When Will These N9 Malfunctions be Fixed?

Hello Nokia or who ever in charge,
First of all, thank you so much for producing and  upgrading N9 software into PR 1.1. It is perfectionist  phone that I have ever owned,  but as a users we are facing some problems like sending a text file  from the phone to someone through MMS option using a file manager like an Active file Pro or so. Just like the old days using Symbian System. There is no option at all other than Email, NFC and Bluetooth. The second malfunction it is hard to read and view text files in N9 phone. My last concern, you can't call using video!. So when is it possible to fix these unsatisfied issues? please  let us know.
 Thank you again

What is the verdict ? In spite of the latest update PR1.2 for the N9 , our above questions still rising
none of them accomplished through the packages of the major firmware (PR1.2),
although it was mentioned that it will include at least possibility of video call over 3g. Which is very important for us as users.Yeah
I'm sad what about you?

  • When will these issues with iOS 8.0.2 be fixed?

Admittedly, this problem has been going on since Apple released the core iOS 8 software, but it's glaring (worse) here. Let's go to the beginning.
I own an iPhone 4S 8gb and upon release of the core iOS 8 software, I installed it like a fool and I didn't know that a lot of problems came with it, so the next morning, my iPhone's internet (connected to a WiFi network) was shotty as sin and I really needed it at the time because of a Transit thing I was doing until recently. The features that came with the iOS 8 is impressive, but I also was shocked when I couldn't even listen to my music for a whole day (I fixed that when I hooked up and synced in iTunes), despite my library having the same number of songs before the update on the iPhone. Now, I've heard of these problems from a friend who apparently works for the Apple tech department days after I discovered them myself, so I waited for the next update in hopes that it'd fix all of the core iOS 8's problems, but... short and to the point, this update is even worse than the core software. Problems include, but not limited to:
Safari lags like crazy at times, especially when you're trying to type something. Also, Safari seems to not direct you to Google unless you searched for the topic again; I don't like doing that. I like typing in a research topic in Google's engine only once.
Siri is much worse than the 7.1.2 software; the assistant can't tell what you're saying 69% of the time. I'm also not pleased with holding the home button to speak to the assistant and continue holding it until you finish speaking to her/him.
Apps freeze and become unresponsive and in common cases, they crash in the middle of the night (a perfect example would be YouTube) while I'm sleeping (not 100% sure who's to blame for this, Apple or the app developers themselves).
(refer to the lagging Safari bullet) The keyboard lags on you badly and I'm not just talking about Safari, this problem is every where you need the keyboard in, including basic texting in iMessage.
The Music app apparently can't judge your selection at times, like, when you select a song from your library, it takes 3 hard pushes on the touchscreen to select it and sometimes, it randomly selects the next song under the one you want to listen to.
Did I mention the constant lag?
I'll probably find more problems as I scan though the iPhone tonight, but above are the main problems that I have with 8.0.2, not 8. I know what you're probably saying: "Why not just downgrade back to 7.1.2 where you didn't have barely any problems at all with your iPhone?" Well, apparently, Apple stopped signing the software when I tried to restore the iPhone in iTunes to that firmware, so I find it completely pointless to try to downgrade. My core question is "When will these issues with iOS 8.0.2 be fixed?" I know the iPhone 4S can work with the newest iOS, because, if it wasn't, iTunes wouldn't have notified me of the update. I was thinking of getting an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus June or July of next year, but if the software is still buggy at the time, I'll stick to my 4S until my contract ends at the end of 2015

Also, I've noticed that the 4S' battery life is horrible even if there's just music going on in the background. Common battery life for the iPhone is 3 hours (just having music and data active) and most of the time, I'd have to carry my USB charging cable with wall socket so I don't have to worry about it shutting down on the go and I know it's the software that's the problem because it wasn't like this prior to iOS 8.0.2 or even the core iOS 8. Common battery life for the iPhone on iOS 7.1.2 was atleast 7-9 hours on the same conditions as listed above.

  • With the newest version of Firefox, I can no longer use the Google toolbar! Also, some of my Webroot protection had to be inactivated. When will these features be able to be used with Firefox again?

With the new version of Firefox, the Google toolbar and something with my Webroot protection had to be inactivated to install. I use many of the features on the Google toolbar daily, and miss not being able to use it. When I try to reinstall, the message is that it is incompatible with Firefox 5.0. And I am not sure which features of my Webroot protection had to be deactivated for Firefox to install and run, but I want to retain my firewall and virus protection. And I MUCH prefer to use Firefox! So - I know you are always developing and improving. When will these become compatible again with Firefox.

The Google Toolbar is from Google and support for it can only come from Google, and Google has eliminated it from Firefox, and it never was in Google. Even Google has indicated that the features are available in Firefox through other extensions. But the features are really available in Firefox even without extensions from what I've seen because Firefox has very powerful bookmarks and knowing how to use them with JavaScript, substitution, and keyword shortcuts is a key to using Firefox.
'''The Google Toolbar is no longer supported by Google in Firefox 5 and up''', you may be able to get what you want from it for a limited time, the directions to install the Google Toolbar were posted before Google actually announced dropping support.

  • Firefox v3.6 is unstable and v4.0 is worse. When will these be fixed?

Firefox v 3.6.17 is unstable and will not load CNN websites 50% of the time. Will not load other websites consistently, just takes me to a Yahoo help screen.
Firefox v 4.x is worse. Most unstable.
I have performed every recommended upgrade Firefox has suggested and yet nothing improves.
    When will Firefox be fixed?

A lot of glitches in Fireworks can be solved by deleting the preferences file. First you will have to make sure your Library folder is viewable and you are accessing the root folder on your hard drive. In recent releases of Mac OS, it is hidden by default.
First, show your Hard Drive by following these directions:
In the Finder, choose Preferences from the Finder menu.
Click the General icon on the toolbar.
Select "Hard disks" in the "Show these items on the desktop:" section.
    Close the Finder Preferences window.
Next, you'll have to unhide the library folder by following these instructions:
In the Finder, choose View > Show View Options (or press Command-J).
Near the bottom of the resulting View-Options palette is a setting called Show Library Folder. Enable this option. Your Library folder is immediately visible.
In that folder, find the Preferences folder. Then in the preferences folder, find the file with this name (or similar): "com.adobe.Fireworks.12.0.0.plist" and delete it.
Restart your machine and Fireworks and your problem may be solved.

  • When will the iTunes store be fixed?

For the past few days I have not been able to login into my itunes store, which has kept me from downloading new music and enjoying myself. I know that other people are having a similar problem (error 5002), but there has been no response for when it's going to be fixed. If anybody has new info please let me know, especially if you work at Apple! thanks

for well over a month i have pretty much pulled all my hair out over not being able to open the store. this week i finally got on, but that didn't last long and went down again while itunes was still open. but today it was great, fast connection right away, so i bought some things. then when i had to restart my computer, yet again no luck opening the store.
however, i found that if i restart my computer, it will open eventually. so i just shut down and restart until i get itunes to open. i am computer illerate, and haven't attempted any of the fixes noted here on the boards. but since SO many people have issues i wish apple would at least acknowlege the problem. sigh

  • When will it be released a fix for itunes 7.7?

As many other users, both from Mac and Windows platforms, i am experiencing a lot of problems with iTunes 7.7, being the hardest one the unability to close or quit the program normally (i have to kill it trough the task manager) and the impossibility to synchronize my ipod with it.
When will this be fixed? Why aren't you warning people about the errors and you , apple people, keep publising this buggy version? Is there a way to downgrade to 7.6??

We're pretty much all your fellow users here, Ogru. This is not a place to get answers officially from Apple. Should Apple ever have anything official to say about iTunes, they'll either say it in the forum of a KnowledgeBase document or just by releasing an update.
That said, many people are having no problems with iTunes 7.7. Perhaps if you'll post details about your problem, someone here can help you sort them out.

  • Firefox 4 will no longer save tabs on closing. I downgraded back to 3.6. When will the new system be fixed?

When closing my browser window, Firefox 3.6 used to ask if I wanted to save my tabs for the next session. Firefox 4 does not do this. I downgraded back to 3.6. When will the version 4 be adjusted to again allow this?

I tried that, it seemed to work, but then stopped, and only popped up the most recent tab that I was working on, not the multiple tabs that I had open at the time I closed the session. In order to actually get the full session back, I'd have to go through History and restore tabs one by one.
What a pain! I've gone back to 3.6.16 until they get this fixed.

"In fact-if I knew anything about coding I would go out and develop it myself just to prove you wrong. :P"
    But you don't!
And even if you did, it would be in the same camp as the jailbreakers as Apple, from what I understand, requires you to go through them to get apps distributed, and I am more than sure that they will pull up the whole quality issue when they tell you that your app developed on your homebrew SDK app will not be distributed. Kind of ironic from a company that has the history of Apple, eh?

Oh, I see where you are going with this. The cat is neither alive nor dead. It does not exist as it has not been observed. Unless the cat in question lives in a black bag aboard a ship in the Colonial Fleet. That one was dead even when it was in scene, apparently.

  • I upgraded to firefox 5. No google toolbar, and no mcafee site adviser. When will these be available again? I'm not happy about losing my google bookmarks

I'm questioning whether the firefox 5 update is legitimate? The reason is that when I upgraded to version 5 I lost several things from version 4 (all my Google toolbar, bookmarks, mcafee site advisor etc.) How can I recover these important items? I'm not a happy camper right now.

  • Sony - when will you step up to fix A7r and lossy compression?

Sony - Nikon was sued for their D600 issues.  Why not do the right thing and address the A7r and lossy compression? You have a number of experts discussing the A7r shutter shock and Sony's lossy compression scheme and not yet a response from Sony.  Sony advertises that their cameras provide 14 bit color but the Sony compression algorithm never delivers more tha 8 bits of color depth according to file sizes.  This is deceptive and may amount to fraud.  Users want a camera that at the least provides an option for TRUE 14 bit color depth (even at the expense of frames per second) and a software update that eliminates shooting in the shutter range where shutter shock and blur are an issue. http://www.josephholmes.com/news-sonya7rshuttershake.html http://blog.kasson.com/?p=4674 http://diglloyd.com/blog/2014/20140212_2-SonyA7-RawDigger-posterization.html http://diglloyd.com/blog/2014/20140116_1-Sony-A7R-shutter-vibration.html

I'm interested in the upcoming A7S, before releasing it I hope, this time you make sure: 1) There is no light leaks of any kind, whatsoever. 2) Implement same kind of anti-shutter-shock 2s delay as in Olympus OM-D EM5 has in firmware, if you can't fix the shutter vibrations mechanically. 3) Provide a way to store truly lossless raw (should be easier with the smaller 12mpx sensor, maybe..?) Just ask some of the professionals who have wined about these issues have a go with the A7S before release to make sure it doesn't have these or some other similiar issues that hurts your reputation after release.. Tnx

  • When will the battery drain be fixed on the 4s.  I don't get a full day out of it unless I don't use it much.

Has anyone heard of when Apple will resolve the battery life issue with the Iphone4s?  Mine does not last a day if I use it as I normally would.

iOS 5.1 is currently in the works with Developer Beta last I heard from news sources. Your better option is to have handy chargers wherever you go. Consider also purchasing a battery case from many websites. Mophie makes a battery case that fits both the i4 and 4S for $90, but it's worth it. It uses a Micro USB charger that fits on several Bluetooth headsets as well. So you don't need more than one charger.
