When you recieve an email from apple saying "welcome to your new mac" what does this mean
hey people
i recieved an email saying "welcome to your new mac"
i have already got a imac and was wondering if this means someone has purchesed another mac?
thanks
Did the email ask that you click on a link or provide additional information about yourself? If so it's a phishing scam. Delete the message and ignore it.
If you did buy a new computer sometime recently, then it's just a welcome email, nothing more.

I just bought a new 2 TB "Time Capsule". I read somewhere recently that Apple claims this unit has a "server grade" drive. I am reading here that the Time Capsule appears to have many failures.
I am asking today if the failure rate amongst users here is about typical for a large external drive or....and is the drive contained in this unit just another 2TB drive made by anycompany? The original TC came with a Seagate 500GB ES drive. that was the seagate server series and were a better drive.. i dare say other than the dead power supply many of those drives will still be working fine. It is mean time between failures that is the measure of server grade. Since that time MTBF numbers quoted by drive manufacturers all exceed the value that was in 2008 deemed server quality.. so they will claim server grade. Although all the drives used today are pedestrian domestic cheap ones.
But do not think the drives don't die.. they do..And new bigger drives means more data lost in one hit than ever before. I have seen a spate of WD dead drives.. both black from Gen2 1TB and green lately.. one on the bench today is a Gen4 with 2TB WD20EARS that corrupted the data partition of the drive. Getting data back is expensive and time consuming.. to say nothing of uncertain, having spent all the money that the recovered files are of any use.
Be paranoid... like Bob!! Keep a backup and another backup of all the stuff that you deem important. Remember in the past you had your photo album on film strips and printed in books. Now they are electronic digital format.. and a wave of the emf wand and they all disappear.. !! -

I lost my iPad. I located it using the Find My iPad feature. I got an e-mail from Apply stating it had been found. What does this mean? Does this mean someone used it, tried to use it or what?
When you say an email from Apply, do you mean that the sender is named "Apply"? If so, what is their full email address (e.g. [email protected])?

I want a song purchased on my ipad with my apple id downloaded onto our home mac mini. So i can listen to it via that computer. However the mac is registered to my husbands apple id and it comes up with a message about 90days wait needed or something. What does this mean? And how do I get one measly song downloaded?!
Welcome to the Apple Community.
It sounds like you are trying to change your login in the Tunes store through iTunes on your computer, which you can only do once in 90 days, which you don't need to do for this.

What does this mean?
My iphone 4s just developed a similar problem. Ultimately, after a visit to the Genius Bar at which I was offered a replacement phone for $149, I took the phone to a non-Apple repair shop which diagnosed the problem as tarnished pins in the docking connector and replaced the connector for $49.
The symptoms I experienced were that the phone would not pull a charge. I tried different cables, wall outlet versus computer USB connection, etc. The screen stayed black until I depressed the sleep button, at which time the red battery / lightening bolt symbol would flash three times and then the screen would go black.
If your battery is dead, that icon will not show up at all. If you get the icon, it means your battery is run down and needs to recharge, but the defective docking connector is preventing the battery from taking the charge.
