Where adapters reside ??

Hi,
After going throuh XI architecture picture I have got one very basic doubt like whether all adapters (except idoc and http) will reside in adapter engine or they reside externally to adapter engine ?? Still now what I was thinking all adapters (except idoc and http) are part of adapter engine. But like to confirm whether I was mistaken or right ??
Idoc and http adapters reside on abap stack. What is the meaning of abap stack ?? Is it like that IE is build on abap architecture and as idoc and http adapters reside in IE they will be called as reside on abap stack ??
thanks
kumar

HI,
The Adapter Engine provides adapters, which you use to do the following, depending on their configuration:
- Communicate with SAP systems using the RFC interface (RFC adapter)
- Enable data exchange with the SAP Business Connector (SAP Business Connector adapter)
-  Exchange data with external systems using a file interface or an FTP server (file/FTP adapter)
- Access databases using JDBC (JDBC adapter)
- Communicate with messaging systems using the JMS API (JMS adapter)
- Integrate remote clients or Web Service providers using the SOAP adapter (SOAP adapter)
- Connect marketplaces to the Integration Engine (Marketplace Adapter)
- Connect e-mail servers to the Integration Engine (Mail adapter)
- Communicate with systems that support the RosettaNet standard (RNIF adapter)
- The CIDX adapter supports Chem eStandards, an open standard for business-to-business data exchange in the chemical industry

How does the communication will happened between SOA-Composer(where DVM file resides) and EM console (Where composite resides)?
And also i would like to how A business rule(Which will be resides in SOA_COMPOSER) will be communicated to Soa Composite(Resides in EM Console)?

whenever you deploy a new composite it gets stored in the MDS data
store, i.e. the metadata service and not the dehydration store (the
    SOAINFRA database).
Composer works directly with the MDS schema.
EM reads the same schema (MDS) to see what composite are deployed on the
    partitions.
All runtime instance data is stored in the SOAINFRA database.

  • Shared Library vs. Mounting network computer where music resides

My music all resides on a networked desktop in an office in my house. I always use the "Shared Library" feature to choose & play music from a laptop in my living room (to my main stereo with AirTunes). But there are some downsides. You can't create a playlist. You don't have access to all info, lyrics (where I store notes), for example. Artwork doesn't show in the lower left graphic box.
Last night I mounted the other computer drive to my laptop and and chose that Library at startup. I had much more hands on access to the music. But after rewaking sleep, the Finder froze as it tried to reconnect.
Does anyone have thoughts about the better of two methods to control all the music from a networked computer?

See my post Make a split library portable for some background info.
Uness you have good reasons for doing otherwise the "libary" folder should be called iTunes and unless it is in the User's Music folder it might as well be at the root of the drive. The "media" folder should be called iTunes Media and should be inside iTunes. This layout keeps everything self-contained and portable, easy to move, easy to back up.
Only one instance of iTunes can open the main database file iTunes Library.itl at any one time. Other copies of iTunes share access to the library using the Shared Library or Home Sharing features. Alternatively you can put parallel .itl files in the library folder, but if you do that you need to make sure none of the libraries try to "Keep organized" or an edit in one library can break things for another. Each user needs to be disciplined about deleteing content too.

  • Search results don't show where item resides

I use "search" at the top of an open drive menu - instead of Spotlight - because I need to see where the found item resides.
However, with 10.8, I can't see that.  Please see screenshots for further explanation.
Pic 1:  When I search, I see the folder "bruno mars", but notice there is no blue bar at the bottom showing the path or where the folder resides.
Pic 2:  When I click on an idividual file, it *does* show the blue bar at the bottom, and the path.
I tried re-indexing Spotlight but that didn't work.
    Any thoughts?

  • Inserting Title variable that refers to topic other than where variable resides

Still using RH9, but I think RH10 is going into our upcoming budget. I understand the Title variable in the Fields and Variables dialog refers to the title of the topic in which you are placing the variable. However, I would like to use a topic title reference in another topic, because it is likely the title will change and I only want to change it in one place and have it reflected automatically.
Here are two inadequate solutions I would reject:
Dragging the topic name from the Project Manager and then changing the title of the referred topic: it does not change the reference text.
Making a user defined variable: seems counterproductive because I will still be making one change too many.
Example: I have a topic called VIP PO Approval that is referring to the VIP PO Upload/Entry topic. I am putting hyperlinks from the Approval topic to the Upload/Entry topic, but the text of the links should come from the "Upload/Entry" Topic Title field. If the powers that be change the spelling of Upload/Entry (perhaps include spaces around the slash), I only want to change it in the properties of that topic or rename it in Project Manager (the point is, in one place only).
Does anyone know how to do this in RH9? Is there an enhancement in RH10?
    Thank you.

I would add to Peter's response by saying this: When you drag and drop to create a link, what the link actually reads is dependent upon how you created the link. For example, if you select the text used to constitute the link, THEN drag to the selected text, the selected text is used instead of the Topic title. And sure, if you just drag the topic to an empty spot on the page, the Topic Title is used.
Sure, it seems like an extra step is involved, but with RoboHelp 10, I defined a variable and used the variable as my topic title. I then dragged the variable to the selected text to create the variable. Then I dragged the desired topic to the variable to create the link. All seemed to work just fine with the link text updating when the variable was changed
I think  any way you slice it you are going to have at least one extra step. But then again, anything that gives you more functionality tends to require an extra hoop or two, no? And on the up side, while an extra step is inovolved initially, you actually SAVE steps down the road. So overall, I'd say you are still in the benefit zone.
    Cheers... Rick

  • HT3939 If I purchase an iPhone in Canada will the warranty still be valid in Australia, where I reside?

If I purchase an iPhone 5s in Canada will the warranty still be valid in Australia. The price difference is astounding - almost $200 different so it is a great saving even with GST cashback and currency differences. Are there other issues to be aware of - for example a CDMA vs GSM phones? Is this applicable to the 5s?
    Thanks

no - the warranty is only valid in the country in which the Iphone was purchased - if you need a repair you would have to ship the phone to someone in Canada who would ship it to Apple- Apple would ship it back to the person in Canada who could then send it to you
the 5s is a world phone which supports both GSM and CDMA - but there may be issue of bands supported or being locked to a particular carrier - i dont know if Apple sells locked phone in Canada or locked and unlocked phones in Australia - the Apple web site should list what models are sold where

  • Where do desktop pictures reside?

I have gone to Users Pictures in the main Library as well as Picture folders that reside elsewhere but have yet to be able to locate the "Apple" folder that shows up in System Prefs./Desktop and ScreenSaver/Desktop that holds a multitude of pictures that I would like to access. Are these photos in ROM or somewhere unaccessible? If not, does anyone know where they reside? Thank you.

IIRC, you can't put anything there. You have to create your own folder or use your Pictures folder, click on the plus sign in that prefPane, select either, and use it. The Desktop Pictures folder is reserved for the OS.

  • Where do photos reside

OK so I am having a problem.  I got my new 5 and hooked it up to computer and did a restore to gather all my stuff onto phone.  All gathered and came accross fine. Long story short I had some issues with battery drain/wifi etc so off to Apple Store where they told me I needed to erase phone and reinstall as a new phone rather than restore. They told me I could sync my photos from home later - well I don't seem to be able to locate where they reside on computer.  I did not delete anything and still should have backup from 9/20 before all my issues started

Did you ever import the phots/videos to your computer?
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Then they will be where you imported them to.

  • Adapters vs. Proxies "Speed"

I am learning adapters now. We can use proxies for sap systems higher or equal to WebAS 6.20 (correct me if i am wrong) and adapters for lower versions. So i am wondering if we should always use proxies (because its faster) for versions higher or equal to 6.20. What are the advantages of using proxies instead of adapters and what are the disadvantages.
    Thank you in advance.
    Will reward all helpfull answers.

    Hi
Adapters are part of the Adapter Framework. Adapters provide the technical connectivity to enable the integration of SAP and non-SAP applications through XIu2019s Integration Engine.Again, Adapters are used for connectivity from and to external systems with XI that cannot communicate via proxies.Adapters are only required in SAP systems older than 6.20 and external systems.
Systems based on 6.20or higher can communicate directly with proxies.
    PROXIES
Proxies are adapterless communication. To use proxy communication, you should have systems with Web AS>=6.20. Proxies are class implementation of your message interfaces.
There are two types in ABAP Proxy.
    1.Client and Server Proxy.
The data going out from R/3 is called Client proxy( Outbound Proxy) and the data coming inside to SAP R/3 is called Server Proxy ( Inbound Proxy).
The literal definition of a proxy is an object / process authorized to act for another; an agent or a substitute. In simpler terms, proxies in the XI context are objects used to encapsulate the creation (from a sender system) or parsing of XML (at a receiver system) as well as the communication with the relevant runtime components required to send or receive those messages.
Proxies are generated from Message Interface in IR.
The Proxy Runtime controls these objects / processes, and can itself be controlled by the applications it communicates with. The Proxy Runtime currently has the following components available: 1. ABAP Proxy Runtime u2013 Communication using XI or Web Services a. Web Service Runtime 2. Java Proxy Runtime u2013 Communication using XI (J2EE) The objects that the Proxy Runtime then controls are created via Proxy Generation, for both ABAP and Java. In the following sections a u2018clientu2019 proxy is used by an application to send messages outside of the system it resides in (normally to the IS in this context). Conversely, a u2018serveru2019 proxy is used by an application to receive messages from sources outside itself (again, normally the IS in this context)
.Adapters are used when existing applications in various heterogeneous systems (typically legacy systems) need to be integrated using XI. In such case, the development has already been done in these systems, and hence using various adapters, the integration objects in XI are developed. This is called inside-out approach
In case of adapters, the XI developer needs to know the technical details of the system which is to be connected to XI.
But in case of proxies, the developer directly uses the proxies in his applications, without worrying about the underlying technicalities for connecting to XI. So proxies hide technical implementation details from developers who use proxies
Actually the main difference between Proxy and Adapter is:
    1. Proxies can only be used to SAP WAS 6.2 or more whereas adapters can be used for any SAP or non-SAP systems, proxies are created on the application system itself.
2.There are two types of proxies.Server and Client proxy.
Server Proxy is located in the destination and client proxy is located in the source.
3.Where as Adapter is located in the middleware i.e in XI box.
Adapters are all ready present in XI like File,IDOC,HTTP,JDBC etc.Proxies are designed by the user depending upon the scenario.
    4.proxies are duplicates of adapters.
5.Proxies communicate with the XI server by means of native SOAP calls over HTTP
    Just go through these links.
/community [original link is broken]://Re: Difference between Adapter an Proxy-Objects [original link is broken]:///community [original link is broken]://What is difference between Adapter and Proxy
    Advantages of using proxy
    1) If you have a huge idoc that has to be transferred to ECC, then ideal would be to use a proxy
2)With proxy we get a lot of control on defining the interface, better performance
    3) RFC adapter sounds easy , looks easy but comes with a heavy cost compared to proxy.
The disadvantage of proxy is that it involves lot of custom coding.

  • ITunes 11 on a PC - where is Genius and how to use it in this version?

I'm on a PC and using iTunes 11, and cannot find the bottom right hand show/hide genius toggle. There is no checkbox on PC for "enable genius" in preferences (as some on the Mac forums point out.) I'm trying to get Genius suggestions based on my songs.to discover and purchase. Apple what have you done??!? Any help appreciated.

    hi dominic.
thanks for the help and the links.
there is something terribly lacking in mac UI with respect to this unless i am missing something. if i do a search in Spotlight i see results and even when i see the file i want to know something about i have to OPEN FINDER which shows a ton of results (including hundreds if not thousands of eml file that i have to call mac and probably pay to find out why they are still showing up when prefs in Spotlight say to not show them...)  and only then can i actively select the file and have it show a file path at the bottom of the finder window.
this is maddening. isn't there an option to show this information in Spotlight or to show this information WHEN THE FILE IS OPEN (apologies for the caps). i mean, if i have a file open, maybe i don't know /where/ it came from for some reason.
for instance, if i am in a hurry and i open the file directly from Spotlight i can edit it and save it but i still have no idea where it resides on my hard drive. similarly if i open a file directly from spotlight and DUPLICATE a file and i want to save it as Version 2 - i have to - - - - well i guess i have to run another search for the file i just opened and am working upon in order to just save the dang file to the same location the original is in?
i mean, the links are showing that i should open Get Info but i think i need to see the file in finder to run this command anyway since i have to right click on the file itself.
maybe i am missing something but can't MAC OS just show me the FILE PATH at the top of the document like it does in Finder and also show me the FILE PATH in Spotlight? seems like the current implementation is like a big game of hopscotch for no good reason except the information is not shown to the (power) user.
maybe i am missing a new feature in ML or in Mavericks or maybe i am using the wrong terms in the original title?
    THANK YOU

  • So where are the real photos that are used between iPhoto and iMovie?

    OK....this is getting ridiculous...
So where the heck does iMovie and iPhoto really store and pull the images from cause this makes no sense...
I will try and make this is a shorten version of a long story...Here is what I am dealing with...
G5 with iLife 06 and all updates...
Powerbook Pro with iLife 06 and all updates...
Spent five days editing project on my Macbook Pro --> emptied trash and bye bye project...Started over on my G5 since none of my clips are editable now (Thanks Apple! I needed that)
I had previously spent a week editing over 200 photos in Photoshop on my Macbook...This included color correction and dust and scratches as well as some retouching...So I transferred all Photos onto my G5 from my Macbook Pro and imported into Library...New discovery...Photos look like crap now...Like they were never cleaned up at all...Interesting...
So I start redoing some of these retouches and save them...Of course the changes are not reflected in iPhoto or iMovie since it doesn't really use the originals again after the initial import...Or does it?
So now here is another baffling thing to me...I do red eye correction to some photos and it is an immeditate change that can be seen in iMovie when importing...But if I rotate the pictures, no...sorry that only seems to take effect after I rotate the original in Photoshop and then reimport into my iPhoto library and delete the duplicates that have now gotten created in the process...
Can someone help me understand what is going on...This added work is giving me a headache...Where and how does iPhoto store and use the images? Why if i rotate a photo it doesn't take effect in iPhoto/iMovie unless I completely reimport, but I can remove red eye instantly...And what has happened to all the changes I made to the existing photos to remove the dust and scratches originally?

All images must be in a project. You can place then in as many albums as you wish- even albums outside the project where they reside- but they will remain in the project.
Move the images to the album. Then drag them over the project where the album resides and they will be moved to that projects. If you drag them to an album and not the project, they will remain in the original project.
Kinda hard to wrap your head around at first, but you'll see that it makes perfect sense as you progress with the application.
