Whenever I send a text from my iphone 5 my text messages are appearing on other apple devices in the household. ie Iphone 4 and Ipod.
How do I stop this occurring.

You'll have to deselect your phone number on the other devices in Settings/Messages/Receive at/

It sounds like you need to enable Text Message Forwarding on your iPhone for your iPad to send MMS/SMS messages through your phone.

I cannot send email - error message as follows : 'The sender address (my email address) was rejected by the server smtp.tiscali.co.uk.' I can send email from other apple devices, and the email settings are identical. Any ideas?

For some reason I cannot send email - all was working fine, but now I get the following error message when I try to send email:

I can receive incoming mail ok and I can send email from other Apple devices. The problem seems confined to my Mac Book Pro.

Hello And thank you for reading my post. I have a problem when I send a text message it always says rite after it sends nothing to undo. I dont know If this is a software problem or if its just something maybee that I hit in the settings when I got the phone . Iv had all 3 iphones so I know what im doing when it comes to hard resetting and restoring and i'v done those alreaddy but if anyone has any ideas it would be in much help as this problem gets pretty anoying .

if you shake the phone while typing it will bring up that message...you can use it to undo text. most likely after texting you ptu your phone in your pocket and it shakes...

We went through my friend's phone and my daughter's email and phone number are not in it. I have never given my daughter's iphone number to my friend. Is it something to do with gmail or my apple id? My daughter (14) has been using my computer as her "base" for HER Iphone.
My friend does use her iphone number as an email address as well.

The iMessage app on an iPhone can send SMS messages when an iMessage path is not available; on an iPad it cannot, because SMS is an adjunct to the voice telephone system, which the iPad does not use.

My text messages to iphones are not sending as imessages. Instead I have to copy and then send as text messages.

This issue is usually caused by some anti-virus programs, disable the anti-virus program you have on the PC, check if this issue will happen again.
You may also run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem viewing html emails in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue. Some security programs may have such add-ins intergrated with Outlook.

I can call out but all incoming calls are going directly to VM with no signal that I missed a call or have VM. I can send/receive text messages from other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users, I am assuming this is really "iMessage." Is it apple software?

I have spent hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T. I went thought reset, on/off, etc, etc with both companies to no avail. Each company pointed fingers at the other....as being the source of the problem.
Problems: Suddenly ALL incoming calls were going directly to VM with no signal I missed calls and/or had VM. I was also unable to receive all Text Messages...Oddly, I could send text messages to anyone (even non-apple users but I could not receive their responses)........then I when I got home I started receiving text messages from other apples users ONLY. I assume now - iMessage kicked in and I could text (send/receive) other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users ONLY. ....yes, I could still (send) text messages to my husband's blackberry (he received my messages fine) but my phone would NOT receive his text respones.
Finally, I googled the problem and found this community where other people have had the exact same problems! One person said he "turned off 3 G" which was the solution for him....so I did the same and VIOLA! My problem solved! Nevermind the fact that I pay for 3G and cannot use it....so here's my question, if 3G is the problem on my phone is this an APPLE issue or a NETWORK problem? Do I purchase a new phone and slip in my same SIM card and hope the same does not occur or do I get a whole new SIM card and phone? What is the long term resolution to this problem?
I am happy however to find that my problem is NOT an isolated incident and wish Apple or AT&T had told me this is not so uncommon because I thought (based on the baffled response from Apple) that this has never occurred before. Where is Steve Jobs when we need him?

On both devices when you go to settings>messages>send and recieve how are poeple contacting you on each device?. e.g. email or mobile number.

You are only as young as you feel......
This is an example of how you can select the exact content that you want to sync to your device. You do not have to sync the entire iTunes library. You can pick and choose the music, apps, books and so on that you want to sync. This is using music as an example.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on only the albums or playlists that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
You can do this with apps, books, movies .... Whatever .... You have the freedom to sync whatever you want.

I think you answered your own question. As your friends phones are not iPhones, but maybe Nokia or Android the smiley will appear as a different character or box. Thew only way to fix this would be to send a basic smile using the basic keyboard so that your friends will receive it as a smile and you will when they reply. Or ask your friends to check if the phones they are using have the emoji type keyboard available and ask them to update their phones. This will show the smiley when they reply to you.
