Have your wife log in to her user account on the laptop. Launch iTunes, then connect her phone to the computer with the USB cable. Sync. That should put back all apps and media. Since you already upgraded her to iOS 5 she'll have to manually enter all her settings and preferences, and organize her home screens.

Reboot as usual (not in safe mode) if you haven't already done so. Launch the Terminal application, copy or drag -- do not type -- the line of text below into the window, and press return:

I have a new iPod Touch but some of the albums aren't grouping correctly and are just listing the songs individually, how can I fix this?

I got an iPod touch as a Christmas gift to replace an old broken iPod Nano, and it's worked fine apart from this thing with the Albums. Certain Albums (Albums made up of individual songs by different artists) aren't properly grouping into a single Album, but instead turns each individual song into it's own Album unless the songs are by the same artist, this is really weird since the old Nano never had this issue. I'm not sure what causes this or how to fix it, I thought maybe turning off "Group by Album Artist" in settings would do the trick but that doesn't seem to have done anything. Basically I just want to get these songs properly grouped into a Single Album instead of as individual albums for each song and was curious if anyone knew how to do this.
I do apologize if this is confusing, I'm not really sure how to describe the problem.

To assure that your first backup is over Ethernet I'd turn off AirPort until it's done. Check the order in the Network panel of System Preferences. I'd move the Ethernet connection item to the top of the list.

I have read mozillas help question and have not been able to fix my problem, I am having the same problem with the trash folder.

If you want to keep those messages but reduce the file size:
Archive your Sent folder.
How to set up Archive options - if not already set.

Archive by month and year and choose to 'keep exisitng folder structure of archived messages'
Then select the 'Sent' folder to see emails.
click on first email to get focus.
Press 'Ctrl' key and 'A' key to select all emails.
They will be shown as 'conversations in the Message Pane'.
click on the 'Archive' button.
This should empty the Sent folder and place all sent emails in 'Archives' under the respective year, month and Sent folder.

TS1424 some albums when downloaded only play partial parts of songs then skips to the next song how do i fix this?

i downloaded Korn the path of totality and the first 4 songs work the next 4-5 just plays 10-12 seconds of the song then skips to the next the last 4 songs seems to work. Also i downloaded Tyga- carless world and each song shows up twice on my iphone and it only plays a couple of the songs, it wont play some and skips to others ones it seems random, but it plays fine on my itunes on my computer.

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

You won't lose your music - it isn't kept in iTunes, it's usually kept in (user)/Music/iTunes and you could back that up to be double secure.
Go to (user)/Preferences and delete every file which begins with com.apple.iTunes and com.apple.mobile.iTunes
Then open the ByHost folder in Preferences and again delete every file which begins with com.apple.iTunes
Then reboot. Doing this will not delete any of your music but obviously you will have to set up your Preferences from scratch. Don't open iTunes.
Then go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and download iTunes and reinstall.

That's what syncing does. It keeps the information on multiple devices "in sync" with each other. It is working as designed.
What are you syncing your iPhones with? iTunes, iCloud, Google Sync, Exchange?
If you don't want one phone to sync with the other, you'll have to turn off syncing on that phone, or change what it syncs with.
