When will PP finally stop duplicating master clip references on imported XML?

When will PP finally stop duplicating master clip references on imported XML? PP+PluralEyes is currently useless for long form projects!
Using the Plural Eyes 3 plug in in Premiere Pro duplicates the referenced master clips in the project. Why isn't Premiere smart enough to see that there are already master clips for those files?
On large project this bloats the project file to point that it slows to crawl. I was hoping to use Premiere Pro for my latest feature doc, but looks like I've got to go back to Avid.... Sigh.

Somehow updating to CC solved the problem for us. Let me clarify, we still
have a bunch of duplicated clips, but before, that was making our file size
enormous. Nearly 1 GB. Now it seems the program has gotten smarter and is
back down to a manageable size.
Let me know if you find a solution for the duped clips? Thanks!

Every single Mac user in the world has issues with Adobe Flash Player. Whether it be crashing, slowness or temperature bursts of the computer, everyone has some issue. Flash for Windows is a well-developed plugin and works well, unlike Mac’s version. It has been years now and Adobe has done nothing. My question is, when will something be done. When will the Nikon D810 raw files be able to import into lightroom please?

When will there be an update for Lightroom so I can use raw files from a Nikon D810?

The camera was just released for sale a week or so, ago, and the current LR 5.5 is older than that, so how would Adobe be able to support a camera that wasn't available, yet, unless they had a pre-release copy, several months in advance, in time for including in LR 5.5
Adobe Labs - http://labs.adobe.com has recently published a release candidate of the PS Plug-in ACR 8.6 RC that lists support for the D810. There is a download for PS-CS6 and another for PS-CC/2014.
For Lightroom users, you can use the DNG Converter 8.6 RC available in the CS6 download set for ACR 8.6 RC.
Because this is pre-release software, keep in mind that something in the support for the D810 could change before final release, and thus your images might look slightly different.
There is one known issue with the D810 support in the ACR 8.5 RC release, and that is it doesn't know how to process the new 9 megapixel Small Raw format, but Adobe has said the final release, will.
I'd expect a final release within 4-6 weeks if it is the same as those in the past.

When will the smart stop/reload button be available for version 24.0?

I want to have a button to stop loading/reloading.

The button is there but what you have to do is select "Customize" from the right-click menu on the toolbar area and then put the reload button and stop button right next to each other where you want them to show up.
Also - If you put them just to the right of the location bar the button will display inside of the location bar.

When will apple finally fix all the email issues for everyone? Mine is dead

I have read all of the answers to problems and have tried every solution posted and my account email is still acting like is uploading and updating but nothing comes up on the screen. I noticed that a lot of people here has some type of issue with emails which it happens to be at least for me one of the main reasons to buy the iphone (besides how cool it is)
Would apple realize all this issues and help us all to get functionality in the emails? Or there is somebody in this discussion that still have some tricks up their sleeve? I'll take every help i can get, right now I'm the joke of the office as everybody else have Treos and get their email working fine. Its frustrating and frankly the iphone beats the other phones hands down but it wont work!!!!!!!

Much of what we have to work with is the email servers and settings that your email provider requires.
What type of email account are you accessing?
Do you notice the same behavior on Wi-Fi and EDGE both?
Is this your own account, a work account with an Exchange server, or a domain that you have hosted somewhere?

The note at the top mentions IMAP must be enabled on the Exchange server. In addition many workplaces put their Exchange server behind a firewall, and need to allow access past the firewall either by opening ports up, or via VPN for the Exchange server to work for users outside of the company network.

When will Apple finally resolve audio bug muting ipad 2 ?

There is a clear software problem with this device and nobody is admitting to it.
Other members of my family have exactly the same intermittent problem with audio vanishing and then emerging on the iPad 2.
It has nothing at all to do with "mute" or "volume turned down" or any other 1-brain cell answers, it would seem that certain apps are conflicting something and the audio slider simply vanishes all together.
Shutting all the apps down, doing soft resets often bring it back on - but not all the time. Only a few mainstream apps are on this machine such as facebook, twitter, rightmove and autotrader and still the problem persists.
It persists with mine, it persists with my mum's and it persists with a work collegue - and we all own an iPad 2.
Under contract law if a latent fault is not remedied by the manufacturer, regardless of the warranty expiring or not - then it shall be replaced with the very latest model or it shall be completely refunded.
Do apple want to go through that?

CC and Lightroom integration: when will LR finally get a 100% integration into the installer?

It still gets installed to a different folder (ignoring the base folder I set for CC) and the installer still says it's not installed after installing.
I had CS6 and standalone LR before CC, that might be the cause, but I am NOT going to reinstall everything to get back to where I am now.
I bet there's some registry entries that override the settings you set in the CC installer, but apparently no one ever cared about cleaning this up.
Because CC doesn't recognize the LR installation properly (even if I installed it using the CC installer) LR never gets updated, I always get a popup on starting LR.
PLEAAASE fix the installer and/or the LR package so everything is fully integrated. Thank you!

addendum: Installation always goes to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Lightroom ... instead of C:\Adobe\ where all the other CC apps go.

Master clip duplication problem

If I copy a master clip in the browser, then paste it, isn't the new clip supposed to independent? The Master Clip colunm is still showing a check beside the new clip.

Actually, in the book Final Cut Pro 5 by Diana Weynand from the Apple Pro Training Series it specifically states that copying and pasting a master clip in the browser will not create a new master clip (p. 270). I tried it in 5.0.x and that is the case, the pasted clip is not a master clip. However, trying it in 5.1.2 the pasted clip does become a master clip.
There were changes made to master clip behavior going from 5.0 to 5.1.2, but this change isn't mentioned in any of the documentation I've seen.
If anyone else is working with the Final Cut Pro 5 book, there's another master clip discrepancy between the book and 5.1.x. On page 273 it says that you will get a warning when deleting a master clip from a project that has been used in a sequence. According to the late breaking news document at http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/FinalCut_Pro_5.0_lbnz.pdf the warning dialog will no longer appear:
Managing and Revealing Master Clips
In previous versions of Final Cut Pro, affiliate clips shared data with a master clip stored in the Browser. If you deleted the master clip, a dialog would appear requesting confirmation that you wanted to break the master-affiliate clip relationship. If you clicked OK, all of the affiliated clips would become independent.
In Final Cut Pro 5.1.2, deleting a master clip no longer breaks the relationship between affiliated clips. Instead, the master-affiliate clip relationship still exists even when the master clip in the Browser is deleted. No dialog appears when you delete a master clip.

When will Adobe get a proper search function in its forums?

The new forums design is running for quite a while already, but I still don't understand how the search function could pass quality testing and has not been updated, yet. Did that department sleep? I'm in the Photoshop forum for example and I want to search this forum. To do this I first have to to do an overall search, then go to more options, and then scroll painfully to a list of 100+ entries that I have to view through a small tiny window. I'm sorry to say that, but this is absolute crap. What's the problem? Why can't Adobe implement a "search this forum" option or at least make the listbox for the forum selection larger? I do not expect something like this from Adobe! When will this finally change? This is really frustrating.

You can. But it needs to be easier to find.
Just go to the search adobe.com window. Don't type anything in it. Just click on search button.
This will bring up another search area. You will see all products with a down arrow. Click on view all products and take your pick.
I am sure someone will point out a faster route to go.

Lord & Taylor Card - When will I see my CLI on my report?

L&T recently switched over to Capital One instead of Sycrohony Bank...so I've had the card for over a year and I wanted to request a CLI. I requested from CapOne and they approved me for an increase of $300 (should of asked for $500, but anywho). it's been about a month and I haven't seen this reflected on my report, in fact it's showing up as OVERLIMIT! which my card hasn't been overlimit in months. Anyone else have this experience? When will it finally show up?

How do I stop duplicating contacts when I sync my IPod Touch with Gmail?

I don't know if this helps much, but Address Book was basically the same application in a previous version of the Mac OS. Folks still seem to use the terms interchangably though. Similarly, Calendar used to be "iCal."
I believe syncing contacts with Google or iCloud is an either/or proposition - you can't do both. When you sync with either, a copy is saved to your Mac for faster access (like a web browser's cache). I believe there's still an option to save contacts exclusively to your Mac (HD), but I don't think it's either preferred or occurs by default if you have an account such as Gmail/google or iCloud already set up.
I've never played with preferences in Contacts (Address Book), but I do have both google and iCloud accounts associated with my Mac. Under System Preferences:Mail, Contacts & Calendars, you can specify what accounts do on your Mac. If you have multiple accounts set up, a list will appear on the left side. As you select each one, a list of check boxes appear to the right for each service you want to associate with that account. For example, I have an iCloud account for mail, calendars, contacts, and Safari (among others). I have a Gmail account for mail, although it gives me the option of using this account for calendars, etc. For Gmail, the only item I have checked is mail. It's never asked me if I wanted to sync my addresses with Google.
I hope this helps... at least a little. If nothing else, I hope I've solved the "Address Book" mystery ;-)

Final Cut Pro Input Clip/master question

I'm using fcp 4.5 on a PowerMac 1.8gh.
So I've just lost a hard drive, and I've tried to recapture the media for my project into another drive.
However, the tape is damaged at the beginning, and I am not able to recapture the old clip in its entirety.
Luckily, in the project, my 'sequence' clips are all contained in the material I could recapture.
How do I make the timeline/ sequence clips refer to the recaptured material rather than the original, lost master clip? How do I link them up to the new material and thus bring them back online?

You can try this:
1. Close your project AND Final Cut Pro.
2. Move the actual captured clip OUT of the Capture scratch folder on your media drive
3. Open the project.
4. You'll see the media in the browser with the offline thingie over it.
5. Highlight it and Edit>duplicate
6. Give it a new name- append a number to it
7. In the browser, ON THE COPY OF THE ORIGINAL CLIP, click the media start number, and CHANGE it to what you know has good timecode.
8. Open the log and capture window.
9. Highlight the copied clip and hit batch capture, it should default to the highlighted clip.
You should already have the tape in the deck, having found an appropriate place to start your capture. DON'T FORGET TO ALLOW AT LEAST 5 SECONDS FOR PRE-ROLL.
10. Once you have captured the media, it should either repopulate, or if not, select all in the timeline and File>reconnect media. The reconnection window is pretty intuitive. It's a two step process-- first it finds the media, then you hit a reconnect button. Make sure you check the box that says something like reconnect all media in relative path.
If this DOESN'T work, you'll have to eyeball all the clips and do it that way.
Capture now is really not the best way to work for this and other reasons. It should ONLY be used when you've got something horrible like vhs with no timecode. In those cases I ALWAYS dub to something that has code, and always log and capture. Then in two years if a client has changes, all you have to do is recapture the media and you're good to go.
The Bright side: you'll never have this problem again.

Length of clip expands when sending from Final Cut to Motion

Hi everybody. I'm a motion beginner, so pardon me if this is a boneheaded question. I have a clip whose speed has been slowed in an FC timeline. I sent it to motion in order to switch the method of speed alteration to 'optical flow'. The clip in the FC timeline is three seconds long, 62 frames. It's an excerpt from a clip in the browser that is 10 minutes long, 14,000 frames.
The clip opens in motion at the correct length -- three seconds -- and it looks the same as in the FC canvas. However, when I select 'optical flow', the task list says Motion is analyzing 14,000 frames and it finish in 27 hours.
Why is Motion applying the change to the entire master clip and not just the piece that I sent from FC? And is there a way to force it to deal with just the piece?

Because that's what Motion 3 does - analyzes the entire underlying media file. Your options: 1) In FCP, export the clip with handles, import, and replace, then send that shorter clip to Motion or 2) Upgrade to the new FCS, in which Motion 4 only analyzes the section of the clip you are interested in.

Adobe Camera Raw for Nilon D800 / when will there be a final version?

I downloaded the beta version of ACR 6.7 to have a driver for the new Nikon D800. I installed it and got the message that this version espires some time soon.
When will there be the final version out? Is there already a date for it?

There is no publically announced release date....Adobe doesn't do that. But rest assured the beta will run and the GM release will happen before the end of the beta date.

When will updates for iphone 4s stop being sent, any ideas?

Hi, I'd like to know if anyone has an idea of when support/updates will cease for the iphone 4s? I'm thinking about upgrading to the iphone 6plus but given the problems people are having on here, I'm having second thoughts and may just well stick with the 4s for the time being.

Thanks, thought I'd see if there were any rumours of when it would be stopped. Think I'll have the battery changed as it's doesn't last very long at all, as they say 'better the devil you know' and all that.
