Where are my installed search engine plugins located in FF21?

they are not in
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins
nor are they in (only default ff plugins are in it, not ones i downloaded)
C:\Program Files\Mozi lla Firefox\browser\searchplugins
i can't find my youtube, mycroft, torrentz search plugin in the folders (it has an extension of .xml, right?)

You can check if you have the XML files of the default search engines including Google in the browser\searchplugins folder in the Firefox program folder.
If not then you need to reinstall Firefox.
Custom installed search engines are in the searchplugins folder in the Firefox profile folder..
Try to delete the search.json file and possible search-metadata.json and search.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder to reset the search engines to the default.
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
Firefox will rebuild the search.json file from the default search engines in the "browser\searchplugins" folder in the Firefox program folder and the searchplugins folder in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Where are the internet search engine bookmarks located

    simple & dumb question I know, but I'm new to mac and still discovering. Where is the folder which contains all the search engine bookmarks?

    "Search engine bookmarks?" What do you mean by that? Your bookmarks (i.e. sites you add to your Bookmarks list), or the list of choices that 'pops-up' when you start typing a search query into Google, for example? Also, which browser are you talking about (Safari, Firefox, etc.)?

    Where are the users login items physically located?

    Where are the users login items physically located?
    The physical login item process could be located any where. Your ~/Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist initiates login applications or processes.

    Where are the K7N2 Delta temps sensors located?
    Okay I know one reads from the diode... altough the reading still seems to be low compared to other diode readers (like the 8K3A+ which gives you readins in the 50's).
    Where is the other one located?

    MSI Tech... how about it?

  • Where are the swipe preferences for calendar located

    Hi
    Where are the swipe preferences for calendar located?  Is it two fingers swipe down to goto the next month?
    Thank you in advance.

    I don't know that there are any preferences for setting what swiping does in the Calendar.
    Two finger swipes left and right skip months in month view. They skip weeks in week view. Two fingers up and down scroll up and down (which does nothing in month view).

  • Where are the right-click Finder workflows located??

    When I control+click while selecting a file, I can see in the drop-down menu More: Automator a few plug in workflows.
    But where is that folder located? I'm trying to alter one that resides and shows up there now (customized by a friend), but I can't locate it to open it up and alter it. Spotlight isn't finding it at all.
    Any idea where that folder of plug ins resides??? thanks!

    spotlight doesn't search it because system folders are excluded from searches by default. to include them, enter command+f to bring a search window, click on "Kind", scroll and click on "other". in the resulting popup select 'system files" and set to include.

  • Why are all my search engines are bing?

    How do I restore my search engines? No matter which one I chose the search goes to the Bing search.

    Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now.
    Last warning: DO NOTHING unless you have a backup and you know you can restore from it.

    Quit Safari if it’s running.
    Step 1
    In the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-A to open the Applications folder. Select the Safari icon in that folder and press the key combination command-I to open the Info window. There’s a checkbox in the Info window labeled Open in 32-bit mode. If that box is checked, uncheck it. Close the Info window and the Applications folder.
    Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:
    ☞ If running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar.
    ☞ If running an older version of Mac OS X, select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar and enter “~/Library” (without the quotes) in the text box that opens.
    Delete the following items from the Library folder (some may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.Safari
    Caches/com.apple.WebKit.PluginProcess
    Caches/Metadata/Safari
    Preferences/com.apple.WebKit.PluginHost.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.WebKit.PluginProcess.plist
    Saved Application State/com.apple.Safari.savedState
    Leave the Library folder open. Try Safari again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
    Step 2
    If Safari still doesn’t work right, quit, go back to the Finder and move the following items from the open Library folder to the Desktop (some may not exist):
    Cookies/Cookies.binarycookies
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.LSSharedFileList.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.WebFoundation.plist
    PubSub/Database
    Safari
    (Note: you are not moving the Safari application. You’re moving a folder named “Safari.”)
    Try again. This time Safari should perform normally, but your settings and bookmarks will be lost.
    If the issue is still not resolved, quit Safari again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were, overwriting the newer ones that will have been created in their place. You don’t need to replace the files you deleted in step 1. Stop here and post again.
    If Safari is now working normally (apart from the lost settings), look inside the “Safari” folder on the Desktop for a file named “Bookmarks.plist”. Select File ▹ Import Bookmarks from the Safari menu bar. Import from that file. Recreate the rest of your Safari settings. You can then delete the items you moved to the Desktop.
    Note: This step will remove your Safari Extensions, if any, and their settings. If you choose to restore them, do so one at a time, testing after each step to make sure you haven’t restored the problem.
    If you don’t like the results of step 2, you can undo it completely by quitting Safari and restoring the items you moved or deleted in that step from your backup, overwriting any that were created in their place. If you followed these instructions, you have a working backup and you know how to restore from it. If you didn’t follow the instructions, I can’t help.

  • Where are the photos in the organizer located?

    When I put photos in the organizer, does the organizer make copies of the originals? Where are they located on the hard drive?

    coolmanoh wrote:
    When I put photos in the organizer, does the organizer make copies of the originals? Where are they located on the hard drive?
    You don't put any photo in the organizer : the location on the drive of the media files and their properties are written in the catalog database together with a small thumbnail. The photos stay where you have put them.
    If you are 'getting photos or videos' from camera or card reader, you are using an accessory module (the downloader) to upload from your camera card to your computer before the photos are registered in the organizer catalog. You can check the location where the files are written in your computer in the Edit / preference menu of the organizer. You can specify where you want the photos to be stored on your computer.
    After the photos are downloaded from your card, the organizer automatically reads the location and properties of those files and writes that info in the database.
    If you are 'getting photos from files or folders', there is no copy, the updating of the database is made from the already present files on your computer.
    It's up to you to chose if you want to use the downloader or simply use other ways to get the photos from your card to your computer.

  • Where are Fonts Installed?

    Hi;
    When CS 5.5 installs (complete with fonts) where are they located?
    I'm on MacOS10.8.2
    Thanks;
    Chris

    The standard font location for your operating system. On a Mac, that's this path:
    [Computer Name] > Library > Fonts
    That makes them available for all users on your computer.

  • Where are the "Install and Keep Package" Downloads?

    I just did a clean install of 10.5.
    As I wanted to save all the download Apple 10.5 updates to install other macs, I asked Software Update to "Install and Keep Package".
    It downloaded them and installed them, BUT I cant find them on my HD?
    Where are they?

    Same problem here with Install and Save from the Updater.
    I do have a permission issue which is suppose to be solved by installing twice the Update OS X 10.5.8 Combo (?). I don't have speed connection and it took me 26 hours to load this update ...and now I can't find it.

  • Where are latest installed updates listed?

    Where are the latest installed updates listed on the Mac, Mountain Lion 10.8.2?  It used to be listed in the Apple System Preferences, Software Update with two tabs - Scheduled Check and INSTALLED UPDATES. Now, however, there are no tabs, just Software Update.
    Thanks.

    System Information, Software>Installations.

  • I hate my new update.  All pages are printed too small for my aging eyes!  Yes I know how to do Command   but don't want to do this every time.  Also, more importantly, where is my Google search engine?  And why no easy way to click back to previous page?

    Okay, as soon as I sent this I figured out where Google search is!

    The desktop, the mail, all webpages.  I know there used to be a way to fix this in preferences but now cannot find it.
    Also my home page will no longer open (BBC America).
    I found the Safari Search option (should have been obvious!) But on other hand, do not understand why tool bar keeps disappearing - aah, just another of life's mysteries (until I figure it out!).

  • Installing search engines in deskbar-applet?

    Hi, is there any extra procedure to perform when installing a deskbar-applet search plugin?... I've installed      tracker-gnome-search-tool from aur (btw you should really try tracker)which comes whith a deskbar plugin, It's sitting there in /opt/gnome/lib/deskbar-applet/handlers, but it's nowhere in the list of plugins in the gui, so... is there anything else I need to do? Thanks -_^

    By default, the Google search plugin is installed into this folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\browser\searchplugins
    Can you see google.xml there?
    If not, you may need to reinstall Firefox 23. No uninstallation needed, you can get the installer from the following page:
    http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ (find your language and OS)
    If you have google.xml in the usual location, it's possible the data file which stores the search plugins has become corrupted. You can address that by renaming or deleting the files listed below and having Firefox regenerate them.
    Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
    Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
    Switch back to Firefox and Exit
    Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename (or delete) the following files:
    search.json => rename to search.json.old
    search-metadata.json (if found) => delete
    search.sqlite (if found) => delete
    search.rdf (if found) => delete
    Restart Firefox. Hopefully now Google will be back on the list.
