    Yeah seems so! Folks always looking for the next version! There isn't really much more than can do with the iPod other than maybe add a camera and a built in speaker. It would be a ***** if they added a better camera than you can get on the new iPhone G3. LOL No such luck!
    I would like to see a 60/64gb version though.. but I don't them flash memory is available yet in that size and if it was or is would it be priced so that Apple could actually create an iPod at the right pricing point that it would sell.

    The new iPod has just begun shipping to people that ordered them online directly from Apple. Expect another 2-3 weeks at least before stores have them.

    Noone really knows, Apple keeps it's secrets very close, although it's rumoured that iPT5 will have a white edition.

    Ordered mine in late September.  Just received notice that it will ship in 5 to 7 days with a delivery estimate of October 24th - 27th..  Hope this helps.

    No. Apple has not yet mad an announcement as to when.
    Maybe some since this post discusses that his 5G iPod is preparing for shipment.

    I know the pain of waiting. I waited 2 months for a liquid-cooled PowerMac G5 after they were introduced. They had issues with leaks.
    I read there are quality control issues with the new iPhone 5. Some new units out of the box have nick and scratches in them. They are probably trying to rectify that for iPods too, and that may be slowing production.

    Apple has not announced any new iPod models, and until they do none of us here, who are all fellow users, will have any idea. In the past, any new models of the iPod touch were announced in the fall, but whether Apple will continue this pattern or indeed if they have plans for any future new iPod touch models at all is unknown. We'll just have to wait and see.

    Back up manually, transfer your purchases, let iTunes set up the new device and restore from the the manual backup.
