hi ijust bought aperature  and when i opend it my faces are missing and my 40 or so events has now being placed into 2 only projects
I assume, you opened your iPhoto library in Aperture? And then Aperture upgraded the library?  What are your versions of iPhoto and Aperture?
Are photos missing, or just all photos dumped into only two projects?
Check, if you have any filters set, that exclude faces and places from being shown.
The search field in the Library Inspector panel will filter projects and albums. Clear this, so it will show "All items".
The search field in the browser will filter the currently selected projects and albums, it should be showing "Show all".
Places and Faces are behaving differently, depending on where you select them. The "Faces/Places" views in the Library Inspector panel should be showing all faces and places, the corresponding buttons in the Tooolbar will only show a subset for the currently selected library item and may appear to be empty.
iwent bact to iphoto there gone from faces and events there as well
Are you sure, you opened the correct iPhoto library?  Open your iPhoto Library directly in iPhoto by double-clicking it. Is it the correct library, and does it still look like items were missing?
If your Faces/Places are really missing, try if repairing the library will bring back the Faces.
Launch Aperture while holding down the key combination⌥⌘ (option-command), until you are seeing the Library First Aid panel. Select "Repair Database". Are the Faces now back?
If not, restore your iPhoto library from your backup and run the repair in iPhoto, before you open the library in Aperture.

  • Where are my old events in Cal?

I can no longer see my old events from 2010 and 2011 in iCal? Where are they? I have not deleted them. Any help would be appreciated.
    Many thanks

Mary. Another Forum mentions some problems about iCal not deleting events and relating this to a possible glitch in 10.5.5. I wonder then whether my problem is yet another glitch.

  • Where are all my events?

Where are all my photos from other events?
When I open iPhoto only the most recently imported event photos show, and there is no button to go to all events?  Help!

It's not a problem with the application but probably with the library. Make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Where are those recurring events coming from? - K800

The calendar of my Sony Ericsson K800 is stuffed with so-called recurring events from years ago.
I say "so-called" because the events in question are from 2002 and 2003 and when I entered them in iCal they weren't recurring but where normal iCal events. Somewhere along the line either my phone, iSync or iCal has decided they would be nicer as recurring.
To try and get rid of them I've deleted all calendar events on the phone. I've gone to iCal and deleted the calendars in questions, not just the events but the whole calendar. I even spent an age looking through my remaining 2002 and 2003 iCal event by event to check that none of them remaining records where recurring. Then I went to iSync and Reset All Devices.
But they are still there, laughing at me. Meetings from my old employer coming back to haunt me.
HELP, how do I get rid of them?
    tia
    M

Coincidentally, I just had almost exactly the same problem myself with a Sony Ericsson W610.
I couldn't find the events in iCal, and exporting and reimporting didn't sort it (as often it does).
What solved it for me was exporting the offending Calendar from iCal as an .ics file (File > Export...) and deleting the calendar from iCal.
Then I opened the .ics in a plain text editor, located the title of the event and deleted it manually by removing everything between the BEGIN: and END: surrounding the offending event.
Then I resaved the .ics file (as a new file, not overwriting the original!) and re-imported that back into iCal.
Bit of a kludge but it worked for me...

  • Where are ICC profiles stored in Aperture? Formerly they were stored in the home map. I make my own ICC profiles, with  Color Munki. I can't find them back in  the /library/colorSync/Profiles. I'm using a Canon printer iPF5100

    ICC profiles
Formerly ICC profiles where placed in the Home map: library/colorcync/profiles. But the home map does

Kees, the color profiles are still stored in your user library in
    ~/ColorSync/Profiles/
I can't find them back in  the /library/colorSync/Profiles.
Are you looking in the System Library folder /Library/colorSync/Profiles  at the top level of your system drive?
As you probably know, your User Library is hidden since Mac OS X Lion.
You can reveal it from the Finder's "Go" menu in the main menu bar:
    Finder > Go
Then hold down to options-key ⌥, until Library appears in the drop-down menu. Select it and open the Library.

  • Where are my photos stored in Aperture

I have just bought a canon printer and I wish to print on to cd with it, by the looks of it I've got to use Canons software to do this function and req the photos on there photo software. I know my photos are on the Aperture library  but I would like to import some into the Canon software .Can anybody enlighten me how I can find the photos ie what path do I take are they any some folder. Many thanks

When you us Aperture as part of your digital photography workflow, you _export_ Images when you need a file to use with another program (such as your Canon printing software).  So simply select the Images you want, and create files by exporting them from Aperture.  When you export you will be able to specify a location and other file attributes.  Then open those files at that location using your Canon software.
Your Images will remain in Aperture.  Discard your "for printing CD labels" exports when you are done with them.  You can always create new files from your Images in Aperture.

  • Where are my old faces after I migrated to Photo

Where are my "faces" when I moved to "photo" from iPhoto????

is the Faces album empty, or is the the Faces album missing?
You should be seeing the Faces album in the "Album" section of the sidebar.
To show the sidebar, press the key combination ⌥⌘S or use the View menu > Show Sidebar.
If the Album section is completely empty, hover the pointer to the right of "Albums" to reveal the hidden Show/Hide controls.
You can also see the Faces in the Info panel for each photo.

  • Where are my event names?

Where the **** have my event names gone?
I had a whole archive of an artist's work, titled and dated in the event title; now they seem to all be gone.
I'm just left with a useless timeline of chronological images that I can't sort even if I wanted to.
    What the **** for?
So it can look like an iphone on my computer screen?
Also when I show someone an image on my computer screen, I don't want them to be able to see every single image I've ever taken.
This really is poor from Apple.
iPhoto has never been great, but at least you had basic functions to try and make it as useful as possible to you.
    Not anymore...
Feel like I have to transfer this whole archive of at least 2.5 years worth of work to a new application like Adobe Bridge.
    Pain in the ....

Moments in Photo art the new Events.  There's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When the library was first migrated there was a folder created titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events are represented by an album in the folder. To open the sidebar if it's not open use the Option+Command+S key combination.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N.  Name it as desired.  It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.

  • Where are my 'events' in photo 2015?

I have years of photos stored by "events".  I just did the update and the Events are gone!  Help!  Where are they?

  • HT3529 where are you smiley faces and symbols for texting on the iphone 5c?

Where are the smiley faces and symbols for texting?

On the emoji keyboard. Go to Settings>General>Keyboard>Add Keyboard and select emoji. Then you will have a small globe key near the number key on the left side of the keyboard. This will allow for selecting between the regular keyboard and the emoji keyboard.

  • Where are my calendars and events?

    Hello everybody!
I am a frequent user of iCal, but something weird is happening now. I started up my Macbook (10.5.6) and it is not working. When I start up iCal, my calendars list is empty, and so are all my events. iTunes (when I look under "info" and "calendars") shows me a list of calendars called "Untitled", but iCal refuses to admit any exist. Can anybody please help me!! At the moment, I am entering new events on my iPod, but I cannot rename any of the untitled calendars and I cant do anything with iCal. Stupid thing.
I didnt have this problem last week, only today (Friday). Last I used iCal was Monday, so almost five days ago, and it was perfectly fine.
    Thanks to all who help!
    James

OK. I just got off the phone with a dude at Apple. Here's what we did:
After playing around with .plist files etc. we made a new account to see where the problem was ( /Library or /Users/~~/Library). The error was in my library folder, because the other account had a working version of iCal.
Once we got that far, we had two choices:
    1. Take out all of the folders in the library folder and place them into library.old, and drag 'n' drop one folder at a time whilst logging in and out of the machine after each one to isolate the error.
    Or
    2. Use a Leopard Disc to conduct an Archive & Install process, which will move the entire contents of the OS into a folder called "Previous System" in the root of the hard drive, and then the installer would install a clean OS.
However, each of those would take a considerable amount of time, but the Archive & Install would be easier. Then the Apple guy had an idea:
We moved the Calendars folder (in the library folder of your account ie James/Library/) to the desktop, and then we emptied *the contents of* the caches folder (don't delete the folder itself he said) and empty the trash. When the trash is emptied, move the calendars folder back into the Library folder, log out and in, and when iCal starts the error is fixed!
Hooray! The iCal issue is solved! Well, mine is! Hopefully this will fix yours too!

I exported one folder to an external drive.  Now ALL my projects in Aperture are gone!  WHERE ARE THEY?  I've tried to rebuild and repair database.  It only shows the one project I had exported because I opened it in Finder back into Aperture.  HELP PLEASE!

  • Where are Aperture Prefs in Lion

I have always had an intermittent porblem when i try to import pictures into Aperture it will not recognize any picture to import regardless of what format they are in. The way around this is to trash the Prefs from the Preferences folder and start again ....... but where are the prefs now ? i can;t find them in Lion....
    Any ideas please?
    Thx
    John

OK, I have found the answer to my question.
In Lion the user Library folder is hidden (not sure why) take a look at this link for an explanation of how to find it:
    http://eve-search.com/thread/1554319/page/1
Once you have the Pref folder the aperture prefs are there
But wish Apple would fix the problem within Aperture, why it cannot recognise pictures to import is a mystery and very frustrating.
    Thx
    John
