Where are my iTune Playlists on my iPod?

I'm unclear on the concept.
I have set up Playlists on my iTunes account. They apparently sync with my iPod because while my iPod is still connected to iTunes, and I roll down the triangle, I can see all the Playlists listed. However, I can't find the Playlist name on my iPod.
Example: I set up a Playlist called "guitar mix." I see it on my iTunes, on the iPod listing when connected to iTunes, but I can't find it on my actual iPod.
What am I not getting

I had a similar problem, couldn't find my Playlists on my iPod Classic.
However I did find the solution quite easily. My iPod simply wasn't setup to show Playlists (and some other features)
In the Settings menu go to Main Menu and select Music scroll down to Playlists and select by clicking the centre button. This will put a check mark beside it.
Now go back out to your Top Menu and it should be listed there. Click on it and all your iTunes Playlists should be listed there (hopefully!).
I hope this helps.

  • Why can I sync some iTunes playlists to the iPod but some other ones don't?

Why can I sync some iTunes playlists to the iPod but some other ones don't? This is unusual - I wonder if the iPod is working correctly but some setting is wrong. Thanks

Connect your iPod to your computer and when it appears in the Source list click on it to show the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and check that your settings are "Sync Music - All songs and playlists" and not "Sync Music - Selected playlists"

  • All of my apps are in iTunes AND on my iPod Touch. in iTunes it the checkbox next to sync apps is UNchecked. should i check the box and have to reorganize all my apps or leave it "un-synced"?

all of my apps are in iTunes AND on my iPod Touch. in iTunes, under my iPod, the checkbox next to 'sync apps' (in the Apps page under my iPod) is Unchecked. if I check it, all my apps will be all over the place and I will waste hours trying to get it back to the way it was. I don't really have a reason to check the box but I don't know. should I check the box and have to reorganize all my apps or leave it "un-synced"?
by "un-synced" I mean how it is on my iPod and iTunes at the same time but its not synced
this happened b/c I had to make a new user acct on my only [Windows 7] computer and when i clicked transfer purchases, this happened.
any help would be greatly appreciated
And as you can see ( besides my problem here) i am out of dropbox space. it would be nice if you can click http://db.tt/TQiPs59V to make an acct to give me and you more space

You should ALWAYS make sure that everything is on your computer and backed up, most especially before any update. The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.
If you have failed to do this, then you need to redownload:

  • I can't sync my Itunes playlists to my Ipod.  Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?    It is the 7th generation Ipod

I am trying to sync my Itunes playlists to my Ipod 7th generation.  With my older Ipods all I had to do was hook the Ipod up to the computer and it would sync the playlists.  I now have Windows 8 on the computer.  Does that make a difference in how Itunes works?

  • Since the new software update I am no longer able to syn my itunes playlist to my ipod nano.  Everything that has been put online since Nov 2014 is not helping, any suggestions?

iTunes latest update has now stopped my ability to sync a specified playlist from my iTunes library to my ipod nano.
All suggestions on line since Novemeber 2014 have not seemed similar to my nano - it is 16gb and very old, not sure what generation.
The screen on this one is long an rectangle and not a touch screen.  A round disk that you run your thumb around has e menu, forward, backward and play/stop button, hope this helps you know which one I am referring to.
Also any iTunes help for my device so far has not addressed and update and how to now use my device.

Okay - let's cut to the chase...
If the Menu Bar (File, Edit... Help) shown in my screenshot below is not visible, use CTRL+B to display it. Then click on Help/Check for Updates. If one is available, you will be able to select it at this time.
Note the item at the bottom of the list; About iTunes. Selecting that will show you which version of iTunes you are using.
An alternative method to display the Menu Bar is click on the box in the top left of your iTunes window...

  • Where are my iTunes libraries?

I have an iPod Touch and my new iPad Mini. On my iPod Touch, all of the music and video files are available from the iTunes desktop, or by navigating to (User)/iTunes/iTunes Library.
However, even though I back up my iPad Mini and have lots of music and files there, I can't locate the files when the iPad isn't in the Lightning connector. When I perform a Spotlight search on an item I know is on my iPad Mini, I can't see the files- until I back up iTunes. Where are the files located? Why can't Spotlight locate my backed-up iPad library items?
    Thanks!

That means that the items on my iPad Mini only appear on a search when my iPad Mini is attached via Lightning connection; when disconnected, the files only appear on my iPad Mini.
Let's suppose that I have an mp4 video that's on my iPad Mini. If it's being backed up, that means that a copy of the video should reside in my backup drive. But when I look on the backup drive for the specific mp4 video, it doesn't appear anywhere. Where is it located?
If the file is somehow deleted from my iPad Mini, and I need to get a copy of the file from my backup drive, where do I find it?
Another idea comes to mind. My iPad Mini files aren't being backed up at all; only my iPod Touch files are being backed up. Each device requires a different HD device to back up the data, or a single drive partitioned in two parts. In other words, I need to back up separately for the iPod Touch and iPad Mini.

  • When I try to sync music from iTunes playlist to my Ipod shuffle it says the iPod is synced to a different liabrary.  It asks if I want to delete the music already on the Ipod and sync it to "this" library.  I don't want to lose the music already on Ipod.

Please help.  I have no idea why this is happening and I'm kinda new to using iTunes.  I'm trying to sync music from a playlist on my iTunes account onto my iPod Shuffle (older Shuffle).  I use Windows XP on my laptop.  When I try moving the songs to the iPod it says the iPod is synced to another library.  I didn't know I had another library (but I guess it is possible because I used iTunes a few years ago too).
The only option I get is to delete the music already on the iPod and sync the iPod to "this" library.  I really don't want to lose the music already on the iPod.  PLEASE HELP.  I'm tech challenged to say the least.

    Hello,
I dont know if you are that used to iTunes or not, but make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes first. Obviously you know where to get that!
Then what you want to do is make sure that all plalists are synced up to update automaticaly. When you are finished with this, hit the apply button and it should work.
I think that the issue here is that its not syncing your new playlists. So look in the prefrences and let me know what its saying.

  • Where are my iTunes U audio items I synched?

I downloaded several free iTunes U items subscribed to through iTunes Store podcast section. I synched some of it to my iPod Nano. I can see the video items just fine under "Movies", but I can't find the audio only items anywhere (not in Podcasts, not in Music, and I looked pretty much everywhere). When I click on my iPod in iTunes when I'm connected, I see the audio items as selected for synching (and it's not giving me any indication that they are NOT synching), but they're not showing up on my iPod screen. Are they on the Nano or not? I see from the iTunes U site that it's meant to be for Touch and iPhone, but then why am I seeing the video items with no problem??

OK, I found them!! Believe it or not, you have to start with Music >> Playlists >> iTunes U, and there they are! Since I didn't have multiple playlists loaded in, I never looked there.

  • Where are my individual playlists

Since installing the latest upgrade, I cannot find my indiviuual playlists. All of my apps are missing with the exception of the latest one I downloaded. All of my music has to be downloaded from the cloud. The tutorials don't answer these questions for me. Please help! thanks

    Hello Aliyahloveda,
Fortunately enough, we have steps that should help return your media to iTunes.
    Symptoms
After upgrading iTunes, if your music, videos and other content do not show up in iTunes, follow these steps to bring back your missing content:
    Resolution
    Quit iTunes.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes.
Use the Finder (Mac) or Windows Explorer (Windows) to go to the iTunes folder that contains the iTunes library files:
    Mac OS X
    /Users/username/Music/iTunes/
Microsoft Windows Windows XP and Windows 2000
    \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
Microsoft Windows Windows Vista and Windows 7
    \Users\username\Music\iTunes\
Drag the iTunes Library file from the above location to the Desktop.
Open the Previous iTunes Libraries folder in the iTunes folder.
Locate the file named iTunes Library YYYY-MM-DD where YYYY-MM-DD is the date you upgraded iTunes (Year-Month-Day).
Drag this file to the iTunes folder (the enclosing folder).
Rename this file to iTunes Library.
    Open iTunes.
You should now see your missing content in iTunes.
No content shows up in iTunes after updating

  • Where are my itunes match songs

I've had iTunes Match for 8 months now and its been just fine.  Today, I went into iTunes and every song that was in the cloud is gone.  I've updated Match and turned it on and off and still nothing.  Its about 4000 songs that are gone.  What canI do?

Go to settings, music, then enable iTunes match and wait 3 seconds for a confirmation alert. Enter your password and thats it. It should take half a minute for the songs to show up in the iPod app.
