Where are Image Trace custom presets saved?

I had to reinstall CS6 and am now looking for my old AI Image Trace custom presets. I'd like to restore them if possible from a Time Machine backup so I don't have to recreate a setting, but I can't seem to find where those are located. Can someone point me in the right direction.
Thanks!
Laura

On a Mac they are in the hidden Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences
Google for Mac OSX hidden library for instructions to show the Library folder.

not right in front of me right now, but in documents and settings\yourusername\application data\adobe.... somewhere in there is a folder called something like "workspace settings". you need to have view hidden files and folders and view system files turned on in explorer's tools menu to view the application data folder structure.

  • Where are images from screensaver RSS saved?

    Hi!
I'm using the built-in RSS screensaver (not the RSS visualizer, but the one created by clicking + sign) and added a custom picture RSS-stream. Does anyone know where the picture from the RSS-stream are saved?

If you enjoy this functionality DON'T upgrade to Mountain Lion, that or upgrade to a Windows PC.  The all knowing Apple has removed this functionality because... well they didn't give a reason.  Why would they?  Dictatorship is fun.

  • Where are the filter/effect presets saved on a Mac?

I've searched a bit but can't seem to find anything but tutorials on saving your own presets.
On my old Mac I had a few presets which I liked, and so I want to copy them to my new Mac. I have a Time Machine backup and I managed to find my export presets, but need a bit of help on the filter/effect presets.
    Thanks in advance!

Good to know, but unfortunately my old computer broke so I can't export the presets, I only have the Time Machine back up.
Surely they get saved somewhere in the program files?

  • Where are all the Develop Presets located?

In the Develop Preset folder (Vista: C:\Users\Howie\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Develop Presets) there are only a few presets listed instead of all the creative and sharpening presets as seen in the Quick Develop "saved preset" drop down. Where are all the other presets located?
Note: my goal is to look at each creative preset to see just what settings are being applied.

Don - that is not what he is asking.
Howie - I have no idea where they are stored on Windows - from a quick exploration I guess they are in the Application .exe file. On the Mac you can get into this, but I'm not sure you can on a PC
However the simplest thing to do is Apply a Preset and Note what is does in the Develop Module. That will be what the Preset is trying to do.
Alternatively Apply the Preset and Create a New Preset with a Different Name, it will have the same settings.

  • Where are Excel Add-in options saved ?

    Hi,
Please, could anyone tell me where are Excel Add-in options saved for each worksheet ?
In the Excel file ? Registry ? File system ?
    Regards

I think Sean might be right about the last value, but they are also stored with the woorkbook as a named range. If you go to insert->name->define you should see a series of named ranfes starting with ess, I don't have excel opened in from of me, but I think one of them is essoptions. It has a string of numbersand strings following it. Each position reflects one of the options. it looks something like A2100000000010101000001100020_0000

Here's a great opportunity to file a feature request. In InDesign CS5.5, Preferences > File Handling displays the location of recovery files, and offers users the option to choose a custom location. It would be a great logical step to make the locations of the various presets and other stored items available and also offer users the option to customize. Care to file a request in the usual place - Adobe Feature Request or Bug Report form.
As preferences, these details are out of the way, yet are much easier to find than searching through a disk's file system.

  • Illustrator's Image Trace custom options no longer available.

I am running Illustrator CS6 on Mac OS 10.7.5.  The custom option in Image Trace is no longer available, greyed out. Does anyone know what would cause this? I have not updated anything software-wise in a while, it just suddenly became unavailable. I need troubleshooting suggestions. Thanks.

  • Where are image files stored for tiled backgrounds in the templates?

I am working with a template, but wanted to change the image that is set to tile in the background of one of the text boxes. I wanted to use another image that is set to tile in a different box, but I cannot locate this image. When changing the image on the Image Fill, after I click Choose, I need to point to an image file - anyone know where these images that are in the templates are stored?

The files are located in the theme package that's located in the iWeb application: iWeb/Contents/Resources/Themes folder. From there you find the theme, open the package and drill down till you find the image files. You will have to use Quickview to locate the one you want.
    What theme are you using?

  • Where are image files (Bug Tracker Application)

I downloaded the Bug Tracker packaged application and in one of the list (Administration Tab), the list is presented with images. For example User Profiles item show the Image attribute as menu/user_red_32.gif
I want to know where this image is actually uploaded? I cannot see this particular image in the Shared Components/Images
    What is "menu" in menu/user_red_32.gif
    Thanks,
    Jay

    Jay,
menu is a folder in your images directory. That's where we store many of the artwork we ship with Application Express. It's a physical folder on your harddisk if you're using Apache or it's a folder in XDB when using 11g.

  • Where are X-Fi Profiles (presets) sav

    Hi there.
I just upgraded my X-Fi drivers to the May 30th version so I could try out the Prey demo.
I was disheartened to see however, that my saved graphic equaliser profiles etc have been erased,
and I only have the default profiles available.
I had one set up in Audio Creation Mode for my guitar, which I'd spent hours getting "just so" and would like to get it back.
Fortunately I made a Ghost image a few days ago, so the file should still be in there if it got overwritten,
but searching for the name of the profiles in the folder comes up empty.
I just tried making a new EQ profile and saving it, so I could attempt to find the file, so I knew where they would be stored, but I can't find it.
So please could somebody tell me where the profiles (or having just checked again, they're called "Presets" in the audio console) are saved, so that I may recover my previous presets from my ghost image, rather than have to try to start all over again getting my EQ and Guitar sounding exactly as I like again?
    Please advise,
    Many thanks,

Unfortunately seems to be a little different with X-Fi.
Have navigated to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CREATIVE TECH\Component Installed
and checked each entry below that. Each entry had an "object" field, but opening all of those didn't show any presets, but found just about every other setting in there Typical!
I did also search the entire registry for preset names, and came up empty
Hopefully somebody from Creative can shed more light on this, so I don't have to loose my presets when I upgrade the driver again
    VN.
P.S. Have also now got the Windows search to search for words inside files, in case the presets were stored in an .ini or so... searched for the word "guitar" which is the preset for my... erm... guitar!
Searched the entire Creative folder in program files, came up empty, just scanned the registry for the word "guitar" came up empty also.
I know the Creative drivers have been in for a lot of flak, but I have to say that I'm very disappointed to think there's no easy way to retain your settings when you do upgrade the drivers.

  • Where are the Gradient color presets in CS6?

    Hi,
I've gone from CS4 to CS6 and when using the Gradient tool, there used to be a properties box that you could open with a whole list of preset color gradients to choose from, i used to use the 'Black - White' one all the time, which kinda blurred the edges, made a transparent gradient and allowed, for want of a better word, montages to be created easily, but now this function seems to have gone. Is it hiding somewhere that I don't know about? Or alternatively, can someone advise me on how to get the same effect that the Black White Preset used to give me?
    Thanks a lot
    Jules

Yeah, those gradients are gone in CS6. On the one hand, most of them were pretty cheesy; on the other hand, it's a bit surprising they took away those presets but still didn't offer users a simple way to save gradients.
One way that you can save gradients is as Styles. As an experiment, I actually did this one day for the classic Fireworks gradients. Once created, styles can be saved as a library, where you can call on them from within any FW document.
Another way to quickly create a black and white gradient is by setting the fill and/or stroke colors, which are the basis of gradients. You can reset the default fill and stroke colors within the Tools panel. However, this can be tricky, at times, depending on what objects are selected and what type of fill they already have; it can be easy to accidentally apply a stroke to an object this way. Alternatively, if Stroke is set to None, then setting Fill to Black will result in a black and white gradient when you switch to a gradient Fill type.

  • Where are the console launcher profiles saved (x-fi)

Everytime i install new drivers, all my equalizer settings get erased. and i have equalizer profiles for each band..
does anynone know where these are stored on win7 64bit, or any OS. I kind of want to back them up
thx in advance for any help

Since this was a question I had too, and Google brought it up as the 1st hit for the search parameter "creative console launcher where equalizer settings saved", I thought I'd post the answer for future reference.
    Using Win 7 Pro x64
    Look here:
    C:\ProgramData\Creative\CADI\Preset
    For this data file:
    PCI_BUS1102-5-2C1102-EC00U{1}.PCI+VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_002C1102&REV _00+4&1B00B4D9&0&484.dat
I found that when I created a test preset called EQ Test, saved it, and then exited CCL, the Date Modified stamp changed to the current date and time.
That's more than likely the file to backup so you don't have to re-enter EQ settings. Like a lot of you, this issue has been driving me nuts when you have something tweaked just right. Creative Labs UI developers need to think a little harder when creating these types of programs.

  • Where are role and administrator settings saved?

We have had issues in the past that have caused us to have to
re-setup our site, including all administrative settings and all
roles and users. Surely all of this is saved somewhere. If we just
knew where, we could backup the info for an easier restore if
    further problems ensue.
Anyone know how to backup site settings?

I got the following reply on a separate forum:
    quote:
For a website that has been administered by Contribute
(Publishing server is not enabled), you would find an _mm folder in
the website root on the remove server. This is a contribute
specific folder and it contains the administrative settings, role
    information and users.
For CPS managed sites, the _mm folder still holds the
information about the administrative settings and role information.
The user information of the sites are stored in the Database folder
of CPS. The Database folder can be found in the following location,
    <CPS Install Path>\Database.
