When will the next update to Lightroom be that will include the acceptence of RAW files from the new Canon 7D Mark II?

The title pretty much describes the query.  I do not want to use any other sort of file converter to pull the RAW files into Lightroom or the like.  I am hoping that Adobe will answer.  Cheers, Keith.

Native Lightroom support for the D750 was added in the Lightroom 5.7 update released this evening.

  • When Will Photoshop Elements 12 support Raw files from Nikon D3300

i have just got my Nikon d3300 and now want to edit and clean my images , but cannot find any information about when photoshop elements 12 will be able to do this , any help people.

The soon-to-be-released Camera Raw 8.4 includes support for the D3300. It's only available as a beta for Photoshop CS6 and CC at the moment.
    https://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2014/02/camera-raw-8-4-rc-and-dng-converter-8-4-r c-now-available.html
However you can download and install the DNG 8.4 converter (also a beta version), convert your D3300 Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in Elements 12

  • I updated to Lightroom 4.4, and it doesn't recognize RAW files from a Nikon D300s.

I updated Lightroom this past week to V.4.4.  Now, I cannot import any photos because Lightroom does not recognize the RAW photos.  Prior to the update, it recognized the files and imported photos without any problem.  Now I'm dead in the water.  Any advise as to how to fix this?  Or revert back to a prior version of Lightroom?

Are you by any chance using Nikon Transfer to copy the files from your memory card to your computer?  If so, that could be the problem because there is a known issue with Nikon Transfer making some small change to each file.  If this isn't the problem, are you using LR to import directly from the camera or from the card via a card reader?  That could be the issue.  Try copying the files using Windows Explorer or Mac Finder to a folder on your hard drive and then see if LR can import from there.  That may help you narrow down the issue.  I have a D300s and have not had this problem with LR 4.4.

  • RAW files from my new Canon SL1 to Lightroom?

I just bought a new Canon Rebel SL1 as a second, lightweight camera. But I just discovered my Lightroom won't recognize my RAW files. Is there an update or plug-in to let me do this?

You don't say which version of Lightroom you're running, but I'd assume 3 (or lower) as this camera model was first supported in LR 4.4 according to the Lightroom Journal blog.
So you either need to purchase an upgrade (current version is 5.5 - and has a significant number of improvements over LR 3/2/1), or start using the free DNG converter provided by Adobe to convert your files into DNGs which can then be read by the version you have. There's an FAQ on this right here in the Lightroom forum.
    Hope this helps

  • When will Lr 5 support the new Canon 7D Mark II?

Just got the Canon 7D Mark II today!!! So far I am very impressed with it but I shot everything in RAW. I guess will have to use the Canon software to convert the files. I don't like that software so I'm hoping that Adobe has an update soon!

Keith I have read the above messages and I didn't find that anyone, using your words, presented: "always someone else's fault... attitude that frequently pervades these threads".
I also own the new Canon 7D Mark II. I totally forgot the camera raw lag time for new cameras. It has been years since I bought a camera when it first came out. So in my mind not thinking about the converter available lag time is a reasonable lapse. I admit it is my issue and Canon's and not Adobe. My issue because I forgot about the lag time and didn't even think about the issue. If you prefer, you can say that I am an old lady so no wonder she forgot she is just an old lady.
Where the actual problem comes from camera manufactures, not Adobe. They should have the software available to Adobe and other software manufacturers that work with the CR file prior to the deployment of the camera. They are making good money on the cameras. I would think they would want the whole package available at one time from shutter release to picture release. Maybe someone can explain why camera manufacturers don't release their file format 3 months ahead of the release for purchase of new cameras. That would allow software manufacturers to prepare the software so that it is available when the camera is ready. That would avoid discussions such as this one.
Yes I have already started shooting both Raw and JPEGs, before I read the above suggestion. Yes, I am waiting on Adobe to come out with the needed update. Yes, I take responsibility for getting caught with my software down to my ankles.

  • Running CS5 on a Macbook Pro. Will not read raw files for a new Canon T5i camera. Can update the current RAW?

Running CS5 on a Madbook Pro. Will not open RAW image files from a new Canon TRi camera. Can I update to latest RAW processor with current CS5, or must I update to CS6 on the MacBook?
    Jack

ACR 7.4 is the one that will read T5i raw files and it is CS6 specific. You can upgrade for $200 Standard or $400 Extended in you need 3D support.
You can also see if converting your T5i files to .dng format will do just as well.

  • When will Aperture support Fujifilm Xpro1 raw files??

Does anybody knows when will Aperture support Fujifilm Xpro1 raw files?? It have been pendning for a while already, really hope there will be an update soon. Thanks.

I firmly disencourage people to purchase Aperture these days.
To everyone asking me for advise as a Pro photographer.
Apple attitude on this issue is of abandonement and ignorance of users needs.
Unfortunately, the feeling is that this is going to be the permanent standard.
They are not providing translations, not providing support to models such as X-Pro1 that has received inmediate reaction from major developers, neither do care for users that openly claim for RAW support for an extended model as X-10.
This is somehow another sign of apple arrogance in term of market predominant coompany.
If Apple do not begin to lose sales and an importan market share this is going to be worse and worse.
    Best way: Ignore Aperture.
Adobe is nowadays the ONLY option for photographers.
I don't like Lightroom so I must select my shots with Photo Mechanic, or Xnview and then go to photoshop.
    Sick of Apple.

    See:
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
You need the 8.2 version of the ACR module, and PS10 is too old to be updated.
So, you can choose between 3 solutions:
    - update PSE to PSE12
    - use the Canon software to convert the raw files to the tiff format which PSE10 can handle
    - download and install the free Adobe DNGconverter which is able to convert a whole folder of CR2 raw files to the Adobe DNG raw format which PSE10 can handle.
The last two solutions are free.

  • Creative Cloud is always empty and I cannot update LR and PS and cannot open RAW files from my new camera!

My Creative Cloud is always empty.  I've had this trouble for over a year.  I cannot update Lightroom because of it and Photoshop does not update properly.  I cannot open the RAW files from my new camera, a Nikon D750.  Each time I want to update, I have to talk to you and delete things and reinstall things but it doesn't fix it properly!
I have contacted Adobe before and always have to go through a tedious delete stuff and reinstall, then next time it happens all over again.
I'm really fed up with it and want to know how to fix it properly.  I am in the UK, if that makes any difference.

  • Aperture refuse to open the RAW files from my new Nikon D7100.

Aperture refuse to open the RAW files from my new Nikon D7100. What can I do? Thanks for help!

the raw support of new cameras will be made with a Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update not with a aperture update. But when the new RAW- Update will arrive is not sure.
And that usually can only be installed with newer Aperture versions. You cannot use the latest raw support with Aperture 3.2.4, unless you are able to update to Aperture 3.4. And earlier raw support versions cannot be used with Aperture 2.
See the footnotes on the Raw Support page  http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html. That is why asked for the Aperture version.
** Requires Aperture 3 or later.
*** Requires Aperture 3.4 or later.

  • I can no longer import raw files from my Panasonic Lumix LX5 into Aperture 3.3.2 - raw files from my other Canon cameras are fine. Am still running Lion - NOT Mountain Lion. Tried all available software updates - no joy. Any ideas please?

I can no longer import raw files from my Panasonic Lumix LX5 into Aperture 3.3.2 - raw files from my other Canon cameras are fine. Am still running Lion (10.7.4) - NOT Mountain Lion. Tried all available software updates - all up to date apparently but still no joy. OS X Lion shows the LX5 as a supported file format. I dont want to have to upgrade to Mountain Lion just to see if this solves the problem. Any ideas please.

Since when did this happen? Directly after you upgraded to Aperture 3.3.2?
If it happened directly after the upgrade the problem may be, that the raw support for your camera got lost. For some posters it helped to register the raw support again, see this post by Alan Roseman:
Aperture 3 preview of raw file greenish
If this does not help, you may need to reinstall Lion to bring back the raw support.
But if the problem occured independent of a new installation, ypu may have a problem with your camera or the card you are using. Have you tried to use a different card or to reformat the card in the camera?

  • I can't open the RAW files from my new Nikon D4s camera in photoshop? How do I download the latest software for RAW files?

I can't open the RAW files from my new Nikon D4s camera in photoshop? How do I download the latest software for RAW files? Cheers!

What version of Photoshop are you running?  You will need at CS5, CS6, CC or CC2014.  Each version needs a different ACR-plug-in to open files from that camera.
If you are on CS4 or earlier, you'll need to upgrade—or, in the alternative; look for, download, instal, launch and run the free, stand-alone DNG Converter 8.6 on each file of raw NEF files to convert them to raw DNGs first so you can open them in your version of Photoshop and ACR plug-in higher than 2.4.

  • Recent camera update did not do all raw file formats of new Canon 5D2

The last camera raw update addressed only one of the three raw file formats of the new Canon 5d Mark II.
Why only do one and not all three?
The other two raw formats that need to be done are sRaw1 and sRaw2.
    Thank you for your support.

  • Elements 10 will not read RAW files from my new Lumix G5

All my RAW files taken with Lumix G1 are fine but the RAW files from my new camera (Lumix G5) won't open. What should I do?
Looking at help in E10, it says ACR is version 6.7.0.339
    Elements 10 is version 10.0 (20110831.m.17215)
    Any ideas?

You need at least ACR 7.2 for those raw files, and ACR 7 is not compatible with PSE 10. So you have three choices:
    1. Upgrade to PSE 11 (not the mac app store version, which is stuck at 7.1). If you are considering this, I would wait a month or so, since Adobe historically releases a new version every Sept/Oct.
    2. Use the panasonic software (silky pics?) to convert the raw files and send the resulting images to PSE for further processing.
    3. Download the free adobe DNG converter, which can create DNG files that are compatible with your version of ACR.
