Where are hardware developer notes?

Where did Apple hide the hardware developer notes? I've been looking around, tried Google, got nowhere. I don't mean the "technical specifications" pages linked from the support page. Specifically, I want to be able to find the model identifier string for a given model.

No, I didn't see the previous question.
Yes, the everymac link is very helpful, thanks.
The immediate problem I was dealing with is that Apple support articles identity Mac models by descriptions such as "iMac 21.5in (Late 2009)", which are not shown in the System Profiler, so if you're not sure when a particular Mac was manufactured, it can be hard to tell which support articles apply to it.

  • Hardware Developer Notes where are they?

Anyone know where Apple have stashed the 'Hardware Developer Notes' for all the Intel based machines?
Years ago the Reference Library displayed the Hardware Notes for each and every Apple hardware model. These developer notes provided detailed information. The link has since been removed which I managed to find but there is zero sign of the same documentation for the Intel based hardware.
Here is the link to the now dubbed 'Legacy Hardware'
    http://developer.apple.com/legacy/mac/library/documentation/Hardware/hardware2.h tml
Click on a HTML or PDF link for any model to view detailed hardware info.

    Hi-
The product specific pages are pretty much gone.
Even as a registered Developer, pages similar to those are non-existent.
The tools and documents available deal primarily with standard hardware basics (cross model) and subjects that allow for software creation to work with OS X on all Intel machines (later than 2008).

  • Where are all my notes??

I upgraded my MacBook Pro to OS X Yosemite. When it finished all of my notes where gone! I had really important stuff there and I can't find where my notes are. They are not in my iCloud either.

So you are saying that the Notes app does not included any notes?
Have you tried restoring them from your backup?
Are you using the same iCloud ID?

  • Where are the release notes for the latest Shockwave 12.1.2.152

The download is not associated with the latest Shockwave security bulletin APSB14-10 (v12.1.0.150)

    Adobe Live Chat .. useless
"click here for more info: Adobe - Adobe Shockwave Player "
As if an Adobe "get" page ever had any technical information, ever.
A LANDESK forum suggests it is a security update, even giving a line of advice that sounds parroted from a standard Adobe security bulletin, but where?
"(June 04, 2014) Adobe has released Shock wave Player version 12.1.2.152: Adobe recommends users of Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1.1.151 and earlier versions update to Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1.2.152."

I don't know the exact content or the title of the documents, therefore I search for it.

  • Where are the synced notes?

Where do you find the synced NOTES on your Mac after syncing the iPhone? I have OS 3.0...

In the Apple Mail app. You should see a Reminders section in the sidebar on the left. If you don't see Notes, click the 'expand' triangle then click on Notes.

  • Re: Tecra A10 - where are the release notes for updated BIOS?

    Hi,
I have a problem with my Tecra A 10, it occassionally shuts itself down.
I've updated from BIOS 1.4 to BIOS 3.0 to see if this fixes it.
I can't find any release notes to see what has changed between BIOS revisions, can someone point me to them?
    Thanks
    Dominic

    Hi as***,
Thanks for that, exactly what I was looking for.
I won't know if it's fixed it or not until I run the laptop for a few days as it only happens every now and again.
I can already see faster boot times after the bios update though, which is one of the things listed in the bios change history so it was worth updating it.
The laptop is only a few months old, I checked the heat sink before I updated the bios as I read this shutdown problem can be caused by overheating due to a clogged heat sink but mine is clean already.
It also has a problem with the USB ports, sometimes when I plug in a USB device it blue screens, again not consistently, just every now and again. I'm hoping the bios update might help with that as well but still going to look at any other firmware that might help as well.
    Thanks
    Dominic

  • MacBook Pro: where are my mail notes?

I was running Mac OS X 10.6.8 (or thereabouts) on my MacBook Pro and recently upgraded to Mavericks. Now my Mail program seems to have lost all my Notes. I had a lot of information stored on those notes from studies, home improvement projects, ordering information, etc.
Is there a way to recover the Notes, or do I have to go to the back-up I made before I updated? And is there a way to run Mavericks without iCloud? iCloud seems to be causing lots of hiccups with Calendar also.
    Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the encouragement, William. Can you point me to a good beginners tutorial for icloud? I have never used it before, and I really have no use for it (I think) since I back everything up to an external hard drive. I own a new Windows <gasp> phone, so my main platform for syncing devices is probably Google (and the Windows phone app) at this point. Not exactly seamless, but I'm figuring it out. Slowly.
    Thanks again.

  • Where are my Calendars and my Notes??

I have just upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion and am checking through everything.  Most things appear ok (even if Mail is rather different....)  However two vital things I need appear incorrect:
    1.  I run several calendars and manage my whole work via them - I see clients for two practices and manage them via my calendars plus everything else.  It appears that my work calendars and a few others have disappeared (including all my booked clients for tomorrow!!!) and it even appears to have picked up a recurring calendar item that I deleted 12 months ago.....  Really hoping this will be quick and easy to fix!
    2.  I have been using Notes within Mail for everything - I no longer use a pen and paper.  It's great that Notes have been moved out to be on their own but where are all my notes with details of all sorts of vital things?
Hoping you can provide some urgent suggestions as it is 10:49 pm here, so Apple Support is not available till 9:00am tomorrow and I need to know a few things  before then (like, what clients do I have when, and what is the Case Number of the Apple Support call I made this morning about this install?)
    THanks
    Suzy

There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files (purchases and songs from CD etc) and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iPodRip Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

  • Where are actions stored locally for Photoshop CC on a Mac (OS 10.9)?

I've looked everywhere (on my start-up hard drive) and can't locate where Photoshop CC keeps actions locally. Even if I'm syncing to Adobe Cloud service, I assume there has to be a local version somewhere.

Well, funny you should mention that...
What got me started on this time-suck of a quest is looking into this folder:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC/Presets/Actions
and discovering there were no actions to be found there! So, in my WTF moment, I went, where are my actions? Why is the Actions folder in my home library empty? That's not cool. (More importantly, will the little darlings survive the transition to CC 2014?) I could see them in the Actions palette, so, whew, they're still in tact, but that's what got me asking, Where are they? (Note that I use the tilde for "/User/[user name]" as a shortcut.)
The other thing that threw me was this:
The default actions with their .atn extension are living out in the open for all to see in
    /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC/Presets/Actions
So, not only did it seem like actions were still alive and well living as separate, .atn files, but that my own actions were intentionally being hidden for some reason.
So, R_Kelly, I'll be curious, once I do the big install of CC 2014, if actions end up where you said to look because that would actually be a big change.
It does seem like they are living in
    ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CC Settings/Actions palette.psp
because I made up some actions, synced up to the ol' cloud in the sky, and they came down to my other computer, so apparently that's how it works.
