    Be sure all your programms will work on Lion. Power PC programms do not work anymore (eg Nikon Scan 4 will not work from now on on Mac OS X).     Well I think that is well known.
    The point is that loyal customers (with legacy products) don't expect to have their device compromised by an unsuitable update. There are not many possible scenarios. Either the update is simply unsuitable, or, the iOS has not been exhaustively tested/debugged/patched for older devices. If it is the former, then Customers have been mislead, and the update should have been blocked. If it is the latter, maybe the iOS will be patched at some date to allow at least the original level bug free performance for the device. When that would actually happen is unknown, and nothing official has been published to indicate recognition of the problem that many ipad2 users are consistently reporting here and across the Internet space.

    You can upgrade to iPhoto '11 with OS X 10.8.5 by purchasing an iPhoto '11 DVD from Amazon, eBay or other source - or you can upgrade your OS to Mavericks for free if your system meets the requirements and then purchase the upgrade to iPhoto '11 version 9.5.x from the App store - in either case backup first in case of problems

    You can purchase, download and archive the Lion installer now and save it for future use if it is not available later...
