Whenever I try to send a video iChat I get a communication error
New iMac with air port, iChat worked for first week. One day both iChat and Safari got communication errors. Contacted internet provider was able to reconfigure the system so that I could access the internet but have not been able to establish a video iChat session. Help

OK,
Rebooting the router or even using the Refresh DHCP lease would have done th same thing.
In System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming is it set to 1.5Mbps ?
If you have to change restart iChat (it should be at 1.5Mbps)
In iChat > Preferences > Video section > Bandwidth Limit drop down set it to NONE unless on Comcast, Road Runner or VeriZon FiOS in which case set it to 500.
This does not need a restart.
How are the ports iChat needs open in your Routing device ?
What is the routing device ?

Whenever I try to open iTunes or QuickTime I get an "Application Error"...
Here's the deal this is the message I get immediately after clicking on iTunes to open:

iTunes was working fine until today and started giving me issues so I went through and uninstalled, used the Windows Install Cleaner, restarted the comp and redownloaded/installed iTunes 7.5 and still the same thing. I have deleted and recreated "My Card" several times, but iCal is still not recognizing the card. The application was working fine until a few weeks ago. I recently purchased Microsoft Office for Mac but have not installed any other new software. Also checked to make sure my mac software is updated. Help!!!

Have you also used Address Book>Card>Make This My Card?
If you have, you could also quit iCal, find the com.apple.ical.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences folder and drag it to the Desktop. Then log out/in or restart and check if your card is recognized. -
G5 crashes when I try to send files via iCHAT
No idea whats causing it but when I try to send files via ichat it gets about 10mb in and then the machine crashes....

I can not find anything on the AIM site that suggests there is a Limit on file sizes.
The largest one I have tried myself was 9.2Mb
The closest thing I could find to the point in question was the last question on this page.
If the file is not stuffed so far you could try that to make it smaller.
I have AIM 4.7 for Mac and can not see any info in the Help there about any limit to the size of File Transfers.

I have the error 7456 when i try to send a video from my i phone to my appel tv? Any clue what the problem might be?
I can't believe it!! But this answers my question. I pair up quickly between my iphone5 and iMac, but cannot transfer pics from my iphone to the iMac over Bluetooth as I expeceted I would easily be able to do. After all, I did this with my old Mac and a simple Motorola cell phone years ago.
So, the answer is that file transfer from iphone5 is not supported. Really!!
Not sure why capabilites have regressed, this is disappointing, but thanks for the answer, at least I know to stop beating my head against the wall searching for some hidden box to check. This seemed like such an obvious capability between Apple devices I couldn't understand why I was having such difficulty. It seemed like it would be seamless, but it can't be done. Baffling. -

I think that VLC Media Player will play avi files.

Are you still using 10.6.7, if not then please update your profile to let us know the verison of OS X installed.
You probably have a Safari plugin installed that may need to be updated or if you are running a later version of OS X than SL then you could be affected by Gatekeeper. -
Whenever I try to view a video on youtube, I get "An error occurred. Please try again later."
I am using the latest version of Firefox (4.0.1) and Shockwave Flash plugin (10.3.181.14) on a Windows Vista machine. Whenever I try to view a video on youtube, I get "An error occurred. Please try again later." If I restart in safe mode, everything works fine. I figure that the problem stems from a extension incompatibility, but cannot figure out which one. I haven't installed a new plugin recently.
Do you have an example of such a video?
If you went to m.youtube.com did you switch to "Desktop" mode at some point? If so, switch back to "Mobile version" (at bottom of page). -
Whenever i try and send an imessage to someone that has an iphone it gets stuck at times and won't go through. I then have to send it as a basic text and then it will respond message failed to send what should i do when it does this i need help
The use of iMessage depends on both the sender and the receiver having an active data connection. If either of the two connections are interrupted, the message can fail. The sending of an iMessage differs from the sending of an SMS, and if you are having SMS failures, that would be a carrier concern.

I tried clicking on the Adobe Flash Player. It said it accepted it but it did not make a difference.

whenever i try to back up my iphone it gives me an error message "itunes could not back up (my)iphone because backup was corrupted or not compatible with your iphone" i already deleted the itunes backups through the prefrences tab. this has not helped. what am i doing wrong?

Under "settings / general / network" is your "Cellular Data" button set to "ON"?
