Where are keywords recorded?

When I add keywords to an image - either using the buttons or the metadata panel do they become part of the image file or are they recorded in the aperture library file linked to that image?

The keywords are stored in the Aperture library. If you export a version, the keywords will be exported alongside that version (whether the version is a TIFF, JPEG, or PSD file, all of which support keywords).

  • Where are keyword files located and how do I get them into lightroom 4?

I have upgraded from lightroom 3 to lightroom 4.  In many cases the keywords are missing - sort of. When I click on a single photo, the keywords don't show up.  If I select a bunch of photos, the keywords show up as a group.  Why aren't they listed for individual photos?  How can I get them "connected" without redoing each photo?  Let me know if you need more information.  It seems I read somewhere that the keywords are kept in a separate file (many of these photos are jpg, so I'm not talking .xmp), but I can't find where I read this.  Anyone know?
    Thanks for help.
    Margaret

Hello.  It looks like I recovered all my keywords attached to photos.  What I did:
First I located all photos without keywords using a metadata search.
I found that it seemed to be certain groups of photos that had no keywords.  I decided to at least get the main keyword on all of those in a particular group, like Canyonlands.
Once I added one of the keywords, the others all showed up magically!  I then went to each group of photos and added the main keyword, and the others came along and attached to the photos.
Don't understand why this occurred or why it got fixed, since it was so random.  But, I'm glad to have my keywords restored (I had divided flowers by color, etc. so it was a lot of work!)
Thanks for the discussion and help.

  • Where are Keywords stored in Bridge?

I am going to have to reload my computer from scratch, reinstalling all of the programs I need on a new hard drive.  Nevermind why, it is necessary.
However, I have an extensive collection of images all of which were given keywords in Bridge.  If you recall, you can create sets of keywords that can be used over and over by simply checking a square next to the keyword.
I suspect that those keywords are stored in a file somewhere.  I would like to keep that file so that I dont have to reenter all of those keywords once I have reloaded the system.
Is there such a file?  If so where is it?  And is it a simple matter of simply saving that file and reintroducing it into the newly loaded Photoshop once the reload is done?
    Dave

I should have stated that the keywords are the ones you establish in Bridge and that you
choose from to add to the image.
I have dozens if not a hundred keywords entered from which I choose.  Yes the image info will survive but the sets of keywords I have entered into Bridge will be lost unless I can save the storage file.  And I am using XP.
    Thanks,
    Dave

  • Where are reversed records in DS 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL?

    Dear Experts,
I have to use datasource 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL. I think data comes from table AFKO, AFPO, and AFVC, right?
However, the report needs data from AFRU instead of AFVC.
       Questions:
       1) What is the difference between AFRU and AFVC?
       2) In AFRU, there are reversing and reversed records (FLAG AFRU-STOKZ); however, in AFVC, there seems to be only records which are not reversed. Am I right in this point?
       3) Come back to datasource 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL. If I still need to see the reversed records from DS 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL, how can I set it?
       4) If I still need data from AFRU, is there any other standard datasources? Otherwise, I have to create a new one to extract data from AFRU.
I am sorry this is my first time to touch PP Module. If I understand something wrong, please clarify them.
       Thank you in advance.

can u thro some light on this....

  • Where are keywords stored

How do I restore keywords to the keyword HUD? I deleted all keywords from the HUD, edited the keyword list and imported the edited list. I assumed that I could repopulate the keywords by updating the metadata from master (these are referenced files), but that obviously didn't work.
Using another program, I have confirmed that the files still contain the keywords. I therefore assumed that I could use my Time Machine backup to restore to a time before my HUD edits. I did restore the Aperture app, but the HUD was not restored. What file must I restore to regain the unaltered keyword list and restore the keyword-image connection in Aperture.

Keywords are on a per library basis in Aperture. There are two files in the Aperture library package in the Database folder Keywords.plist and KeywordSets.pist.
You could try and copy those in from your old library. Never tried this myself so I can't guarantee success but it's worth a shot
As always when mucking about in the library package you want ot make sure you have a good working backup of the library.

  • Oracle Exams written 7 years ago...where are my records!?

    Please help!
I had written approximately 5 Oracle exams for the Oracle Developer 2000 Forms and Reports (6i) track back in 2001. Due to an earlier move, I'm no longer able to locate my Oracle exam records! I called prometric and they did not have any of my information and said that because it has been over 7 years, all my results are sent to Oracle and that I should contact them.
I have sent an email to [email protected] with all my information (Prometeric Candidate ID, Full name and address) mid last week requesting them to provide me a list of exams I have completed.
Will they be able to have my information even though it has been over 7 years?
    Can anyone help me?

    Hello,
Your exam records should be in the Certification Database. Please be sure that when you sent your request to [email protected] that you included your Prometric ID, and that all your exams were taken under the same Prometric ID.
The customer service team will respond soon. They have been experiencing a very high volume of emails recently and the wait time has been an average of 5 business days. You should receive a response soon. Thank you for your patience.

  • Where are my recording devices?

I trying to start using Vista, I have Vista Home Premium. But I like to record things on my system and make wav files. But when I tried to set up my Aux-In for recording it was not there. All I have is a microphone and digital-in. Where is everything else? Funny thing is I use the same machine with an XP Pro HDD for when I have to work (The software I use is not Vista friendly) and I have all the recording options that I am used to. What's up?

I am a beginner too. This question is very interesting to me too.

  • User and Group IDs.. and where are these recorded?

I come from a Unix background, so I'm having a little trouble getting my head around this. /etc/passwd and /etc/group are apparently not used for normal user accounts in OSX. Is there a way to change the UID and GID of a user account?
The reason I'm asking is because the Mac version of Guitar Pro installs as UID and GID 501 and, on my Mac, it crashes about halfway through playing a song with:
    Exception: EXCBADACCESS (0x0001)
    Codes: KERNINVALIDADDRESS (0x0001) at 0x061f9f18
... and I suspect the problem is file permission related, as my main user account is UID/GID 502, and 501 does not relate to any existing user account on the system (I deleted my original account shortly after getting my Mac and created a new account for myself) .

UIDs and GIDs are managed with /Applications/Utilities/Netinfo Manager. Since you claim to have a unix background, you probably don't need to be told to not mess with any of its settings unless you know what you are doing.

  • Where are Bridge's keywords stored?

Hey I am using Bridge CS3.
My image storage methodology in brief:
I have a partition on my main work station that acts as my image storehouse. I have the same on my laptop. I have Bridge pointing at those partitions, receptively on each computer.
When in the field I use the laptop as dump for the cards that I fill from the digital camera. I do some work in the field, on the laptop, such as rotating, sorting and some basic metadata work like keyword assignment.
When I get back to the main workstation, I copy the image material over from the laptop just as I had arranged them in the field. The beauty of this methodology, with Bridge's help, is that the rotations and keywords, written to the metadata, stick to each image.
But there is one problem that does drive me crazy.
I have a lot of keywords and I organize them in sets but when I open my transfered images I do not get the set that was on the laptop or vice versa. Instead I get my assigned keywords in 'Other Keywords"
I would like to copy the set from one computer to the other so that each was the same setup. But I cannot locate where these keywords are stored for the Bridge application. I looked in the Bridge application folder, I looked in the user library, Adobe folder, Application Support, I even looked into the App's package contents. Nothing is leaping out at me as the obvious place, nothing is labeled keywords.
Can someone tell me what file or applet this information is stored in?
    Thanks a million times.

    Beverly,
As a cautionary note, I absolutely and utterly detest and despise iPhoto.
Having gotten that out of the way, in Bridge you don't have to deal with libraries or albums, and you don't need to
"import" anything. If the Finder can see it, so can Bridge--in the same place.
You can use either the Finder
    or
Bridge to move and organize your files any way you want, and the files will be visible to both applications.
iPhoto hides your imported photos in packages the Finder and other applications can't access. Neither can iPhoto see or find photos you haven't "imported" into its libraries.
Bridge can see, browse and hand to other applications all kinds of files, not just photos, like PDFs, Illustrator file, MS Word files, text clippings, picture clippings, whatever.
Read the manual, the help files, the video tutorials accessible through Bridge home on your machine, etc. You can also google
    Adobe Bridge Tutorials.

  • Where are the "receipts" of the photos that I email from iPhoto?  I have no record that I can find of these.

Where are the receipts of the photos that I email from Iphoto.  I can't find a record of those that I have sent.

I am not using it in a "professional manner".  Even I need to know who I sent that particular photo to and when and by the way, who are you to define what Apple meant by the design of its software?  I think you overstep yourself here.  I also think Apple has made every effort to lead people to believe that it serves a dual purpose as a personal as well as business tool.  I don't need sarcasm from you or anyone when I am trying to learn that which is hidden (or absent) in the software.  Being professional does not necessarily mean for a "business", but rather the level of sophistication and usefulness in the product.

  • Where are recorded the data from the app "the stickies" on a macbook pro retina?

    Hi !
I lost all my stickies. I don't know why but one day they dissapeared. Where are they located on the mac? So maybe I can recover them with time machine.

I know the location of the information, but I'm not sure yet how to get to it from Time Machine. But here is the path anyhow. I'll let you know if I find anything else.
    ~/Library/StickiesDatabase
    to get there open Finder.
Click the Go menu in the top menu bar.
Hold the Option key on the keyboard, and Library will appear in the menu. Click on it.
Near the bottom you'll see the StickiesDatabase, it is one of the only files there that is not a folder.
