When working in literoom 3.6 or 4.0 (I have both) use mostly 3.6 ... if you have finished working with a group of imported files and want to clean up all the libraries in the left column knowing that I would just re-import the photos if I chose to work them agan from scratch, HOW DO YOU CLEAN UP the lirary. Most times I work with photos and do not need to save the library or catalog or whatever you call it that stores the settings done to a group of photos imported. Thanks.

I have 10s of 1000s of photos in my Lightroom catalog and don’t generally remove them other than a years worth at a time as my working hard-drive fills up, but I always have at least the last year or two of photos online in my current LR catalog.
What I do to make some order of things and allow myself to find the newest photos is to segregate each group of photos I’ve taken by creating a foldername consisting of the date and subject/event/photoshoot-name and further group those date-subject folders into another folder named for the year and month and finally group all the months for a year under a single folder for that year. . For example:
Pictures
   2013
      2013-06_June2013
      2013-07_July2013
        2013-07-14_GonnermanWedding
         2013-07-20_JiggeryPokery
I usually am only working on one set of folders and a time and collapse the other months’ folders.

You haven't mentioned the exact version of Photoshop you are running. As the always helpful and knowledgeable JJMack told you, new versions of Photoshop do have auto save and recovery when enabled in your Photoshop Preferences.
However, no auto recovery and/or autosave is a match for a defective machine. As suggested by Mr. Cox, you should do a thorough inspection of all your hardware ASAP.

I don't have a solution for you, but just wanted to let you know I used to have the exact same problem. I resolved it (for the most part....about 90% of the time, anyway) by adjusting the screensaver and power settings to never let the computer go to sleep.

I'm using Adobe media encoder and it outputs the file as f4v formate and when inserted into the adobe captivate 8 project, I found that I'm still getting the same error message after publishing the project. When working on my ipad with pages and numbers, I have experienced it freezing up and i cannot access the files?

When I am using Pages or Numbers app on my ipad it has frozen up? I cannot edit, open any of the files. Then later I can which is what I am hoping with the document I just produced? Is it because it goes to the cloud?

This happens to me once in a while using Pages, but the "freeze" is very brief and I can usually just wait a short period of time and then the documents are accessible again. I have no idea what causes it, but it may be due to the fact that a file is being uploaded to iCloud as you suggest, but I don't know that for sure.
Sometimes I close Pages from the task bar (double tap the home button and tap and hold down on the Pages icon until it wiggles then tap the minus sign to close it, then tap the screen above the tsak bar.) And when I launch Pages again, it is back to normal.

Disable updating of the menu widget when working with Muse file?

First of all thank you Adobe for creating Muse - I really like it a lot!
My question:
when I work on my website with 250+ pages, it strains the performance to make even the slightest changes to the page structure. I work with two Masters each with much the same horisontal menu widget.
Adding, deleting and rearranging pages makes the PC (Windows 7 laptop of some but not awesome power) make a halt and take a deep breathe for some seconds. It really interupts the flow of working.
A crude work around for this is to removing the menu widget in the two masters and put it into a new master page, containing only the copied menu from the two other masters and keeping the rest of the header in place on the original masters to use for aligning on the pages. This way, only one page has to update when working with adding, deleting and rearranging pages.
I have tried to look for a preference to disable updating the Menu widget when working on the page structures and just enable it the update again when the work is done? does it exist? else I would recommend it strongly :-) Since my work around is a bit tricky/risky to use after publishing ;-)
Again, thanks a lot for this nice program. Being a selftought CS (now CCC) user I like the ease of control of the webdesign you can get with Muse (at the dispence of other features of course - if you ever wanted to add some sort of database-lookup feature it would be MUCH appreciated. One workaround is to use iframe and an external search/lookup page, that returns results with links back to parent pages. A bit funny construction though :-) ).

It can be very processor intensive if you have multiple Master pages with their own All Pages menu widget. Take a look at the following threads and refer to Zak's response.

See if you are able to use just one All Pages menu widget at your site while taking advantage of the hierarchical Master page feature.

Adobe Crashes when working/editing PDF's

adobe crashes when working on certain PDF's that require editing. Have updated to latest 11.0.09. Hangs when trying to save file. Didnt do it with previous versions. Running W8.1 Pro.

File has been saved to Desktop, and C:, still does not work. Seems to not mater where we edit the forms from, it crashes occasionally when we edit, but always when we save or save as. Tired downloading from IE, Chrome and Firefox.
Running 11.0.09, Im running .08 on another computer which works fine perhaps I should roll back to a previous version?
Have also tried running AcroRd32.exe in difference compatibility modes (W7) to no avail.
Definitely using Adobe Reader.

Crashing, no 'UNDO' when working with Chinese Text

We have a number of users working in InDesign CS4 6.0.3 on Windows XP SP3. When they enter Chinese text into text boxes, frequently their UNDO command is no longer available. This basically renders files unusable. In addition to this, the application will frequently crash when working with Chinese text. The only workarounds that have sometimes worked include:
1.       Switching keyboard mapping or just selecting English to see if it affects the Undo function.
2.       Reset the preferences for InDesign.
3.       UNDO problem occurred when jumping between web browser and InDesign. Workaround was to select a menu item from within InDesign - any menu item, it didn't matter - and the key command began working again.
Has anybody else run into these problems?

Peter, have you had any problems accessing the web pages for the Release Notes? After finally digging under about 3 layers of redundant links (annoying in and of itself), the final links to Release Notes for InDesign patches 6.0.4, 6.0.5, and 6.0.6 brought me to the following:
InDesign 6.0.4 took me to InCopy 6.0.5
InDesign 6.0.5 took me to InCopy 6.0.6
InDesign 6.0.6 took me to InDesign Server CS5
I got approval to install all patches on a person's computer, but now I can't even read the warnings before doing so!

Table contained in a topic causes slow response when working with source

I am using RoboHelp V8.0.2 (I have applied the two fixes available from the Adobe product site).
Here is my issue:
I am documenting a product that has over 1,500 metrics.
I am trying to make a list of 1,077 metrics in one topic (all the metrics are of the same "type" so they are grouped together).
The table presenting these metrics has two columns, a Field Name column and a Description column.
There is not a lot of text within the table - most of the explanations and calculations are defined outside the table.
When I have more than about 400 table rows, the response time working with the topic in source is just horrible.
It took 3 minutes to open the topic in source, another 3 minutes to move the table over .425in from margin.
When I try to close the project, it gets hung up.
Has anyone else run into a problem working with tables within a topic?
I had a similar response time issue with V8.0.0 in general when I first installed it.
Once I installed the two fixes, that problem was (for the most part) eliminated.
I think the second fix specifically addressed response time issues when working in source.
I am going to try this on one of my other writer's machine to see if it is the age of my computer.
My computer setup is:
Dell Precision work station with an Intel Xeon 2.40GHZ processor and 2MB of RAM.
I am using Windows XP Professional 5.1.26 Service Pack 3.0.
I have a 110 GB hard drive with 18 GB available.

Hi Michael.
Interestingly the maximum number of rows you can use when you create a table via the Table > Insert > Table menu item is 100. That said, I've just created a 500 row table and whilst it is slower than a smaller table it is OK. I am also using RH 8.0.2 but on a higher spec PC.

Aperature crashed after 3.3 update. I am a novice at best when working with restore functions. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

I had the 3.3 update window with Aperature pop up and say that I could no longer work with my library until updating Aperature. The update froze up about 90% through the completion of the last set(9 of 9/ 90% complete) and ran over night. My MAC shows version 3.3 installed. When I try to open Aperature, I get a system crash error. I am a novice at best when working with software and I am panicing because of the amount of pictures that I have on the system. I do back them up but do not know how to restore Aperature software(I purchased it before the app store and can not find it). Please advise.
