No. iTunes Playback for movies is real rudamentary. If you want finer control - open the movie in QuickTime. Hope that helps.

In OS 10.5.8 where are the controls or code for selecting dragging/moving files and folders copying and pasting kept?
Is it part of one of the system apps?
Mine do not work any fixing tips?

Good call on on throwing away finder plist It worked on my desktop/screen saver problem...But, it didn't fix the dragging and moving items/folders and paste.
My network is still confused too.
I threw out the desktop plist as well still nothing...
I did run the anti-virus Macscan to check just for peace of mind it did find a spyware from CNN...
Thanks for your help at least one thing worked so far.
Any other suggestions, besides reloading OS...?

I wish to clean up my Macbook pro. I deleted movie files in iTune library folder, which should sum up to 20 GB, but I am seeing 50 GB of movie. How can I find out where all movies are located?

Finder's Slideshow feature: Where are the controls?

When I try to use the slideshow in Finder, its doesn't behave as advertised in Help. I don't see the promised full controls, just Zoom In/Out, Add to iPhoto and Quit. Nor can I advance the playback using the Arrow key, in fact the first image just sits there—forever if I let it. The Missing Manual clearly shows what's missing on my MacBook and talks about an auto-advance of 3 seconds. Can anyone help me correct this behaviour or explain what's [not] going on and/or why?

Hi BD. Not iPhoto—never use it—nor ScreenSaver. Here's a Cut and Paste from Help:
In the Finder, select image files in a folder or on your Desktop. Then hold down the Control click as you click one, and choose Slideshow from the shortcut menu that appears.
Use the controls at the bottom of the screen to switch between the images:
To stop and start Slideshow's automatic playback, click Stop or Start.
To move forward and back manually, use the arrow keys.
To view all the images at once, click Index Sheet. Click an image to view it.
To zoom in to and out of an image, click Fit to Screen or Actual Size.
To add an image to your iPhoto library, click Add to iPhoto.
To exit the slideshow, click Close.
As I said, the only controls that show for me are the Zoom, Add to iPhoto, and Quit. None of the other controls appear, and the arrow keys do nothing.
I ran maintenance a few days ago, and will do so again, as soon as I'm finished the job I've started.

Where are movies cached ?

I often go to sites that have video tutorials on Photoshop and would like to save the movies to review later. I find that on some sites I can save a QuickTime movie to the desktop by right clicking on the movie after it is completely loaded and then choosing save to desktop (I have QT Pro). I'm not able to do the same if the movies are in .WMV format or if they are Flash movies.
To be playing on my system in Safari the movies MUST have loaded into memory or disk SOMEPLACE as some sort of temporary file, but I have no idea where.
Can someone clue me in on where to look for these movies in the Finder?

Hi,
The simplest thing to do is probably use the Activity window (Window menu -> Activity). From there you can option+double click the items you're interested in to download them.

Where are the chapter markers and advanced settings in iMovie 10.0.1?

I have always separated my movies into scenes as chaters so I can find things later, how can this be done now?
Also the Advanced settings allowed for picture in picture and other neat manipulations. Are these all gone?

Picture-in-Picture, Cutaways, Side-by-Side and Green-screen/Blue-screen effects are now known as Connected Clips. They are accessed in a different way in the new iMovie 10. See this Apple iMovie 10 Help topic for the full details:

I have deployed Jsp based on local business components to Tomcat. The problem is that all the controls like NavigatorBar, ViewCurrentRecord etc are not displayed properly in my browser. Also all the color schemes are gone. The Data however is visible and when I click on the red cross (representing the row viewer button), the data is displayed in rows. It looks like I am missing some library or something in my deployment. I deployed the following and added to my tomcat classpath:

Where are movies/tv shows in Canadian iTunes store?

Hi there, having trouble finding movies and tv shows to download. It seems I cannot buy from U.S. store only Canadian. But the Canadian store has only music!! Tried downloading from other sites but cannot get anything into iTunes. Help!

Movies and tv shows are not available in the Canadian itunes store. If you wish to view some of the movies and tv shows you can change your store to US, but you will not be ab le to purchase them.

Where are movies shared to Apple devices stored exactly? When I shut down FCPX the shared movie disappears from iTunes.

From my iTunes preferences the /Users/(myusername)/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Home Videos
I added that subfolder to distinguish home videos from purchased movies.

Post crop vignetting was added into an earlier version of ACR (in CS4), but this function does not appear under Lens Corrections in my version of ACR 6.7. Where are these controls now?

Where are the bristle brushes in PS CC 2014?

According to documentation PS CC has bristle brushes, but I can not find any brushes labeled such and no interface items to manipulate them as shown in the adobe-tv video: Working with the new bristle brush tips | Visual Design CS5 | Adobe TV
Do these exist? Where are they? And where are the controls described in the video? (which seems to be for PS CS5 btw)

on my system there are several default bristle tip brushes with small brush icons: flat point, flat blunt ... etc.
upon opening the brush panel for any of those with the brush icon, you can select from 10 different bristle qualities shapes.
if you don't have these default brushes, might try resetting the brushes (right click down arrow on tools icon on menu bar)

Thanks, Steve. Actually, the ones I needed--my custom settings--were stored in a similar path: [username]>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Adobe PDF>Settings. What's interesting is that if you do a search for ".joboptions", none of these are found. Curious!

I have a layer that contains a movie clip, instance name wwr_mc, which has nineteen frames. I have figured out how to script a roll-over function to continously move from one frame to another by rolling over the prev, or next buttons, using this code:

This type of navigation, while functional, is not really codusive to what I'm trying to accomplish. I would like to be able to click and drag the mouse and have the frames advance forward or backward depending on the direction of the mouse movement.
I tried using the MOUSE_Move event with very limited success.

If you want to make the change in frames happen solely based on the direction (x) that the mouse is being moved, then you need to test the current position of the mouse against the last known position...

I am not sure what you find as being too fast. When you are doing things relative to an extended event, such as a mouse being moved for some time, then it is highly likely that the event will execute the event handler function repeatedly... as fast as the frame rate of the file allows. So if you want more control of the rate at which mouse moves effect nextFrame/prevFrame function calls, then you need to build in some form of delay. In the example below, it takes the form of removing the mouse move event listener for a short period using a timing function (setTimeout in this example, though you could use the Timer class as well)
