Whenever I open Firefox 4.0 Beta 6, and try to long onto websites like Hotmail, Facebook RuneScape etc. it won't let me... I'm finding it frusrtrating and annoying since I cannot use Firefox 4.0 Beta 6. It works on other accounts excluding mine - What is this crap rigged or something? I have to resort to crappy Google Chrome and Safari since it messed up on both of my computers... Here's what it says when I double-click the short-cut: " Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features. " Although, it says the way to help - Can you like, dumb it down for me?
ALSO, here's what it says when I go onto http://runescape.com - It says: An error occurred during a connection to www.runescape.com:443.
Can't connect securely because the SSL protocol has been disabled.

Create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

Firefox has a Bookmarks Sidebar you can open and close using Ctrl+b. That's pretty easy to hit if you're trying to bold something, but if a website doesn't intercept it, then it affects your sidebar.

I made a mistake by downloading Firefox 4.0 Beta 12 and I can't work with this version. How do I go back to the older version. I need help quickly as I am unable to print my work. This is bad.

Tech boards all over the globe have reported these glitches for quite a while on order buttons, and the geeks there seem to be all asleep.
Bill Gates must be laughing his head off - and you now have ''Microsoft's VISTA'' on your hands.
They did not fix that either, and folks still use it as an example of an "UPDATE" that should never have been released as the bugs were never Beta Tested out.

Go to System Preferences>iCloud and uncheck 'Contacts'. Note that since the contacts are kept on the server they will disappear from your Mac, so you will need to download them. So you need to follow the following procedure:
1. Go to icloud.com, the contacts page. Select the top contact, then shift click on the bottom contact to select all. Click the cogwheel icon and choose 'Export vCard'. Save this on the Desktop.
2. Go to System Preferences>iCloud and uncheck 'Contacts'. Your contacts will disappear from your Mac (but not from the server).
3. Go to Contacts on your Mac and choose 'Import' from the file menu. Select the vCard file you exported from iCloud.

Upon opening firefox the page scrolls up and I lose the menu bar

In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in

Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

Thought it was a bug with the beta version, so installed v3.6.12. Same thing. Tried uninstalling the whole thing then reinstalling, didn't help.

hello, the file you have referenced appears to be part of Webroot SecureAnywhere - try to remove that software in case you have it installed on your system.

I performed the update to version 7.3.5 and now I cannot undo the update that eliminated a toolbar that I use every day. How do I recover my toolbar? With the upgrade on a windows 7 machine, whenever I open firefox I get a white screen.

Uninstall to my prior version is not working. I need to go back to the original version for two reasons. First, I can no longer use one of the toolbars that was compatible to previous version, but is no longer supported so it was disabled, and two when I try and open firefox from any short cut, I get a solid white screen and I do not get any toolbars nor is there any way to navigate to a tabbed option since I can not see anything and it just hangs there with out going to my homepage or anything else.

Do you see the menu bar or anything else? As for the missing toolbar, this is the case for 90% of Firefox users, for instance the Google Toolbar. To restore it, you need to install Mozilla's Add-On Compatibility Reporter extension from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003 and restart Firefox twice.
As for the white screen, I am not sure what you mean, but your install looks corrupted, you probably need to uninstall Firefox and reinstall from scratch. You may spend too much time and effort otherwise. Back up your settings first if you have any, like Firefox bookmarks.
