When will the Nikon D810 raw files be able to import into lightroom please?

When will there be an update for Lightroom so I can use raw files from a Nikon D810?

The camera was just released for sale a week or so, ago, and the current LR 5.5 is older than that, so how would Adobe be able to support a camera that wasn't available, yet, unless they had a pre-release copy, several months in advance, in time for including in LR 5.5
Adobe Labs - http://labs.adobe.com has recently published a release candidate of the PS Plug-in ACR 8.6 RC that lists support for the D810.  There is a download for PS-CS6 and another for PS-CC/2014.
For Lightroom users, you can use the DNG Converter 8.6 RC available in the CS6 download set for ACR 8.6 RC.
Because this is pre-release software, keep in mind that something in the support for the D810 could change before final release, and thus your images might look slightly different.
There is one known issue with the D810 support in the ACR 8.5 RC release, and that is it doesn't know how to process the new 9 megapixel Small Raw format, but Adobe has said the final release, will.
I'd expect a final release within 4-6 weeks if it is the same as those in the past.

  • Nikon D810 raw files on LR 4.4

I understand LR 4.4 will not read the Nikon D810 RAW files. however, I see several plugins for various Adobe products.
I could not figure out which plugin I can install, if any?
    Thanks

Lightroom does not use plugins (Adobe Camera Raw) to read Raw files. It has its own Raw engine built in.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
The Nikon D810 was first supported in Lightroom 5.6.
Support for newer cameras is never added retrospectively to older versions of the software so you'll never be able to open Raw D810 files in LR 4.4.
    Choices:
    Upgrade to Lightroom 5, or
Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all D810 Raw files to DNG format then edit the DNGs in LR 4.4

Will lightroom 4.4 import Nikon d810 raw files.

don´k know if this will be delivered. Cannot continue to edit.
    Yes, I used Nikon Transfer.
When I try to import directly in Lightroom the previews are not
available and when I click Import, same error message rises.

    Hi,

  • Can i open and edit nikon d810 raw files in lightroom 4.4

can i open and edit nikon d810 raw files in lightroom 4.4

No. Lightroom 4.x will never be able to open Raw files from the D810.
D810 support has only just been added to the RC version of Camera Raw 8.6. It is never retrospectively added into older versions.

Adobe will probably add D810 support to the next version of Lightroom.
Either way you'll have to upgrade to Lightroom 5 to be able to open D810 Raw files in Lightroom.

  • Does Photoshop CS6 support Nikon D810 raw files?

Does Photoshop CS6 support Nikon D810 raw files? Photoshop won't allow me to open the raw files and Bridge won't display the files either. I tried to download the camera raw plug-in 8.6 but read somewhere that Photoshop CS6 doesn't support it? HELP!!!

It should. The D810 had support since version 8.6. (A relative newcomer.) Did you use Help > Updates on the menu bar?
Take note that the updates for Camera Raw in CS6 only supports updates for cameras and nothing more. You won't get any of the new features inherent in the versions for Photoshop CC (like the filter brush in the Graduated Filter).

  • Does Elements 10 support the Nikon D3200 RAW Files?

Does Elements 10 support the Nikon D3200 RAW Files?

Not yet. You need to wait for the next update. It's already been added to CS6 and Lightroom 4; so it should follow soon.
If you can't wait and convert from NEF to DNG you can use PSE10 but always keep your originals as back-up and incase you need to use Nikon software.

  • HT201071 Can I open Nikon D810 raw files in Aperture?

Compatibility of Aperture and Nikon D810 raw files

Yes, finally. The support has been added with the Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 5.07 ( http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1757)
    on Sep 16, 2014.
This update requires Mavericks at least.  1pda will not be able to install it, if the profile signature Mac OS X (10.6.7) is still correct. It requires a system upgrade.

  • How to open Nikon D5300 Raw files in PSE 11? [was:Help Please]

With My old Nikon D90 Elements 8 would open raw files OK I now have a new Nikon D5300 and when trying to open a raw file it tells me that it is the wrong type of file Help Please
    Andy

There isn't a generic nikon raw. Each camera has its own raw format and the camera raw plugin has to be updated every time a new camera comes out. The D5300 requires ACR 8.3, which is only compatible with PSE 12. So you have three options:
    1. Upgrade to PSE 12.
    2. Use the nikon software to convert the files and send the converted images to PSE for any further editing.
    3. Download the free Adobe DNG converter and use that to create dng files that your version of camera raw can understand.

  • Can I use my Nikon D810 RAW files in Photoshop CS6?

I have just got a Nikon D810 and I am using CS5 at the moment but the Raw files are not working, if I get CS6 will I be able to use the camera files?
    Thanks
    Chris

You can either upgrade to CS6/CC or use Adobe's free DNG converter to convert proprietary raws to the universal DNG raw format. Here are the links:

  • Which Mac to recommend using Nikon D810 RAW files, New iMac or MacPro?

I am still working with a MacPro 1.1, Lightroom 5 and a Nikon D4 + a D600. I am about to buy a D810 and i know the RAW files on my old Mac are just too large.
So i will need a new Mac.
Anybody have experience with the latest iMac and the D810? I think my only problem with the iMac is the glossy screen… The MacPro is about twice as expensive, mmhh
Looking forward to hear some suggestions...
    Marc

Clarification: this is a user forum; you are not addressing Adobe here.
The answer to your question as phrased is: never.
CS5 is history and it is not longer supported.  There will not be any updates or bug fixes for CS5.
You need to convert the raw NEF files from your D810 to raw DNGs using the free, standalone Adobe DNG Converter 8.6 RC (beta), the first version ever to support that camera..

  • Lightroom 5.6 won't apply watermarks to my images when I export; Nikon D610 RAW files exporting in .jpg

I am working with .NEF files from a Nikon D610 in Lightroom 5.6.  When I go to export and choose add text watermark, the files are exported but the text watermark is not added.  Occasionally some of the images from the batch will have the watermark, but it will only be some, not all.  Anyone else run into this problem?

What is the file format you choose to export as? If it is ORIGINAL or DNG, you will not get watermarks.

  • Will we ever be able to import RAW files from iPad camera roll into Lightroom Mobile?

Is this a planned feature, or should I look elsewhere for iPad photo editing?
I only shoot in RAW and I would sometimes like to do a quick edit in the field. As it stands, Lightroom Mobile is a completely useless application for me. Needing to import the photos to my Macbook in order to use a dumbed-down version of Lightroom makes no sense to me. Why do I need Lightroom Mobile if I need to have my computer with me to use it anyways?
Without this feature, I don't quite understand what Lightroom Mobile is supposed to accomplish. Is it purely for people who only own a desktop and need to perform basic edits on the go? Is that a large enough demographic to develop an entire app? Even if it is meant for only those people, it would still likely be far more useful to them if they could import RAW photos in the field and not have to stop by their studio/home to import and move into a collection first.

The likely real reason why Adobe doesn't do this yet even though many people have requested it is that it would cost them dearly in bandwidth and storage capacities. Right now only smallish lossy compressed, downscaled dngs or simple jpegs travel to and from Adobe's servers which is tenable. Sending full raw files from 24+ MP cameras is probably not something they can realistically do yet. Having the iPad try to generate the lossy dng will likely show how very low powered they are in comparison to a simple laptop and is likely not yet a realistic solution so you'd still have to send the file online and have the dng generated by a server.
I use the mobile thing for simple iPad slideshows and simple portfolios. The color is really good as the current generation of iPad screens is very well done with close to sRGB gamut. I'll sometimes do some simple edits but it is really not very useful for that yet. It shows promise but is not useful as a laptop replacement yet on trips. You're better off getting a lightweight laptop (many cheapo ultralight windows ones out there nowadays and the MacBook Airs are great for this) and running the full Lightroom on that if you are traveling.
