Does anybody know when Apple will get its very own built-in browser to work properly?
Since 'upgrading' to Yosemite when it was released, Safari has been horrendous, locking up multiple times a day.
Here's the latest...
I have of course allowed my Mac to report each and every lock-up, so Apple knows about them.
If anybody is able to understand the text below, does it give any hint of what I can do to make Safari work as it should?
All my software is from the App Store and all software is fully up to date.

Thanks for the reply, I've now had time to run EtreCheck, which I've copied below.
Just a couple of notes - I've recently turned back on my two Safari extensions after leaving them off for a while to see if they made any difference. They don't appear to.
I've just had Mail Web Content hang as well as Safari (see below) - when I forced Safari to quit, Mail started working fine, so maybe a conflict there?
Anyhow, here is the EtreCheck result - even I can see some processes running which don't need to (Matrox and others) so I'll endeavour to clean those up...

If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6, the system sound control is in the task bar at the bottom. Double tap the home button and swipe all the way to the right in the task bar to get to the speaker icon on the left side. Tap on that and the sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

Can't Install Mountain Lion - Disc doesn't use GUID. How will i make it work?

I just bought and downloaded Mountain Lion,
but when i try to install it on my Macintosh HD, it says that the Disc doesn't use GUID.
How will i make it work?

I'll explain a bit what is going on so you will understand.
Storage and boot drives have instructions at the begining that tell firmware and hardware what partitions are on the drive and their format, among other things.
This is called a Partition Table or Map, and there are different types. One is GUID (GPT) that Mac's and OS X uses now to boot from and Master Boot Record (MBR) that is used with older Windows XP PC's and files drives today come with.
Somehow your Partition Table got changed from GUID to MBR, how this occured is unknown but you have been able to use the computer and OS X until today.
To change the Partition Table requires all data on the drive to be removed as basically the map is going to be changed so the parittions (even if one) on the drive is going to lost it's "map".
Despite what Disk Utility tells you, you have two partitions on the 10.6 boot drive, a hidden EFI partition also exists. (and in 10.7/10.8 there is yet another called Recovery)
So EFI is going bye bye along with the OS X partition, however you can clone the OS X partition to another drive either using Kappy's method, or Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper.
So you first need to format a powered, blank extenral drive using Disk Uility (select the drive makers name and disk size on teh far left) with a Partition > Options GUID and Format OS X Extended Journaled, quit, then use CCC to clone the OS X Macintosh partition to the extenral drive.
Once this is completed you can hold the option key down to boot from this external drive and check it out. You also should make a drag and drop copy of your files to yet another drive as a extra safety net. Disconnect this last drive.
Now what you want to do is while booted from the clone is use Disk Uility to format the INTERNAL drive the same way you did the clone drive, with a GUID and OS X Extended Journaled.
Now use CCC to clone the external drive to the internal drive, while option key booted from the external drive. When that's finished you need to change the name of the external drive to something else preferablly.
When your done, disconnect the drives and reboot, set the Startup Disk in System Preferences to the internal drive.
If you get a flashing question mark upon boot, hold the option key down and select the drive to boot from then repeat the above step.
Now you should have a GUID partition table and ready to upgrade to 10.8.

I sympathise with you on this subject. I have been with Skype for 5 years or more.. I have the unlimited calls to Canada & Usa for $3/month. The service is getting better . I've paid for an american online number for over three years and now dropped it... Always hoping Skype would finally give us a Canadian list of area codes from which to chose... I recently bought a telephone adaptor that connects directly to my router so I don't need anymore to have my computer turned on so I can use the phone...
You know what ? I think Skype does not care a bit about us Canadians.... I have stopped believing they will ever put in the cash and effort in to get us Canadian telephone codes...
The solution : I'll soon get either a MagicJack+ or a NetTalk system... They both offer Canadian telephone codes and they both cost less than Skype for unlimited calls to Canada and USA.... They also both connect directly to your router so you don't need to have a computer running to originate or receive calls with any normal house phone....
I have friends that use both MagicJack+ and NetTalk and I can assure you the service is at least as good if not better than Skype. A Canadian Online number is important to me and getting a different service seems to me the only way to get it.

creative.adobe.com appears to be an alias for something in Amazon’s Web Services cloud. Ping is a useful tool to see what actual Amazon server the creative.adobe.com is using.
Here is what I do on my Windows computer:
Start / All Programs / Accessories / Command Prompt OR you can just type cmd in the Run area in the Start menu.
A black window with white text should open, and at the C:\> prompt type:
C:\> ping creative.adobe.com (enter-key)
On my computer I see the following:
C:\>ping creative.adobe.com

The important thing is the name and the IP-address on the very first Pinging-whatever line. The timed-out and 100% loss are expected because the servers are behind a firewall that doesn’t allow pinging, but keep track of what different IP-addresses are shown. I have done this several times in a row and one time I got 54.255.242.223 for the IP address while the other 5 times I got what you see, above: 23.23.208.194.
What you want to do is whenever it does actually work in IE or FF, quickly go to a command-prompt and do a ping creative.adobe.com and write down the ip-address—the four numbers with periods between.
Then you can use notepad to edit your hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and add a line at the bottom that looks like:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx creative.adobe.com
where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the set of four numbers you saw when it worked.
Save the hosts file and see if it still continues to work. If not then edit the hosts file, again, and put a # (pound) sign in front of the line—which disabled that mapping, but you’ll know you’ve tried it and it didn’t work, like so:
#xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx creative.adobe.com
What the line in the hosts file without # will do is tell your computer to always use the particular IP address when it goes to creative.adobe.com
If at some point after you've done thing creative.adobe.com stops working, again, then edit your hosts file and add a # in front of the one line with creative.adobe.com that doesn't have it to disable the ip address mapping and see if things work ok without it. The issue seems like an internet problem or internet-security-on-your-computer problem not specifically an Adobe problem.
