Whenever I try to sync my iPod a message pops up saying that it failed to sync as the session didn't start. Please help as I now have no music on my iPod.
(i've already backed it up twice and turned it on and off several times)

Are you sending from your iCloud Mail address? And do you have two-step verification enabled?
If you had two-step verification enabled, you have to set up an app-specific password for iPhoto, if you want to use iPhoto as a Mail client.

This solution is for those of you using 2-step verification for your Apple ID and are using iCloud as the mail server that you are trying to mail photos with.
I too had this issue. The problem in my case occurred because I had setup 2-step authentication for my Apple ID. If you have done this then you will get the error message "the mail server did not recognize your email/password...". To solve the problem go to:

Click "Manage Your Apple ID"
Verify your identity with the device you selected (if this step does not show up then you have not likely set up 2-step authentication and this is not your solution)
Click Password and Security in the left column
Click Generate an app-specific password
Enter iPhoto as the name of the app
Copy the password and paste this into the password box in iPhoto where you would normally enter your apple ID (in the mail account section in iPhoto preferences).

I called Apple Support and they walked me through it. They told me to basically copy and paste my music to the external hard drive. (I think.) Or maybe it was they had me transfer a folder to the EHD. I don't exactally remember it was a few years back. But I tried to plug in the EHD before starting and...nothing. Still says same thing, "locate file."

Whenever I try to download any application, a motification pops up saying, "Could not download Minecraft: Pocket Edition lite and 6 others". The application that I am attempting to download does then pop up and start installing but beside it the Minecraft lite app appears and then fails to download. It's not a real issue, it doesn't stop me from doing anything but it's rather annoying. If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated
I'm having the exact same problem! It's rather annoying, I know. I haven't completely solved it yet, but a temporary solution is going to App Store > Purchases, find Minecraft - Pocket Edition lite, swipe it from left to right and tap hide. The problem should now be fixed. You can always unhide it using View Account and bring up the list of hidden purchases.
I think the problem was caused by a temporary 'black out' of Minecraft (both lite and full), which made the app unavailable in the App Store for a short time and gave people who wanted to update the app the same message as you're getting right now.

My iPad and iPhone have the same syncing calendar but my Windows 7 PC with iCloud does not sync/show the same calendar...please help!
iCloud will not sycn a calendar from an external source. In order to use iCloud to sync it, you would have to move it to iCloud and stop using Google. I know how to do that on a Mac, but I'm not sure how to do it on a PC. If you're using Outlook, I suspect you export it as an .ics file to your desktop, then import it to the iCloud account in Outlook. I'm sure you could use Google to find the specific steps.
However, there's really no reason not to just use Google to sync your calendar across your devices. Instead, just continue to use Goole calendar on all your devices and they should stay in sync. Take a look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0Jj0KFgbYI. -
Hello there,
I need to know why the icon of an exclamation mark in a triangle pops up whenever I try to enlarge any photos on IPhoto 11. The thumbnails are all there but I cannot blow them up to full (or even half) size. It is driving me crazy so I woud apprecaite any help I can get.
I'll admit to being a complete luddite when it comes to computers (Mac or otherwise) so I'll thank any of you that help in advance for your patience!

AdrianThat means the file path or link to the original file has been broken. Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I have fully up-to-date everything on my iPhone and computer and iTunes. I have an iPhone5 and MacBook Pro. I synced my iPhone this morning and it has 12 or so gigs of free space (even with my music and some photos on it). Then I deleted some voice memos in iTunes, and wanted to sync again to reclaim the space. When I tried, it said I had 29G of "other" data and that my phone was way over capacity and can't sync. I tried a few online solutions to force it to recalculate, but now it says it is about 90% "other"!! Only 8G of 64G free, and "other" is the ONLY thing in the summary bar.
I un-checked music for syncing, thinking that must be the problem. It did not help. Now there is nothing on my phone except "other", according to iTunes (not even photos).
I cannot restore from backup now, since the backup includes the giant "other". I don't want to delete my info on my phone knowing a corrupted backup is my only alternative.
Help!Thanks so much Meg. Unfortunately, iTunes is the program I use to perform syncing. I don't really have other outside options. It is also the location of the backup I would use to restore my phone, and my only way to reclaim important data. I am concerned that, since the last backup occurred when the "other" bar was only moderately huge (around 29G I think), that a backup would replicate the problem back onto my phone.
My contacts, etc. are all in address book and the calendar app on my Mac. As far as I know, iTunes is the way to get them back, but iTunes is where the problem is.
Any thoughts on this? -
I am using brand new blank CD's. The CD information is: CD-RW, 700 MB, 1X-4X, 80 MIN and they are made by the company "maxell" if that helps. There is also not even a "Burn CD" button on my iTunes, I have to right click it. I also have a PC and the latest version of iTunes. Thanks for the help

Phone cannot be synced. "The required file is locked" - Please help!
Since I downloaded the new version if iTunes, my phone will not sync properly. I've narrowed it down to a issue specifically with syncing photos.
I've restarted the phone, restarted the computer, checked for additional upgrades. I have a PC, not a Mac, so no iPhotos. iTunes worked great before, with no syncing issues.
Now, when I try to sync -- it syncs everything but pictures. The error message says "The iPhone cannot be synced. The required file is locked". I've tried different picture folders, I've tried removing "read only" protection on the photos, I've tried renaming the photo files so there are no spaces or other symbols like underscores. I've tried removing all pictures from the phone, but now, no pictures will sync, even the very same picture folders that were previously on the phone.
I've searched topics, and so far, haven't found anything similar. Can someone please help me? or advise what else I can do? or who I can contact???

TabithaAs a side note -- it appears that it may be an issue because my music and photo files are all saved on an external hard drive.
I copied a photo file and put it on my desktop - and the photos synced.
However -- the music files were on the external hard drive and those synced fine with no errors. Pictures on the external hard drive, did not.
Prior to the iTunes upgrade, everything synced fine from my external hard drive.

Since the latest update, my Droid2 will not pair to my Ford SYNC. The phone will not find SYNC for me to place in the PIN. It use to work wonderful before the latest update.

Thank you for sharing your concern as I am more than happy to assist you! Are you able to successfully pair your Droid 2 with another bluetooth device, like an earpiece or a computer? This will help us determine if there is an issue with the bluetooth technology after the software update or is it a compatibility issue. Also, what year and model vehicle do you have? In order to successfully pair with the vehicle, the Droid 2 must be in discovery mode. Below is a link to walk thru placing the Droid 2 into discovery mode.

I plugged up my iPod touch to my iTunes library and it said that it couldnt recognize the iPod and the message told me to restore my iPod? Why would it prompt me to restore the factory settings? Also if I restore the iPod will it erase all of my music even though my music is in my library?

I also put all of my apps in the utility folders, would this have anything to do with my iPod needing to be restored?Becasue something got corrupted on the iPod. It happens sometimes. Just restore the iPod to factory settings/new iPod and then try restoring from your backup.
