Whenever i open firefox it held and not responding and i have to close it through task manager.i have uninstall it and again download it but problem is still there.what shoud i do?

i am using firefox for many years.its a great browser i have ever used.but the problem i am having from couple of days is unexpected.whenever i open my firefox it held and do not respond even cant close it.nothing respond.i have uninstall it many times and then download it and install it again and again but the problem is still there.please help me out.

Firefox 3.6.9 not starting, no crash dialog, no temporary entry in task manager, no entry in Windows Event Log.

FF won't start, even in safe mode. No crash dialog or file is generated. This was a fresh install of FF 3.6.9, which didn't generate any error messages while installing. There is a crash file that appears to be related to the installation, named "InstallTime20100824153629". The file has just one line of text (all digits): 1283985675 .

Problem solved, although I'm unsure of exact cause, since I did a number of other software installs between succeeding FF installs. But I have 2 most likely suspects. The particular PC I'm using was salvaged from another department in my company after being hit with a virus that was quite severe and the dept admins just decided to replace it. While installing other software, I got an error about the replacement PC having the same name in the company domain as this salvage one, although MS-IE-8 ran OK under that condition (now fixed). Also, while uninstalling FF, I had left a console CD'd to the FF run directory so as to add the safe mode option, and the uninstall program never mentioned that it couldn't delete some FF-related files, it just didn't delete them. It wasn't until I went to manually delete them with Win-Explorer that I got a non-deletable message.
For the duplicate machine name problem, it wouldn't be proper to ask you folks at Mozilla to try to detect it, but for the non-deletable file problem, I would recommend that you provide some type of warning message in the uninstall program when some program files can't be deleted.

Firefox freezes ONLY when entering a search with Google, must close FF via task manager in order to restart it - Windows 7 64 bit. Was not like this always.

Sorry, cannot give further details. 4.0 runs smoothly with all websites I visit. Each time when entering a search term in Google I get all the results, but that's it - FF then freezes down completely.

This can happen if you or an extension have modified network.http prefs.
You can check the network.http.* prefs on the about:config page and reset all bold user set network.http prefs to the default value (network.http.proxy.keep-alive should be true) via the right-click context menu -> Reset.

BT Yahoo Mail - cannot reply or forward messages. I have allowed pop ups and restarted but problem is still there.

Also having email issues. I used to be able to recieve and send mail through our outlook server. Now I receive messaes, but cannot send. It immediately reports it got an error trying to send and the message is stuck in my Outbox. I tried dropping the user account and recreating it. Interestingly, when I filled out all the login data, it said it could not verity my outgoing mail settings. I did have an error. I fixed it, and when I saved, it saved fine. However, I still cannot send emails. I got this phone to use for work, and this is killing me.

I have had this laptop for more than 4 years now and recently I have had issues with it freezing up and not responding within approximately 5-10 min of booting up. I have had to do a system restore to factory out of box state 3 times now. What could be causing this issue and how do I stop it from happening again? Please help me!!!!

I'm finding it frusrtrating and annoying since I cannot use Firefox 4.0 Beta 6. It works on other accounts excluding mine - What is this crap rigged or something? I am having trouble with Firefox not closing properly. I close a session and when I try to open firefox again it tells me firefox is already running and not responding.

Make sure that Firefox closes properly and that that there are no longer Firefox or plugin-container processes left on the Processes tab in the Task Manager. Otherwise session restore will reopen the page(s) from the previous session.

Firefox has a Bookmarks Sidebar you can open and close using Ctrl+b. That's pretty easy to hit if you're trying to bold something, but if a website doesn't intercept it, then it affects your sidebar.

Sounds like Firefox is "hanging at exit". That problem is frequently caused by an Extension or a Plugin. Read all of the following articles. 
NOTE: Establish a habit of exiting/closing Firefox with Firefox button > Exit or File > Exit to allow an orderly shutdown of Firefox and closing of all of the files that Firefox has open.

I have been using firefox for years, and never have had any trouble !!..approx 2 months ago while using facebook..my laptop screen 'freezes'..so iwas forced to Ctrl+Alt+Delete..next day when i tried to open firefox..this pop up stated that 'firefox was running in different location and not responding'..I then downloaded 'windows explorer' and a few days later..i un-installed firefox..and re-installed firefox..only to find that the problem still persisted to this day..I then used 'trojan hunter' 'windows emergency' and 'windows defender'..all saying..your system is running at 100% 'Internet explorer' now has pop up blocker when i enter facebook."Internet explorer cannot open this page"..I am now forced to use my Google Mail threads to facebook..to log in to facebook!! help help..i want my Firefox Back !!
