Whenever I do SAVE (ctrl + s) dreamweaver decides to do undo

It's an ongoing problem with no apparent solution or reason to do so. I'm working on Dreamweaver CC and when going on several minutes into my project with CSS and HTML I tend to save my project via shortcuts (CTRL + S) but Dreamweaver decides, instead of saving, to do an UNDO and not able to un-undo thus my advances are lost forever. Anyone experienced this when saving?

The first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW

If that doesn't help, Rename the Preferences folder:
1) Close Dreamweaver. Show hidden files & folders in your File Manager.
On Mac : ~/Library/Application support/Adobe
On Windows7 : \Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
2) Rename “Dreamweaver CC2014” to “Dreamweaver CC2014_old”
3) Re launch Dreamweaver.
If all else fails, use the CC Cleaner Tools below followed by a software re-install.

Every time I save my work - Dreamweaver puts it straight to the server

Hi,
I did read a post similar to this on Dreamweaver CS5 however it didn't stop my problem. Every time I save my page Dreamweaver put it straight up to the server. I have gone into Site>Manage Sites>Edit>Remote Info and Automatically upload files to server on save is unticked. Is there anything else I can try.
It worked fine up until a couple of days ago.

Whenever i tried save as or save PDF created document in Acrobat std 11 (11.0.7), Acrobat get hanged and unresponsive

I am using Acrobat std 11, (version 11.0.7) with windows 8 in my company. Whenever i try to save any edited or converted or combined PDF document Acrobat software become unresponsive. same issue is there with while i try to insert any new page to PDF from a file, dialog box will not open but it get hanged & become Unresponsive. Did you try to repair your Acrobat once ?If not please try the same and check if that helps you out .
Launch Acrobat >Navigate to Help >Repair Acrobat Installation .
Do you get any error message or any prompts when it hangs and become unresponsive ?
Does this happen with any specific PDF or all the PDF'?
Also you could try to uninstall Acrobat once and they re install it if the above step does not work .
Please restart your machine once as well.

Save sitemap in Dreamweaver CS6

I can see the site map in the site navigation map view but when try to save it by going to File/save site map, I never get a dialog box. I have no idea if it is saving and if it is where. I am trying to have Google crawl my site but the Google manager has a lot of hoops for me to jump through and one is I must have a sitemap on my website. I am new to Dreamweaver and web design. Hopefully this is an easy fix. Thanks for your assistance. Sheri

It appears to be a clear failure of Adobe software to be able to do what virtually any other application can do, and even previous versions of Photoshop can do: Write a file to a server. There's nothing special about image files, other than that they sometimes might be rather large.
Adobe clearly has their own special way of saving files and apparently in implementing it they've triggered a bug in Apple's networking code with regard to actually trying to execute the save. They've stated that they tried to work around Apple's networking bugs with Photoshop CS6. Could it be that this work has made a difference for the worse in some situations, such as the one here? Who can say?
I can only guess, by the presence of this bug and others where users report that they just lose their files, and also that Adobe refuses to implement something simple like employing the recycle bin or trash can, that the actual code inside Photoshop to save files must be a nightmare to work on. But it seems it really does need work: Saving files, even via a network, isn't rocket science, however much mystery Adobe wants to wrap around it. Unix has been facilitating file storage and networking for what, 40 years?
By the way, they have been unable/unwilling to support direct network saves for a number of versions now - pretty much as far back as I can remember.
Station_two is right; chances are you need to work around it by saving your files locally, and manually moving them from/to your server. That really is safer.
But hey, watch for Photoshop 13.0.1 or your next Apple OS update - you never know!

Unbelievable. After working fine for a couple of months, after upgrading to 8.0.1 i cannot do crap anymore. Logic hardcrashes whenever i try to save. The system is sound and solid.

Templates saved by the user usually need to be in
<User>:Library:Application Support:Logic:Project Templates
It seems that Logic will not let you save templates into the 'Main' Library
Note that in Lion, the User Library is hidden by default, so Spotlight will not necessarily find files in there. In the Finder, you can use the Go menu with Option to access the User Library. You can then add it to the Sidebar in the Finder window for future (easier) access. You could also make the User Library folder permanently unhidden using Terminal.

Every time I save my work - Dreamweaver tries to Put it to the server

How do I stop this behavior? I want to save my work constantly - but I don't want to ftp it to the server every two minutes.
I have looked under Edit - Preferences and under Site Management and can not find anything to check or uncheck.

I must have looked at that server listing a zillion times, but it didn't occur to me to click on the ftp link itself to get to the advanced tab. Knew I had seen it somewhere, but couldn't find it again. Well hidden in CS5.

Why can't I save documents in dreamweaver???

I have CS6 and am using windows xp. I made some edits to a page on my website and saved the document. When I tried to open it up again in dreamweaver it showed nothing. Nothing in Design view, nothing in code view. However, if I went to the local location of the file and opened it in a browser, I see my edited file. If I am in Dreamweaver and choose to preview the file in a browser, I will see my edited file. I just can't see it (and thus, edit it) in dreamweaver. What gives??? Help!

I also had to do this experience. Sometimes - for whatever reasons - DW doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should DW completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.

Whenever i use the ctrl button, the firefox page just closes all by itself

i open the firefox page... i use ctrl, the page just disappears.. it gets closed all by itself, incase i hv logge dinto sum mail etc, i open another page after this problem and i wont be logged into my mail.. so i guess those details are also gettin lost.. so i'll hv to log in again nd thn access.. its been happening for a while and its like damn irritating.. pls help!!!

Resurrect: Can I use the Key Board Shortcuts to use Commands like "Save"(Ctrl+S), "Refresh"(F5) etc?

Many months ago Simon Jones asked if it was possible to capture screen level key events and redirect them to perform functions in our screens. There was some discussion about having to get into the detail Silverlight events and a statement of the high
level of difficulty. I would like to resurrect the question and see if anyone in the community has developed a solution to this that could be applied to all screens in a solution.

Cannot save document in InDesign CC, also cannot undo any actions

Yesterday I could save my College Yearbook file that I am working in InDesign CC, today I cannot undo anything as usual - via the edit menu and I cannot save or save as. I do not want to lose all my work! Can anyone can help me??

Ctrl-F key presses fill up undo buffer

I recently discovered a perplexing issue in Final Cut Pro.
The Ctrl-Fkey transport keys apparently are considered actions
by FCP and hence occupy the undo buffer. Using these keys
to shuttle the timeline will effectively wipe out any important actions
previously stored in the undo buffer and replace them with blank
key presses.
Probably not many people use these keys for that purpose however,
some devices do such as the Bella Professional editor's keyboard.
It has a jog/shuttle wheel built in that is configured to use these
very key presses.
Is there anyone who has noticed this behavior or has been able
to resolve it? Incidentally, to use these keys as FCP designates, one
must turn off Keyboard Navigation in the Keyboard & Mouse pref panel
since they are already assigned by the OS.

Steve, the ShuttlePro looks like a terrific
controller.
To be honest I don't think the design of the shuttle knob is that great, and I don't end up using it as much as I thought I would. It's nothing like the real edit controller shuttles of yore.
By speed select keys are you referring to the J and L
keys or the Ctrl-Fkey's?
I meant the key combos that set a specific speed. As above, thinking I would use the shuttle more I set them to speeds I would actually use - skipping ones that weren't useful to me. It was a lot of work which I'll go undo now...
It WOULD be great to have slow frame by frame play
(JK and KL) on the shuttle as well but like you've
already said, apparently it is unique to those
particular keys.
As long as you map to the actual J K and L keys from buttons you can press individually, it works. It doesn't work with the ShuttlePro knob simply because they only allow one button press to be programmed for each position.
My problem was that I had mapped the ShuttlePro buttons and their functions to new places on the keyboard. The JK and KL functions seem to only work when you're mapping to those actual keys. So I have J K & L mapped to buttons on the ShuttlePro (their default, actually) and it works great.
What really disappoints me is that FCP doesn't support a range of playback speeds that would allow something approximating shuttle behavior.
Thanks for bringing the Undo problem to our attention!

Dreamweaver 2014.1 Build 6947 (Mac) - save problem

I updated to latest version yesterday and now have a problem when I save files which shouldn't happen on a 2012iMac saving to a thunderbolt drive - and didn't happen before updating.
When I save a file i get to watch the (very pretty but boring) spinning top for a longtime. If the 'Force Quit' window is open it shows Dreamweaver 'not responding'. Mostly but not always Dreamweaver decides to respond again.
Same site, same settings, same HDD as before the update.
IMac: 3.4GHz i7 32GB RAM
OS X: 10.9.5
What have you broke?

Cannot save a php file in dreamweaver:access denied

I am taking a course in PHP. I am using the environment download XAMPP, and working directly in dreamweaver. My very first project is the traditional Hello World script, a simple echo command... When I go to save the file, Dreamweaver gives me an error message :"Access to Macintosh:Applications:XAMPP:htdocs:Hello.php was denied." No other file name works, even saving a simple page with nothing but premade code on it works... I am stuck and stumped.

I don't think Firefox supports the vCard format by default... But you may want to try this extension, as I think it's what you want:
