Where are all my playlists on the new version of itunes
I have 30 plus playlists and when I download the new version they are all gone. Can anyone help a non techie find them again?!

They are not gone. Open View > Show Sidebar, so the sidebar will show and you can select the playlist you want on it

Downloaded latest version of itunes. Noticed that there is no provision to burn a playlist to CD under the file menu as in past versions. Although the help menu still references this function. Is this an oversight ?
Also noticed that the new itune program which interfaces with the iphone 5 , will only play videos bought through itune store. Where previous versions would play any video, or have I got wrong??
Any help would be appreciated .

Oldsalt 94Someone gave me the Mac Format magazine (Jan 2013), which contained a complete guide to iTunes 11.
One section was "Get the old look back". It stated that it was possible to tweak the interface to get the old look back by:-
1. Be on Music view and select Songs tab at top of window.
2. Click on the View menu. (Mine was hidden, but if you click on the dropdown arrow in the top left-hand corner the option is there to show the Menu Bar).
3. Click on Show Sidebar, then click on Show Status Bar.
This should make iTunes look like the old version.

Long term solution is to not allow your anti virus to scan the Thunderbird profile folders. -
Where is the photo button in the new version of iTunes? I need to sync photos from the computer?
On iTunes 11 you can re-enable the sidebar via View > Show Sidebar. To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from you library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos -
The previous version of Itunes had a function where I could identify duplicate songs in my iTUNES library. I cannot find this function in the new version of iTUNES.
Please advise where this is in the new version?The show duplicates/show exact duplicates features have been left out of iTunes 11. Rumor suggests they will be restored in the next build. In the meantime I have written two Windows scripts to make playlists of Duplicates and Exact Duplicates, either from a selection of tracks or the entire library.
If you want to manually remove duplicate tracks use shift-delete to remove selected tracks from the library as well as the playlist. Keep one of each repeated group of files and don't send to the recycle bin unless you are sure that there are multiple files on the disc as opposed to multiple entries to the same file.
There is also my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. This can preserve ratings, play counts, playlist membership, etc. which are lost in a manual clean up. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background on deduping and the script.

With the new version of iTunes, how do I manually add or remove music to my iPhone? I don't see my playlist anymore on the left...
App asserts I must have iTunes ver. 9.1 or later.
Where are you seeing this?
The app is not telling you that you need 9.1 on your iPad.
It does not use iTunes on the iPad for anything.
I'm trying to figure the version on my iPad.
It is the version that comes with your specific iOS firmware version.
But again, it is irrelevant to the app.
If you just got the iPad, it (the iPad) requires iTunes 10.4 on your computer. -
Where did my podcasts go? The new version erased ones marked to keep!
The new version of iTunes just wiped out months of collected podcasts, even though it is still set to keep them all? Where did they go? How can I redownload them all if they are no longer available? What did you break Apple?!

Did the new version of iTunes dump all my podcasts?
I got the new version of iTunes and all the podcasts are gone.
Podcasts are REALLY fricked up in iTunes 11.1, but mine were all still there. Try the "My Podcasts" section in iTunes. If they're gone, go to where they were stored on your HD and see if the files are still there.

I updated to the new version of Itunes and now I can't sync my ipod or iphone. It's not recognizing either in Itunes, but both are charging. How can I get Itunes to recognize my devices (that have always been recognized until this latest software update)?

OK, issue seems to be when I've selected "Albums" as the view. Moving to "Songs" is OK. This problem just appeared with the new release. Anyone else having difficulty?
well nobody bothered to give me a hint on what to do, maybe because the problems with the new version of iTunes are really a lot, there is an enormous amount of people out there that have all sort of different problems including mine so I have decided to return to the previous version which works fine and wait untill the apple people come up with a decent product ....

I have difficulties with the new version of ITune, which I never experienced in the older versions.
1. I do not know how to transfer a new radio podcast to a playlist. The previous option "show in playlist" does not appear.
2. I do not know how to download an older podcast from the list of available ones offered for download. The latest one only is downloading, none other, not even the most recent but one.
Your help will be greatly appreciated in these difficulties.

My HDD crashed and I had to reinstall my boot and programmes on a new HDD. I managed to recover my library.itl. How can i import it with the new version of itunes? When i try imprt playlist, it replies that it is not a validly exported file.
It should be like the very first time you synced your phone with I-Tunes. It will notice you haven't synced before and just copy everything from your phone into I-Tunes. It shouldn't delete anything from the phone, at least it never has for me. It just puts a copy of everything into I-Tunes and even if you delete an app for example from your phone and you decide you want it back later, you can just go back into I-Tunes and copy it back over. Hope this helps.
