Where are javadoc for Oracle 8?

Wow, this site is so horrendous. I am constantly going around my elbow to get to my a__. We use Oracle 8i. We are not using 9. I would like to download the correct jar with the Oracle drivers for Java 1.4.1 and Oracle 8i and also the JavaDoc for Oracle. I am amazed at how difficult it is to find something so simple. Can anyone help me out?

If you go to the Downloads icon on the top right-hand corner, you can get to the downloads section. Oracle JDBC drivers is an option there.
I don't believe that there were 8i JDBC drivers for the 1.4 JDK. You should be able to use the 9i drivers to connect to an 8i database, but you would need the 9i client if you're using the OCI driver. The 8.1.7 JDBC drivers only had support for the 1.1 and 1.2 JDK's.

Where are classes for oracle.xml.parser.v2?

I have downloaded both V1 and V2 of the XML parser. I have managed to download the java classes under org.w3c.dom from www.w3.org but I can't find the classes under oracle.xml.parser.v2 (or without v2) anyway on technet. Both are required for import.
I would have expected them to be in the ZIP files xmlparser_v1_0_2_0.zip and xmlparser_v2_0_2_7.zip but they don't seem to be. These contain the equivalent HTML files but not the class files themselves, so compiling the samples is not possible.
Any help would be appreciated as this is becoming very frustrating.

For what it's worth, I couldn't find the javadoc, either. However, since "OracleCachedRowSet" implements the "javax.sql.RowSet" and "javax.sql.RowSetInternal" interfaces, wouldn't the javadoc for those interfaces be sufficient?
In any case, there is a "RowSet" chapter in the "Oracle JDBC Developer's Guide and Reference". Perhaps that will be of help? It is available from here:

Is there anywhere a Javadoc for all Oracle Java Packages? I've found a Javadoc for oracle.forms.Jdapi, but it would be useful to get a Javadoc for all Oracle classes

Where are files for my applications kept? I'm trying to do a clean install.

I have an intel imac OS 10.6.8. I have to do a clean install and need to transfer my files to a USB flashdrive because time machine hasn't backed up in 3 months. Where are files for my applications kept?

Since you mentioned Time Machine, I'm assuming you have an external hard drive? So why not make a complete backup - either with Time Machine or a bootable clone with CarbonCopyCloner or SuperSuper? Applications sometimes transfer well, but not always - it depends how many files/parts they have on the hard drive in different locations. There is no simple answer to your question because of that - it depends on the individual application. I'd back up all of it, do the install, and then use Setup Assistant to port things back.

1) Financial Analytics
2) HR Analytics
3) Oracle Supply Chain Analytics
Before installing BI Appcations we have to install Oracle BI EE, and there are some components in Oracle BI EE.

I want to install Oracle BI EE and it need OracleAS wich I can install from Oracle SOA suite (2nd choice of the installation type). But in the setup progression of AS, I had a message that the ORACLE HOME exist.
I had an instance of SOA suite installed, but I have uninstall it and remove the oracle home from system variables.

SWITCHOVER_STATUS value are different for Oracle 11gR1 and 11gR2

Hi All,
I would like to know why is there a difference in the SQL output when run on a 11gR1 and 11gR2 Primary database in a DataGuard configuration.
On a 11gR1 Primary database
Open an SQL Session on the Primary database and run the SQL statement
SQL> select switchover_status from v$database;
To Standby
Now open a second SQL Session
Run the above SQL statement
SQL> select switchover_status from v$database;
Sessions Active
Now, when I do the same on a 11gR2 Primary database here is the result
On a 11gR2 Primary database
Open an SQL Session on the Primary database and run the SQL statement
SQL> select switchover_status from v$database;
To Standby
Now open a second SQL Session
Run the above SQL statement
SQL> select switchover_status from v$database;
To Standby
Is this a bug in 11gR2 ? Is there a patch/fix available ?

The result on the Standby Database is "Not Allowed". This is because there is no alternative Standby Available.
I have some scripts which does the switchover based on the Database status. As per Oracle 11gR2 DataGuard Admin docs.
Cut pasted for Oracle DataGuard Admin docs.
Step 1 Verify that the primary database can be switched to the standby role.
SQL> SELECT SWITCHOVER_STATUS FROM V$DATABASE;
SWITCHOVER_STATUS
TO STANDBY
1 row selected
Note: The WITH SESSION SHUTDOWN clause can be omitted from
the switchover statement if the query performed in the previous step
returned a value of TO STANDBY.
When I use SQL statement "ALTER DATABASE COMMIT TO SWITCHOVER TO PHYSICAL STANDBY;" and if there are Active SQL sessions then I get the error
ALTER DATABASE COMMIT TO SWITCHOVER TO PHYSICAL STANDBY *
ORA-01093: ALTER DATABASE CLOSE only permitted with no sessions connected

When I sync my iPhone or iPad, iTunes always backups, which is great. Where can I find those files or folders.

There are no music or apps or vids in the backup that itunes performs when syncing.
It is certainly no substitute for the regular backup of your computer that you should be performing.
