When will the pricing madness end in the cellular market?

For one, text messages are data.  In fact, they use VERY LITTLE data.  Please include text messages in the data plans.  Stop fleecing us by calling it something different and charging exorberant prices.  Why don't you charge extra minutes for using certain words?  It is the same concept!  And actually, now that everything is digital, voice is also data.
Why can I only get the Friends & Family feature if I bump my minutes to 1400+ (on a Family plan)?  If I bump from 700 to 1400 I really don't even need to use the Friends & Family feature.  However, if I could still use it on the lower plan, it would certainly be a benefit to me... THE CUSTOMER.  So you offer something great to people which I'm sure you figured is hardly even used because of the way you set it up.
If I plop down the $30 for unlimited text messages, why can I share it between all my other lines on my Family Plan.  My real question is, why can't I share my data plan???  Same concept!  But you gouge us whenever possible.
Why can't I buy a smartphone without a data plan?  I don't even want to use the data plan.  I'll use WiFi, which is way faster than your network and MUCH cheaper.
It is just non-stop consumer gouging and screwing, and it makes me sick.  Stop being so money hungry.  I just read that Verizon is making record profits (profits = consumers paying way too much) and the top executives are making hundreds of millions of dollars, and to help funnel even more of our money to the already rich, Verizon is cutting employee benefits (like health care).
What a great citizen this company is.
Why doesn't Verizon sit down and figure out a FAIR, HONEST pricing structure and see how many consumers flock to you.  WE ARE BEGGING FOR IT!
Also, in the checkout for new phones (plus 2 year contract), you should clearly identify the TOTAL PRICE of a phone + subscription for the life of the contract.  It would just put things in perspective better.  I mean, a "Free" phone plus $30 data + 2 year contract at $80 mo = $2600 paid for phone usage over 2 years.  So it really doesn't make a more expensive phone (like an iPhone) seem bad at $2800-$2900 for the same service (with a much better phone).  That is only $8-$12 more per month.  Subsidize the entire price of the phones (and roll it into the monthly bill) and you will sell a crazy amount of high-end phones.
Also, what's up with all the Droid advertising?  Even in My Account.  Don't you see I have an iPhone?  Oh yeah, the advertising nets you even more money!

In all fairness...
Consumers can talk with their wallets instead of complaining which they don't.  Churn rates affect what companies do...  If people who pay for text suddenly stop paying for them... Well they change the plans...  They are a business and it's about maximizing profits...  So drop your text plan and convince others to do the same.
Consumers  have given up power to these companies and cry about it for far too long...
