When you're watching Apple TV, where's your Mac?

Pardon the newbie question, but I don't have an AppleTV (yet) and I don't live near an Apple store, unfortunately. Was wondering what you guys do with your Mac once you have the AppleTV set up. For instance, is it on, in the room where your HD tv is, in another room off?
I was thinking - wouldn't the remote activate your Mac's front row etc?

If you sync your data to ATV you do nto need to leave the MAC on. When you makes changes in iTunes (new content, playlists ......) you do it on your Mac and then is automatically syncs to ATV over wireless. But you can watch synced content with it off.
For instance, is it on, in the room where your HD tv is,

As long as the ATV is in range of your wireless network it can sync. Mine Mac is on the other side of the house from the TV room where the ATV is.
There are options on what content you can sync and stream - it is very cool -

You can pair the ATV remote so it only operates the ATV. Out of the box it will activate Front Row if you Mac is in in close proximity to ATV.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Migration Assistant creates a new user account with the transferred data. The only thing you have to do is to log out or reboot, and log in the new user, so you will access to your new data.

For me, a time capsule is even safe when you have whatter damage op fire in your house. Am I wrong or is it just an additional HD like there are so maney with the only advantage that it goes automatically via your wifi for apple devices?

As I have posted before, You, and others having issues with Verizon would be much better off if you complained to the FCC and FTC as well as your Senators and Congressmen. We, as individuals, have such small voices - use them where they might do the most good.
Also, don't assume that Verizon doesn't monitor these postings, they actively do & sometimes contact those that post complaints.

Use Find My Friends app instead. Much easier to manage, and you won't need each other's id/pw's to do it. They only need to accept your invitations and vice versa.

iTunes credits are, for example, if you download a song from the store and it's found to be corrupt - if the track can't be fixed then iTunes support will tend to give you a song credit for a free download.
When you purchase music from the store then any credits that you have will be used first, then any balance that you have (e.g. from iTunes gift cards or allowances), and any remaining amount will be taken from your credit card.

After running Magician app many files where deleted from my computer, nothing new, After restarting I received the language portion of when you first start to set up a new Mac. Except after the language portion it went immediately to 5 options; install back-up from Time Machine, Disk Utility, Restart from start up disc, etc. I tried doing them all. Disc repair, rebooting from TM, but I don't save everything from TM I use an external HD for backup. None of those options are working for me. Now I get a grey screen with a flashing globe for so many minutes then a folder appears with a ? In the middle of it. What am I to do? Can anyone help me, please!!!

I appreciate the extra forums you suggested I look into. I ended up forceing a Safe Mode reboot on my Mac holding the Shift key. I let the installation process commence and I'm back to the way things were.

I'm having this problem too - although it's a recent issue as I was previously able to view all my iPhoto library albums via Apple TV. Currently I can only get my Photo Stream (presumably via iCloud).
When I go into Advanced within iTunes Preferences, I can't see any options for photos - what do I need to do?

There is a 20mb file size limit over 3G.
If you can connect via wifi, there is no file size limit.
If that is not what you mean, I have no idea-never heard of or seen a message like you describe.

Go to the Microsoft Store online, you can buy a download or a disc, or both.

Yes, but iWork isn't iCloud aware yet though. If you use Pages on the iOs device and want to be able to see it on your computer you do need Pages at least.
