is frustrating enough that I will probably go to another brouser until this problem gets fixed.

The button used to work until I upgraded, now it doesn't. The button still works for other documents and if I use Internet Explorer Browser. I have windows vista. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Lawrence. I figured that was what I was going to have to do in the end. I have a few games with quite a few hours invested, and I worry that I'll lose the progress I have as they do not save to the cloud. I may have to bite the bullet, and just take the plunge to resolve this. I just want a way to easily transfer my "Home Computer" for my iPhone. My laptop is years old and in need of being replaced, and it's about time to upgrade my phone. These life events piling up are making me consider switching to a friendlier OS. I'm not using this as a threat. I just hope some apple high up will read this, and realize that we need alternatives. Life happens.
Thank you both Paul and Lawrence. I clicked "This helped me" not knowing it would remove the option to choose "This fixed my problem" too. For anyone else reading this thread. Using the guide provided has done both. It has helped me and given me a fix to my current problem. Lawrence has also provided me with the last bit of information I feel is missing from wjosten's guide. That syncing will completely erase all of your data and reinstall it in one fell swoop. It's a great fix. Even if it isn't the exact one I wanted. Thank you again!

Most of WHAT problems? I've had it for 2 days and so far I've had ZERO problems. The smoothest update ever. I'm a pretty heavy user, with over 200 apps, 6 email accounts, 5 BlueTooth devices paired.

  • When will the youtube subscription limitation be fixed?

I have submited about this before, called support, taken my apple tv into an apple store.
I have heard the same story for months and months now...   "It's currently being looked at and will be fixed on the next software update"
That was quite a few software updates ago.
My Apple TV is still limited to only 25 youtube subscriptions as I know I'm not the only one with this issue, it clearly is something that needs to be addressed.
I know apple has little financial interest in fixing youtube on the apple tv, but based on the fact this was a major reason I bought the apple tv, I'm quite disappointed that something as simple as this has not be addressed.
It really is making me rethink bring any more apple products in my home, as this was my first apple experience, and to be frank, so far I'm not impressed in the least.
This is a documented issue so I've been told, and only requires a simple software update.

in addition to poor open GL performance, i've also had problems with any program utilizing antialiasing support. i recently sat down and called apple and had a discussion with their support line. while i didn't mention the poor open GL performance, i did mention the graphical errors i was experiencing with my MBP. i was told these issues are not normal, and have a replacment on the way. while these issues are some what numerous, i've not been able to find much more than a few articles or discussions on the topic. i'm hoping this means it is contained to a few MBPs and not all. we'll see when the replacment comes. if not, however, i'd consider a class action suit. the machine i bought was sold as a portable gaming machine, (apple.com/games/hardware) and thats not what i've gotten. i am very disappointed that apple has not even acknowledged the issue to let us know some fix is in the works. if enough of us make a big enough noise about it, perhaps we can get some sort of reply. i'd recommend you sending a note to apple as mentioned, then take some time to sit and give apple a call. they are very interested in listening to you, don't feel silly about calling about game perfromance, they are advertising these machines as such.

  • When will Adobe solve its problems with CS6?

I am teaching a  class in RAW this quarter and I cannot ask students to purchase CS6 with its current problems unless Adobe can assure me a solution is imminent. As I have no way of contacting Adobe directly, I have to use this forum.
My present CS6 problem, for over a month, is the Adobe Application Manager requiring me to send my registration number once every day. This only affects Photoshop; I can open Bridge and RAW without any problem. If there is a fix, I haven't heard of it. I have the latest updates, use a Mac, and don't use over 16 bit processing.

Historically, Adobe has released their full versions about 18 mos. apart. Now, there have been some dot upgrades, that fell within that time frame.
Usually, there are updates, made available, when complete and tested. Usually, the auto-updater gets the updates first (now, I would assume the Creative Cloud), and then, when an installer package has been released, the separate download/update is posted here.
    Good luck,
