Whenever I restart firefox, my proxy settings are changed and my homepage too.
Basically, My friend has told me that a computer worm has been eating away at my computer, but I'm asking you if you know how I can make it so that whenever i launch Firefox again it won't reset the proxy settings to where it says: 'Firefox cannot connect to the internet, we suggest you re-configure your proxy settings.'
(That is not the exact way the message was displayed, I just it's words into mine.)
Also, whenever i fix it, I discover that my homepage was reset to this: http://www.v9.com/?type=hppp&ts=1402272131&from=amt&uid=FUJITSUXMHT2060AH_NP0DT492ATSDT492ATSDX&i=psd&t=343d1bf21
Please help me!

Since latest software update, my sound settings are changing sometimes when I turn on and cannot hear anything. All controls are useless and cannot be activated. After changing several things, I have been able to make it work, but today nothing is working. Anyone else experience this and have any ideas?

Firefox 4 proxy settings do not save after I change them.
Every time I restart Firefox the proxy settings are changed to "manual" and it has a specific HTTP proxy address and port set. A few days ago I ran AVG's PC TuneUp and it optimized Firefox and my internet connection. I thought this might be the problem but after disabling it, Firefox 4 still doesnt work unless I change the settings myself every time. Help?
Ok I fixed it.. It was my Wolfram-Alpha search engine add on
If your proxy settings are going crazy, open the Add-on manager, disable one, restart firefox, continue until you figure out which one is messing up the settings. -
I just installed Firefox 4 today. When I try to change the keyword.url settings in about:config to do a "I'm Felling Lucky" Google search, it just resets to chrome://browser-region/locale/region.properties whenever I restart Firefox.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Firefox switches proxy settings each time a new window is opened
Hello folks!
I'm having a curious problem with Firefox 18.0 since the last update.
Every time I open Firefox or a new application, the proxy settings are set to "Use system proxy settings".
Here's a screenshot of how it looks like right after I opened firefox. In the background you can see the message I now always get, "Unable to find proxy server".
I always have to change this back to "No proxy" to surf the internet. This setting is kept until I open the next window or close and re-open Firefox, than it's reset back at this again, an opening websites does not work.
I first had the idea that the ProxyFoxy-AddIn is causing that, but the problem still exists also after disabling ProxyFoxy.
I'm not sure if this is a Firefox bug or another problem. Maybe can anyone tell me where to set "system proxy settings" in Arch Linux, so that I can avoid this problem. Or do I need to contact Mozilla in this case?
Thank you!
JanI think there might be a bug in FF18. After the upgrade, I would also get the error message and couldn't open any site, though using "No proxy" worked I believe. Turns out I had something set under network.proxy.socks (and network.proxy.socks_port) (leftovers of tests done a while back) and even though they shouldn't have been used (I believe, FF17 didn't & I'm using "Use system proxy settings") they obviously were, leading to the problem.
Just resetting those 2 options fixed things for me, and I didn't have time to look into it more, but there might be a bug in there somewhere...
Maybe try checking under about:config if you have any proxy settings set (that you don't need/use) (You don't seem to have any set, but I can't recall if they were visible in the Preferences window or not for me...), and if so reset them. Or just look for any (network) options not using its default value... (Assuming, as it did for me, that running FF18 with a brand new profile works fine.) -
I can't download videos to Real Player. The settings are correct and i can download in Internet Explorer 7 with no problem but not FireFox 5...any ideas??
I'm still experiencing this problem. I went to settings, general, software and it says Install now. But when I try, I get an error message.

I have several Mac clients that run OS X (10.6-10.8) and all are configured to access the internet via the same proxy server.
Within System Preferences, each user has their proxy server login details saved - no problem there.
Periodically (and not down to user password changes), the settings are lost and the users then have to set up the login details again to get out onto the internet.
Can anyone explain why the System Preferences would lose these details?Hi Gary, kind of a long shot, but I suspect a past network connection is coming into play.
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
10.7 & 10.8…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
Fill in the Proxy again. -

I,m having major problems with buffering on my iPad & iPhone since the IOS7 update. My proxy settings are set to off.
Turning off and back on or hard reset seems to work for a day or two. After resetting I am occasionally losing messages that were there before reset. In addition, I have had 3 messages that I received a notification for when they came in but go into messages and not there. Message incon still shows 3 unread messages but when I open messages I have no unread messages??? Power on-off or hard reset does not seem to fix this. At least a reset gets imessages working again. Hope fix is out soon. This is a PIA.

Hi Everyone, been struggling all day to restore my settings on my ipod, as my little brother has put a restriction password in place and made me not able to get into Safari, iTunes, Camera which I really need. I have tried everything, resetting my proxy settings, turning off the firewall, changing my network location, ran diagnostics. Everything seems fine on that, I post below my results. I also tried restoring from the device, but with the restrictions code in place I can not do so. And everytime I am dowloading the software update before the restore it comes up with 'Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later'. I have been using google for ages and am not sure what I have missed.
I am using Windows 7 with an Acer Notebook.

I am trying to sync my Ipod Nano (6th Generation). I am trying to sync my Nike+ workouts, when I click "automatically send workouts" and "apply". It freezes. I have to restart my computer. When I also try to make sure I have the latest Itues updates, I get a message "make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active". My main question is, I want to upload my Nike+ workouts. I have an account with Nike+, and have 3 workouts waiting to be uploaded it indicates.
The following document might be worth a try with that one:

Four days ago the lock screen and keyboard sounds quit working, but was able to reset the settings. Two days ago I had to do this and turn off the device and then restart it to get the sounds back. Today they suddenly went out and I can't get them working again. The settings are correct and the device is not muted. My OS is up to date. What else can I do to get the sound back?

Did you ever verify the primary email address associated with her iCloud ID? Apple should have sent a verification email like the one below to the email address that was used to set up the iCloud account. You need to click the Verify Now link in the email to verify the address.
Make sure you are check the email address you used to set up your iCloud account. Also make sure you check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox. If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email. -
