Whenever using "wake on nib" my buttons and menus become non-responsive.

I have a small app containing three applescripts. One of the scripts uses "wake on nib" and the other uses "wake on open". When these lines of code are active the program works except the "cancel" button "widgets" and the menu become unresponsive within the application. If I comment "--" out the "wake on nib" and "wake on open" the buttons, widgets, and menu work, but then the application does not of course. I have tried to build this application in the account that is going to use it (thinking it's a permissions thing) and that did not fix it either...... however, if I use the application in "root" in works (minus the fact that the script is using "whoami" and "root" is not correct but the buttons, widgets, menus work in root).
Any clue how to fix this please?

Richard, the link you provided is correct, but it involves a two step process that first gives only a few templates, then requires another download that gives all the library.
I think most users who ask the question just want the second step, which is all that is presented here:

When I first started recommended that option, I expected users to ask for the "other" templates, but in Encore, that includes "styles" (that do not appear to be used much) and flash export templates (that are also not used much). So I go straight for the full library that I know the users wants.
The other oddity is for a user upgrading from CS5.5 (EN 5.1), and keeping 5.1 installed, the installer (your link) involves the bizarre step of DELETING the 5.1 library.
For Premiere CC users looking to get PR templates/styles, they must use your link.

For example, the buttons about upload images, videos and music are too close together and they don't work.
In the right and left menues icons appear partially and out of place, sometimes one over the other.
It works in IE.

I'm just going to repeat the relevant sections from my previous post with the screenshots this time:
Below you'll see a snip of how my current folder structure appears. It's identical to yours, except there are no button files in the General Folder. Since you were kind enough to include a file name, I did a search on that specific one and it's nowhere to be found on my hard drive. Hmmm....
I've seen others remark on how... "challenging".... Adobe's instructions can be sometime. I'll admit to having the same feeling when I was trying to download and install all the content files and the 7-zip stuff. Is the answer somehow that I screwed up that? Note the 7-zip folder right above the Adobe folder. Here's a screen shot of that expanded folder contents:
Does that look like you think it should? Have I not installed or extracted something correctly?
Finally, the only other thing I can think of to give you as much info as you might need is to include a screenshot of where the "Functional Content" stuff got saved. Adobe's instructions about this (if I recall correctly) were that it did NOT have to be installed anywhere specific, but you then had to go into Encore (& Premiere) and through preferences point to this stuff, which I believe I did. But I don't see any button type files in these anyway.

My Ipad 2 no longer displays anything.It may come on for a few seconds,but then half of the screen goes completely black, and the system becomes non responsive to all bottons. At other times all four sides of the display becomes black, about 1/4 inch.

Can anyone help me on this one? I got my IPAD 2 in June 2011. It never gave problems until a few days ago. It began to "hang", becoming non-responsive to all buttons. Then just yesterday morning, it went totally black. The display no longer displays. The Battery was charged 96%. I tried the power adapter, but had the same result. I tried the resetting, holding the two buttons for 10 seconds or more but no result. I have already restored it to the factory setting,(via my PC) and put back my apps etc. But after all this I still cannot see anything on the screen.
I know it is still working, because from time to timer I hear the message alerts, and other sounds.
Waht is the likely solution?

Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

Sat A500 - keypad/mousepad freeze - cursor and typing spaces non-responsive

Issue with my new notebook, several times the cursor has become non-responsive to the mousepad, and whatever is on the screen fails to recognise me typing on the keyboard. This seems to happen whilst I am using the mousepad.
I've hit the mousepad on/off thinking this may have been bumped, but it doesn't affect the failure to respond.
Could I be performing some function I'm not aware of? Any other ideas?

It is not easy to understand what is wrong there and such issues can be checked testing all this.
With original preinstalled OS touchpad should work except it is disabled with small button or with FN+F9 key combination.
This with typing is also a little bit mysterious for me. If you use several windows (several different applications) be sure you try to type when the window is active.
Please don't understand me wrong but best thing you can do is to ask somewhere for help. Best address is Toshiba service. They can put the notebook on the desk and check what happen exactly.
Here on this virtual world I can just say: if you want to test it on proper way reinstall OS using HDD recovery image (factory state) and test functionality again. By default everything should works well. If not there must be some hardware failure.

How can I use an image as a button and make it invisible unless selected?

I have been trying to use this button I created in Photoshop in Encore but I cannot get it to work the way it should. First I import the image and drag it onto my menu. Then I select "Object" then "Covert to button". That creates a button but I want it to be invisible unless I select it. Creating a button this way only overlays colors on top of the image when selected vs not selected.
What I need is to have the image been a subpicture highlight. I tried to use Photoshop to create a layer under my buttons and use the image there, typing (=2) as the layer name. I think this is supposed to show the button in its selected state?
But that doesn't work. The image is invisible when I open the menu in Encore, not matter what I select for button highlights.
Could you please explain how to create an invisible button but use an image as its selected state and possibly another for its activated state?

Having more than four tabs open causes Firefox to become non-responsive, lagging for sometimes up to 5 minutes and can't close it without task manager.

If I try to open a fifth tab, or try to pin a tab Firefox mutes, or whites out and the mouse freezes. When this happens the title bar states that it is, "unresponsive." I either have to wait until it starts moving again to restart it because I have no close button, and this takes up to 5 minutes and sometimes even more, or I have to crash it using the task manager (ctrl + alt + del) when it takes longer. Also, any time I try to pin a tab it does the same thing with a single pinned tab. If I try to open firefox after a crash, it immediately becomes unresponsive for an even longer time.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

New Printer - Install - OK Button for Language Selection Non-Responsive

I just unboxed my work printer at home and was attempting to set it up. The drivers installed properly on to my computer. However, the last portion for me to complete set up is to set up the language which then will I believe ask for time zone, etc. The problem I'm having is when it asks for language the OK button is non responsive. I tried clicking on anything on the keypad and stil nothing. I reset the computer and printer. Unplugged the printer and started it back up... still nothing. Anyone have any idea why this is happening or am I doing something wrong or not doing something that should be done? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Respectfully, Robin

Using MoviePlayer sample with two buttons and two movies

I am using the MoviePlayer template and would like to have two buttons on the screen and play two different movies. I can't seem to figure it out as to how I would do this. I have created the two buttons in interface builder but can't figure out the routine in the myViewController.m page to code it. I am thinking I need to create a variable for the movie path that fits into the -(IBAction)playMovie1:(id)sender and (IBAction)playMovie2:(id)sender sections. Please HELP if you have suggestions. I am stumped and can't find anything on this!

Are you trying to acquire from one camera at a time or switch between the two cameras in the same acquisition?
If you simply want to use channel 1 instead of the default channel zero, then just add a constant to the IMAQ Configure Buffer VI in the LL Triggered Snap example to specify channel 1.
If you want to alternate between the two cameras, then you could start with the LL Ring Scan Channels example. Add a Configure Trigger VI between the Configure Buffer loop and the Start and specify "Trigger Each Buffer". By default the example will set up an acquisition on all 4 channels, however you can change this to use only 2.
The board does not support using different triggers for different channels.

[SOLVED]buttons and menus tearing (gnome3)

this is my 1-st post so it might not be in the right place or the right format (i apologize in advance)
some of the menus and buttons are tearing in my gnome-shell, also some web elements change color (firefox)
the tearing seems random to me (not only at mouse hover or activation)
movies work fine

do you reproduce the issue with xf86-video-intel 2.99.909-2? This is a know problem with 2.99.908 and 909-1 but should be fixed in 909-2

Firefox becomes non-responsive when I use hotmail, and stops working. Why?

Whenever I sign into my hotmail account, Firefox stops working. The entire window dulls and I cannot do anything. This only happens with Hotmail.

I've started having the same problem quite frequently. The iTunes store is quite often extremely slow, and when it's like that, using the search box renders iTunes useless. Then I have to end-task from the task manager. I just went through that process three times in a row and finally the forth time I was able to search.

I need to deny the use of usb devices on MACs and Macboks for non admin users. Can this be done?

I am new to MACs and have been tasked with providing new users with Macs and MacBooks. I have been told that the CIO does not want the users to be able to transfer data from the machines to any devices via the usb port, but to allow the support staff the use of the same usb ports.
I thought of just changing permissions and allow only the administrators access, but am not sure if this would work.
Help!! lol... I need to do this "YESTERDAY" as my CIO would put it.

VoiceOver Causes this blue ring thing around Buttons and menus

I accidentally turned on VoiceOver today, and right after disabling it, I realized that it's been causing menus and buttons to have blue rings around them. I know it doesn't seem that big, but it's annoying to me, so if someone knows how to turn them off, that would be über-nice

Actually, I think you are ok. VO puts a black outlune or box around objects I think what you are seeing is a normal function of the OS which is controlled by the Tab key. You can chose "all controls" or" text boxes or and lists only" by pressing the control-F7 key combination. Or by choosing System Preferences >> Keyboard & Mouse >> Keyboard shortcuts and see "Full keyboard access", at the bottom of the window. I don't think you can disable that, just choose one or the other.
