Where are Mozilla Firefox's Network Preferences saved?

Hey everyone,
I am wanting to know where Mozilla Firefox saves it's network preferences.
For examples, I have to go into options --> advances --> network --> settings and change the proxy every time I change to a new work computer. Are these settings saved into a local file/into the registry so that I could just run a .bat file to change these settings in 1 click?
Hope this makes sense :)
Thanks in advance,
Dominic Fichera

my 2c: "last sync <day> <time>". afaik '''IS''' the success log, the Implication being ''everything that's been asked for, has been successfully synced''

  • Where are the iWeb file(s?) saved?

    Hi,
When I'm working on a site and then press cmd+S (File>Save), where are the iWeb file(s?) saved?
I'm looking for those files which I need to backup in case my harddisk would crash some day...
    Thanks!

They're in ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/, where ~ is the item in the Finder's sidebar with the house icon.

I have already looked in Program Files-Mozilla Firefox. There appear to be no icon files! I just need to know the file location.

    please help me!!!!!!!
The .ipsw files for iPod firmware updates are located at:
    C:\Documents and Settings\(account name)\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
The filenames are a bit cryptic, but you can make out the version.

  • Mail: Where are email messages and address book saved?

    Good morning.
I would like to backup both emails and the address book in Mail.
Where are these located on my harddrive?
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi Again Bruce,
    On Mail...
First Quit Mail, then I'd backup these two Mail folders, by right clicking on them in the Finder, then choose Archive/Compress.
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail Downloads
(Could be a different folder here if you chose such in Mail Prefs)
Right click on that Mail folder, choose archive, you'll get everything in the folder, and the folder itself in a file called Mail.zip, move it to a safe place, same for the Mail Downloads folder... only the plist is separate.
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
    For Address Book, quit AB...
    Files...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.abd.plist
    Folders...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/com.apple.AddressBook/

  • Where are the PLAYLIST and EQ preferences for iTunes located?

Somehow I lost my iTunes Playlist when I moved the audio files to another hard drive on the same computer. Does anyone know where the PLAYLIST and EQ preferences for iTunes located on a Mac? Also can I make a copy or backup of those preferences? Thanks!

There are no Playlist Preferences - playlists are saved into the iTunes Library database file (what we call "the Library" in these forums).
There is however a com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist file - it's in the ~user/Library/Preferences folder. Individual EQs for your tracks are stored in the iTunes Library file.

  • Where are all of LR5 custom settings saved on a PC, i.e, Export Presets & Watermarks?

I need to reload my entire system, and don't want to have to start fresh with LR5.  I would like to import all of my existing settings.
I have all my photos and catalogues backed up, but not sure about LR5 customisation settings.

Go to Edit>Preferences>Presets>Show Lightroom Presets Folder.
These folders are usually (see below) actually in the same folder called 'Lightroom' where your catalog lives.
If you back up the entire 'Lightroom' folder they should be there unless you have elected to put the folder elsewhere.
Either way 'Show Lightroom Presets Folder' takes one there.
You can copy and back it up seperately or as part of the greater 'ightroom folder' back up.

  • Where Are The Captured Video Files Typically Saved?

    Hi:
I guess my title pretty much descibes my question, I feel like a bit of an idiot, but for the life of me I can't find them on my drive!
This iMovie is like a virus! Also, what does one do to delete all related files once the movie has been written to DVD and I don't need them anymore?
    Thank you, Glenn

They are saved where YOU told iMovie to save them when you created your projects. iMovie suggests your "Movies" folder, but you may (of course) navigate around the hard drive(s) and save them anywhere.
I would at LEAST export the project back to tape before deleting it. To delete, use Finder to drag the "package" (which looks like a file) to the trash and empty the trash.

  • Where are all Final Cut Studio preferences located?

I have to re-install Final Cut Studio 3 (FCS), due to a failed install. Support sent me new audio discs, which seemed to have caused the crash of the install. Those also failed.
Support needs time to investigate. In the meantime, I want to wipe everything so we can start anew. I have trashed and emptied everything I could find that was FCS and that support could think of at the time. But when I install, there is still something that remembers the previous install and won't let me install from the beginning.
I have another internal drive, also with OS Leopard (10.6.4) on it, which I use to check my Boot drive with Disk Warrior, Drive genius, and/or TTPro. I booted from that drive and that drive allowed the FCS installer to start from the beginning, with no memory of previous installs. I didn't do the install, but now I know that my boot drive still hase preferences or something from FCS, and I would like to trash all of them so the install disc can start fresh. In fact I would like to completely uninstall FCS, before trying any new installs.
Can anyone tell me exactly where the files that contain the FCS info reside?
Also, can anyone tell me how to uninstall the whole Final Cut Studio 3?
    Thanks,

Please, Just the install of the Install disc of FCS too me hours. Then there are multiple DVDs, each of which takes a long time. I already did it twice, getting as far as the end of the first Sound files dic, and having to start over. And the technician, who is a member of the special team that handles FCS, took me through long periods of trying a lot of things, each of which took time. And it is not just that the applications cannot be removed my Apple (so I thought), but that what remained and could not be removed so far by Apple Tech Support, crashes the installation and does not allow the software to be reinstalled. I don't think I made that clear.
And I don't believe you if you were installing either of the Microsoft Office Suites from scratch. They are long installs first, which installs are then followed by many updates, one after the other. And I have both the latest and the previous Microsoft Offices on my computer for various reasons.
Then we come to the Adobe Suite CS4 and CS5. I have both, again for various reasons. Also very long installs.
And a lot more. It takes a long time, especially because I cannot sit there and watch it steadily.
I tend 7 computers here, including 2 PCs, and an careful install of a new computer is a major endeavor, in my opinion.
And the Adobe software has to be specifically uninstalled centrally with Adobe, in order for it to be allowed to be reinstalled on a new installation.
It is time intensive work and can be very aggravating.
It is since Saturday, and Apple support has not gotten back to me, even though an inquiry about it a couple of days ago told me they should get back to me yesterday or today.
And if I do an full system re-install, there is no assurance at all that the same problem that happened twice will not happen again, i.e., is it the software copy I have, or what? The technician tried to find the problem and then decided to consult the rest of the team.
Anyway, the uninstaller worked on a copy of my boot drive, which I have now made my boot drive, because I improved the Partition layout.
I thank you for the help getting rid of FCS, and I will consider whether I try again, or just return the software. Either way I will live happily.

  • Where are my 'mouse and keyboard' preferences?

    Hi,
Since I updated my macbook from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2, I am not able to change the 'mouse and keyboard' settings. The mouse pointer has become very slow when I use the trackpad. All I wanted to do was to increase the pointer's speed.
If I click on 'System Preferences' and 'keyboard and mouse', it tries to open that option, but it never does. It says 'loading keyboard and mouse'. Then if I click there again, I get an empty 'keyboard and mouse' windong. This means that I am NOT able to make any changes. What's going on?
    Thanks,
    Michael

Robinson, thanks for the input. For everyone, report this to Apple and send a bug report (or enhancement request) via its Bug Reporter system. Join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. You'll get a get a Bug (ER) ID number; thus, starting a dialog directly with engineering.

  • 10.5.3 upgrade removed my Network Preference

Literally! In my System Preferences > under Internet & Network > my system now reads NetworkPref whereas before it always said Network. When I click on it the whole system preferences window is empty (with the exception of the menu bar, i.e. "show all" and the search field) and also in the top where it would normally read Network Preferences it now says com.apple.preference.network
I was hoping that 10.5.3 would solve my earlier networking issue but it seems to have only added a new issue to my problems.
    Any ideas???

First, an update will never solve a problem specific to a particular user's machine. And it's a bad idea to update a system that is not functioning properly. Strange things (as you have noted) can occur.
I suggest trashing your system .plist will help you restore your proper icons, names and other items.
You will find it in your library/preferences folder. It's named
    com.apple.systempreferences.plist
drag it onto your desktop and log off and back in.
You will have to reset all your preferences, but if this does not help your issue, simply drag the .plist on your desktop back to where it came from.
Usually this trashing of a .plist fixes these kinds of problems. It probably will not fix your original network problem, however, but only the wrongly named icon.
