Where are encoder options in cs5.5?

I just picked up a trial version of this so I'm just learning.  I have to compress large files but I'm not sure how.  My coworker (using Audition cs3) told me to do File > Save As > Options for something called 'encoder options'.  I can't find that on my trial of cs5.5.  Is there another location?  I don't know much about this stuff, but I guess I'll have to change the file to 20 kbps and 11025 Hz if those options make it any clearer of what I need to find.
Thanks!

Hi,
When you select File > Save As.. you should see the following dialog:
Change the Format box to the format you want,  MP3 for instance.  The Sample Type can be modified using the top Change... button to the right and lets you modify the sample rate, bit rate, and channelization.  The Format Settings description shows the current codec-specific options and these can be changed using the lower Change... button.  These options will be different depending on the file format to which you are saving, so if you have additional questions about how to compress these files, please let us know the format.  At the bottom, note the Estimated File Size which should help you determine the trade-off between quality and file size.

  • Where are power options saved in the Windows registry?

The problem is that a customer IT department did something wrong during deploying GP preferences. Now nothing is working and we have to delete all settings, that the new GP preferences I newly created will work.
Now GP preferences is not working on 300 clients. I don't know what they have done. If we reinstall the clients, GP preferences (power settings) are working fine. They have only used GP preferences for power settings. No other changes before the problem started.
My senior manager told me to delete power options / settings in the Windows registry. So I can delete this?

    Hi
Where are power options / settings from Windows 7 saved in the Windows registry? We deploy the energy settings via GPO’s.
    Many thanks in advance

Missing all export options in Adobe Premiere (can only export to final cut pro xml). Where are the options?

There never was a trial version of FCP7. The application was only ever sold as part of the Final Cut Studio suite of applications. You might still find copies on eBay.

  • Where is 'collate' option in CS5?

I cannot locate the collate option in the CS5 Photoshop print dialog window. It exists in all previous versions of Photoshop and even refers to it in the help section.
The reason it is important is that when printing any quantity of large files, if it is checked, it will send the job X number of times to the printer. Instead of just sending it once with instructions to pint it X number of times. When dealing with large image files, the amount memory required to print even a small quantity can become very large quickly and overwhelm the printer's capacity, thus causing issues or not printing at all.
I've been in the print industry for 15 years and as most of us know, it is important to disable 'collate' in the print dialog window or it sends whatever quantity you requested each time, causing very slow or issue laden printing.
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, that is technically true. However, almost every application has it's own print settings as well, including a collate option (all previous versions of PS had a collate option.
That is the reason for the conflict. There are two different drivers telling the printer to do the same thing, the application's driver and the printer's driver. This is a very common issue in the print industry, making printing very slow or issue laden. The solution is simple, uncheck the collate option in the application driver and leave the collate option checked in the print driver = no conflict.
This issue has been tested w/CS4 PS (Mac OSX 10.6); with the collate option checked, slow printing or not enough memory and with the collate option unchecked, prints fast with no memory issues.

  • Can get a new phone upgrade, but where are my options?

hey all. I've been a consistent Verizon customer since 2006 and I've never had a problem....until now. I currently have the Motorola W755 (purple) phone and it is/was a pretty good phone. I like the capabilities it has, but lately, it's just not been as good as it used to be. I've been checking the online store for a 'plain and boring' phone but I also don't want to 'downgrade' to something similar to what I had BEFORE the Motorola. Seems to me, all the phones that Verizon will offer are either crap phones with 3 or less stars, decent phones with no camera option or a multi-media/smart phone where you have to pay extra to use it. I currently have a $50 off discount and on top of the 'buy online' and the 'new every 2' program, I can pretty much get a phone for free, but nothing seems worth it to me.
Im on a seriously fixed income and CANNOT pay even the extra $10 monthly fee for a data package. This cuts my phone options down to either a phone with 2 or 2.5 stars with a camera or a phone with 4-5 stars with NO camera. All I want is a flip (clam shell) phone that I can use to text, make calls and occasionally take a picture with. I'm not a fan of the slider, qwerty phones or the touch screen phones.
I guess just a vent..Wondering if anyone else has had this issue? What have you done, if anything, to rectify it? I even looked at the prices to switch to AT&T earlier today....

If you need to use your NE2 credit to afford a new phone, you can see your choices on the Verizon site.  If you can't afford data, your choice is to choose a Feature phone or continue to use your current model.  You could always wait for a while and hope that Verizon releases a new "Feature" phone that meets your needs.

  • Where are suffix-hints in cs5, as3.0

Here is the question, when I start with a actionscript 2.0 file, I get hints in the scriptarea both for as 2.0 as 3.0 code. See images above.
But when I start with a actionscript 3.0 file, I do not get the hints, nor for as. 2.0 as for as. 3.0. Does anyone know why, or what I should do to get the hints back? (I know about the new code snippets panel, that is not the answer I am looking for.)
    regards, Anne Vossen

Thanks Hakan, but the hints that you get then is very different and
complicated.....e.g. addEventListener was easy to find, but now, I do not
know how long to scroll....and still can not find it...

I hope this question is repetitive. Just trying to sync the beta mobile version with my HTC Incredible. Thanks all for what you do!

Firefox Sync needs to be installed in Firefox 3.6 versions, it is not a standard feature like with the Firefox 4.o beta versions.

  • Where are the AE render settings in Media Encoder?

I'd like to use Adobe Media Encoder for background rendering, but how do you set the render settings (like bit depth, motion blur, solo switches, guide layers, ect)?
Also, how do you select the output color profile from AME?

    Hi Clint,
Sorry for the long delay on replying, I've been busy. Doesn't look like you've cross-posted this to the AME forum, so I'll take a crack at the answers:
    1) AE renders compositions at a bit depth of 8, 16, and 32 (float). AME can encode frames at 24, 32, 48, and 64 (for ProRes 4444, for example). How do these things relate to each other, and how/why should you use a particular AME bit depth setting for an AE comp?
These numbers all represent bit depth.  AE states bit depth in terms of bits per channel (bpc). AME usually states bit depth in total bits per pixel (bpp = bpc multiplied by the number of channels). It's one of those little inconsistencies that comes from the two apps growing up under different development teams.
RGB has three channels. RGB + Alpha has four channels. Doing the math:
    RGB 8 bpc = 24 bpp
    RGBA 8 bpc = 32 bpp
    RGB 16 bpc = 48 bpp
    RGBA 16 bpc = 64 bpp
So if you want 8-bit output with an alpha channel, you'd set the bit depth in AME to 32. If you don't need an alpha channel, set it to 24. Note that AME doesn't have equivalent options for 32 bpc formats. (If it did, the bpp equivalents would be 96 and 128 bpp!) There are very few such codecs anyway.
    2) What effects does "Use Maximum Render Quality" have on a comp? Does it only come into play if your are encoding to a different resolution to the source comp? Will it change the color processing?
IIRC, the "Use Maximum Render Quality" switch doesn't affect AE comps. It only has an effect when the source is a Premiere Pro sequence. This article has some detail about how the switch affects Premiere Pro sequences:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/2010/10/scaling-in-premiere-pro-cs5.html
    3) Does AME always render at "Full" resolution or does it look at the resolution setting in the AE comp window? What if it's set to "auto"?
    4) Does AME pay attention to the comp window Region of Interest?
    5) Does AME care about the composition motion blur button or does it just look at the layer motion blur settings?
    7) How does AME handle color management? Does it always output in the working space?
These questions all have the same basic answer. When the AE comp is loaded via Dynamic Link, it will be processed using the state of the comp at the time the AE project was saved. Any switches available in the Timeline panel like Motion Blur will be used in their current state, and there is no control over them from the AME side.
Keep in mind that comp viewer switches like Region Of Interest and preview resolution aren't a function of the comp itself, and thus aren't seen by AME. They are a function of the Comp viewer panel. (The difference being the same as between a piece of artwork and the glass of the frame. If the glass is warped then the art looks warped. AME only looks at the artwork without the glass.) Color Management, similarly, while controlled at the project level is interpreted via the Comp viewer panel or by AE's Render Queue; AE's color management is not in the chain of processing used by AME. But you can acheive the same color management transforms via AME by using the Color Profile Converter effect and setting the input and output profiles specifically.
So, what AME sees in an AE comp will be identical to what you see in the Comp panel in AE at full resolution when ROI and any other viewer switches (like the Transparency Grid or guides or color channel selection) are turned off, and without a project working color space being set. From this point the pixels could be affected by AME via scaling or if there is a color space transform inherent to the chosen output format (ex., RGB to YUV).
    6) How does AME decide whether to interlace the render?
This is defined by the Field Order setting in the AME Output Settings. That seems pretty straightforward to me, so if I'm missing something about your question please clarify.

  • Why are the options for "When Firefox starts" NOT clickable in Firefox 5? I want to choose "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net" but Firefox won't let me.

In the previous version of Firefox one could choose to save tabs so that when Firefox opened, all the tabs from the previous sessions appeared. This was done in Settings > Options > General > Startup. In the menu for the "When Firefox Starts" one had the option for "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net." in Firefox 5.0, this menu is gray and not clickable. Help, please?

''Why are the options for "When Firefox starts" NOT clickable in Firefox 5?"
Possibly you are not saving your "browsing history" which is what the session history is tied into.
'''Not saving History''' -- check your settings for '''Tools > options > Privacy'''', make sure you are not clearing more than just cache in "Settings for Clearing History"
    * http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4928/clearcachew.png
    * clearing your history at end of session, cache is the only one you would want to clear at end of session, if you don't want to lose things
There are several things that are related to private browsing and not saving History
    * Private Browsing Ctrl+Shift+P
    * You selected "Never remember history" in first drop-down of Tools > Options Privacy and all of the check marks disappear (See picture above)
    * "Permanent private browsing mode" was check-marked under "Use custom settings for history" in the first drop-down of Tools > options > Privacy (see picture above)

  • Where do I find the enable cache option in CS5?

Where do I find the enable cache option in CS5?

First, define the site.  Go to Site > Manage Sites.  Enter the Local site folder where you want to keep your files.
Under servers, add the  FTP log-in details for your remote site as provided to you by your web host.
Root directory is where your hosting provider told you to upload the publicly accessible files.  Commonly used root folders include public_html, www or htdocs but this varies by host.  If unsure, contact your hosting provider for details.
When you're done defining your site, hit TEST to verify connection and then SAVE your settings.
In the DW Files Panel (F8) click on Remote Server and hit the green Down Arrow to GET files from remote site to your local site folder.
