Whenever i have 2 windows for one application loaded up i can't open the second window

so like for steam, if i have a chat window and the steam client running and i click on the steam icon in the dock only the client comes up, i have to literally move the client out of the way just to view the message which is hiding behind it, how do i load up the chat box right away

Thats the first thing I tried last night. And reinstalled just textEdit but no luck, then I deleted TextEdit and reinstalled it again and I was still getting the same message. Tried pacifist this morning again but this time I tried reinstalling the whole apps package half way through its says it cant reinstall due to multiple missing files.
Tried the repair option on the OS disc it says everything is fine

Closing one window (x in top right corner) will try to close the second window as well.

If I have two different windows open with tabs, and I try to close 1 window (no tabs), it will also try to close down the second window and ALL the tabs it contains as well. This has never happened in previous versions.
But when I use the shortcut control w, the window closes fine.

How can I open a second window in iTunes?

When I see some albums in the the iTunes Store I want to check whether I have some of the songs already. The Search function in the Store only refers to the store and not to my Library. So how can I open a second window in iTunes (one with the Store and one with my Library) to make it easier to compare?

My understanding it that was removed from iTunes recently (I still run iTunes 7.5 from 2007), so no, not unless you downgrade iTunes (which is not easy). You can send feedback to Apple about reinstating it but I have yet to see Apple reinstate something that appeared to have been deliberately removed from its software, despite vociferous complaints on this forum.

Normally you open the inspector by clicking on the little gear icon in a clip. If that is not working, I would suggest...
1) Shut down iMovie.
2) Trash the iMovie Preferences. See this post for instructions.

Can't open the configuration window in Airport Utility

The Airport Utility was able to recognized my AEBS, but failed to read the setting of my AEBS and therefore can't successfully opened the configuration window; just asked me to check if my computer was within range ???????
Logging into the config panel is just like playing lottery, that's ridiculous !

Yep, similar problem here. Everything works great until I launch Airport Utility and try to access the setting of my TimeCapsule. It sees the unit, but hangs when downloading the configuration. Once it starts spinning trying to download the configuration I lose my Internet access. Odd thing is the problem only appears on my iMac. My MacBook Pro doesn't have a problem.
I got it to work once by deleting the login key from my keychain (thinking it was an authorization problem). After I deleted the key it asked me for the password when I fired up Airport Utility, and then worked fine. However, the problem is back and my trick doesn't seem to be working this time.
I'm still thinking it is an error associated passing credentials for managing the AEBS/TC.

The latest version of Final Cut Pro is 6.0.5.
Use the software updater to get to that version.
My guess is the 6.0.1 was released before FCE 4.0.1.

I purchased a book through iTunes and it downloaded. I synced with my iPad. It shows the book is downloading but that has been going on for two hours and i still can't open the book.

Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that book, click the arrow to the left of it, click the 'Report a Problem' button :

Do you have to get a full windows disc to install on mac or can you download the full windows with a product key?

Well I've been trying to find a full installment of Windows 7 32/64 bit Ultimate/Home Edition/Professional but I can't find a disc. So basically I'm asking can I just download Windows 7 from the internet with the product key or do I HAVE TO get a disc and install it through Bootcamp?

I don't know if you can legally download a full Windows 7 installer, but if you can find one, you just need to copy the image to a flash drive. See:

Amazon has several different versions of Windows 7 available on disk, though. Have you tried them?

Whenever i try to open a video it starts quicktime but can't open the actual window

It's only started happening recently but If i try to open a video, .mp4 for example, it opens quicktime and its shown on the dock and on the top bar but it doesn't actually open the window to play the thing. It just opens the app, nothing else. Does anyone know what could of caused this??

I think that VLC Media Player will play avi files.

Plugins need to be installed in the plug-ins folder inside the application folder.
Are you sure it's compatible to your version of Illustrator?

Can't open the upload window in any browser on my laptop

Open a second window from the first one

Hi,
The problem of my application is loosing control when I open the second window, so I know that the problem is the run of the sub VI but I don't find an other possibility to open a second window from the first one knowing that the first sends its vales to the second one. In an other way I want to open two windows simutaneously.
NB: I attached a simple verssion of my application.
Can someone help me please.
