Where and how do you launch the "Reminders" app?

Since updating to the new OS, for the life of me I cannot find how to launch "Reminders" like the other apps. The only way is to go into the Search function and type in "Reminders" to which it then shows up. Is this painfully obvious or am I missing something?

Argh! Somehow (don't ask) I must've tucked it into a folder (out of 4 panes worth) when it downloaded during the update, and I found it there.

The same way you download any other app. You click/tap the "buy" or "free" button. I'm guessing that's not what you really wish to ask, though. Can you post back and let us know what it is you wish to accomplish and where you're running into difficulty?

Reminders is automatically installed with 10.8 or above. A new Mac should have 10.9; it's possible that, with a third-party vendor, you have an earlier OS. Check under the Apple menu in the top left and click About This Mac. That will tell you what version of OS X you have.

Where and how do you save 'recorded' files on iPad?

I don't have iTunes (only on iPad), or computer, so anything to do with sync or similar is not an option.
I will need to put files from my recording player (a separate dictaphone device) (which is can connect to iPad through camera connection kit) onto iPad. Where and how do I need to save it, so it does not mix with music files?
Also, as a separate question- where do i save music on my iPad that I buy online? e.g. napster.co.uk
P.S. I have those questions because the book I'm learning about iPad, is only talking about iTunes etc, and so the files are automatically downloaded and stored where it has to be stored.

only way to get files to the ipad is using itunes / app store
and in limited ways using a computer
believe with only an ipad your only source for music is itunes and other music providers who make an app in app store to handle it would think a company like amazon would have a player not sure about napster didn't even think they were really around anymore

I got the latest version of itunes, the latest version of software for ipod touch but I still can't find the "APPS" tab in the preferences setting. How do you get the 2.0 update? I had the same problem with the other update when I first bought this thing. Apple is really ******* me off.

Ya know i would just wait because they dont HAVE to release it today, tommorow, or in the next year if they want too. Maybe they have a new idea and want to add that so you need to be patient... i know we were all dissapointed when i didnt come out in june but just shut your virtual mouth and wait!

Reminders. The best way
to do to-dos.
Make all kinds of to-do lists for anything you can think of. Then add deadlines and locations. Even set alerts. Or just tell Siri, “Remind me to take out the trash” or “Remind me to pay my phone bill Thursday.” And suddenly, everything you have to do seems a lot more doable.

The ipod is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

How to you stop the new Health App from running in the background? Its its always running collecting data on how many steps I have taken and how far I have walked.. I walked 12000 steps and travelled 4.1km DRIVING my kids to school this morning according to the app.

I never intend to use the health app because I do not need an app on my phone to help me live a healthy lifestyle. Therefore I find it intrusive there is no way to stop it from tracking my steps or whatever else it may be doing. I found a way to force the app to crash and maybe this will stop it from running in the background. Open the app, tap "Health Data" at the bottom of the screen, tap "Fitness" then "Steps" and tap "Add Data" type in a huge number - a very huge number with 30 or more characters, you can even add more than 1 decimal point. Repeat this for "walking + Running Distance". From this point forward the app will crash when you try to look at the data. Maye this prevents it from recording new data, I'm not sure but I really like the fact the app crashes. Hopefully Apple will add a feature to allow us to turn off data collection altogether or even better, allow us to delete this app.

So I have Office 365 installed. Running the owa Outlook and the desktop verison at the same time. Outlook 2013 servers from Microsoft. What I noticed is that changes to some don't affect others:
On the owa version, I had to activate both Linkedin and Facebook connectors, even though they were already loaded and operational in the Outlook desktop version..which I thought was strange. I am also running Exchange off the Microsoft servers.
So to the question... On the desktop Outlook version, when I click on a contact, View Source:
1)
Outlook (Contacts, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***)
Facebook
Linkedin
(this scenario is pulling the Facebook photo although I have a different photo assign in Outlook)

(this scenario pulls the Linedkin photo although I have a different picture assigned to it thru Contacts)

(this is pulling the facebook photo and not the linkedin photo)
Now if I go out to OWA:
1) Above is actually showing the LinkedIn photo (I also notice I have 3 linked profiles to this.. all 3 are LinkedIn profiles)
2) I show a Linkedin photo (I also have linked: Contacts, LinkedIn, LinkedIn)
3) I show a LinkedIn photo (I also have 2 other linkedin contacts linked to this contact)
So I'm guessing that the contacts that have multiple LinkedIn profiles linked to them were because of some duplicate recordes that occurred or it could be because I have my regular work profile for a contact and they had a different e-mail address they are
using for Facebook and LinkedIn possibly?
How can I change each contact so I can select their photo for 1) Contacts, *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (where I loaded a local picture of them) vs. using their LinkedIn photo vs. their Facebook photo?
Also, is there any 3rd party app or different way to increase the quality of LinkedIn and Facebook photos?

Where and how do I get the SQL Query used by the Microsoft Generic Report Library - Alerts?

Background:
I'm tasked with the following: I need to create a new Report and the SQL
The two canned reports that I can pattern after are: Microsoft Generic Report Library
- Alerts (there is also an alert detail report that can be chosen within the alert report that we may want to use instead)
- Most Common Alerts
I'm trying to do this:
Add another parameter to search on customfield3.
It should be able to report on all alerts that were assigned to the specific team for the time period along with the top 10 (most common alerts) assigned to the team for the time period.
Choose as the objects (group) all servers, but Imay need to adjust the report to just look at all alerts without having to provide objects or a group
The struggle I'm having is: I know SQL. I know how to create an RDL file.
But Where are the RDL files for the canned reports so I can modify the canned RDL and modify its SQL and forms?
What is the SQL/ where can I find the SQL used for the Generic Report Library -> Alerts

Easy but you need to extract it from Microsoft Generic Report Pack.
So.. the procedure is as follows:
1) You export and unseal Management Pack from your SCOM using
Boris's OpsgMgr tools (MPViewer
2.3.3)
2) Ok you've got unsealed xml, now the tricky part, use
MpElementsExtract tool, example of usage:
MPElementsExtract.exe <MP.xml> /ex /destination:<destination>
That you way you get several folders out of mp:
DWScripts, DWSubScripts, LinkedReports, ReportResources, Reports
Take a look into content of first 2, there will be pure sql scripts, and rdl's are in Reports folder :)
Other way is to just use SQL profiler and catch SQL query while generating report.

The j2me_cldc-1_0_2-fcs-kjava_overlay.zip file is no longer available for download as this old Palm overlay package is unsupported and not part of the CLDC 1.0 specification.
